Moratorium is starting to annoy me

Well, just got in after the patch, still unable to buy personal houses. This is frustrating. A full week was more than enough time for FCs to get their ducks in a row and a house secured, why at this point are the personal house buyers still being locked out?

By the time they release housing to the public housing will be at rock bottom for prices and the blood bath that is logging in will be even worse....

He commented that on another thread too. I had a look again to make sure I didn't miss anything, and it is false. There has been no word at all on that. All that was said was they are planning to add more wards in the future.

Giving us no INFO on when it will be released just makes this even more frustrating.

Sure thing. Then i could put an alarm on my celphone instead of checking the news every couple of hours.

I got myself an FC on my alt thinking it might come in handy, and it sure did, i was able to purchase a plot for a friend to hold it until she is able to buy it after the moratorium is removed, it might cost a little to buy and give up the plot but its worth it since the chances are extremely slim the longer they make you wait... for that particular plot you want.

That won't work. If you give it up, it'll still have a random timer until it's available for purchase so a lot of people will notice it. And meanwhile it can be relocated to.

Anyone wanting to buy a house right away isn't going to be bothered by a few million gil either way. Cheaper housing isn't exactly going to drive hundreds more players into the market any quicker.

What's bewildering to me is my bonded partner and I were desperately saving to try to grab a small and we can jointly afford a medium or individual homes now.

This is intense.

She will buy a cheap plot first and then relocate to the plot i hold, we already knew about the timer (forgot to mention in my post) from relinquishing and how it only affects buyers who don't currently own a plot.

So this way, she will get the plot in the end.

But once the plot has been bought as FC plot, it can't be reversed as private plot, right?

Even if this were the case (which was not confirmed) it helps nothing to fix the situation.

No they are not trying hard enough all they are doing is putting band aids on top of band aids aka just adding more wards which really does nothing considering they have not done anything about people making fake 4 man FC's to get housing and on top of that there are people going to the extreme making a ton of alts grabbing WHOLE WARDS for themselves. So until they fix(punish?) these people and actually deal with the housing starting from the actual core all we will see is band aids.....

I share your feeling, goblet here is completely abandoned only the large plts was taken, lavender and mist have 98% of the small plts empty, shirogani is full with like 25% of the small plots empty, I want one small in lavender because my start was in gridania, my gc is in gridania and want continue being loyal to Kanna E Sena, but to have one house, no matter where, just want one, ever dreamt with one, but this moratorium is messing with me, like said in the first page "annoying".

Today is my last day of my vacation and now I cant stay online during the day, only in the night, since the ending of maintenace happens at 8am GMT+3 (2am PST), in 8am I am on my work and can't go home untill 7pm :( I just lost the remaining hope I had.

We have one Goblet ward with a single large bought by an FC.

One house. In a whole ward.

For real though. The Moratorium needs to end soon. It's been two weeks and the FCs that really wanted a place or wanted to move have done it. And done it like 8 days ago. I just want my chance at a house!!!! :(

It is super depressing how many plots are vacant, including this beautiful medium next to mine :( I just want some neighbours, but due to the moratorium, nobody who wants it can buy. It's been long enough, let the buyers in!

To everyone complaining: You are not being ignored, and the solution is not to just open the wards back up. The devs are being put into a situation where they are damned if they do and damned if they don't, so let me address this simply:

Yes there are available wards, that doesn't mean that the restrictions should be removed. If they open the floodgates again, then we are back to square one and we will have another 4.1 shirogane disaster. The devs said they are actively monitoring the situation and are putting in plans based on observation, this means being careful and not making rash decisions (finally). Closing and limiting housing allows them the opportunity to refine and revamp the system freely, without the congestion of an open market, and housing can begin to be fixed over time for good.

Please be patient, and please let the devs fix housing for good, that is what the moratorium is for. If we keep complaining then nothing will get fixed.

Complaining brought back the much-needed Sustain spell for Summoners when it was removed at the start of SB. Complaining gave tanks a much-needed tweak to their accessories to have strength on them after they had been switched from VIT to STR for damage. Complaining gave Scholars some love via buffs to Succor and gave them Miasma II back. Complaining might not seem like it doesn't do anything, but there are a lot more examples where complaining here to the devs actually manages to fix things.

As for being patient, if there really was going to be a fix, don't you think they would've been able to, oh idk, give us some sort of idea what it is other than the "piss off the vast majority of the playerbase" strategy?

At least the small servers still have houses, on the larger ones we've got slim pickings and 100's waiting.

Remember though, the NA version of SE only has translators at best, since a majority of the feedback is taken on the Japanese forums since its their game to begin w/ so we're more of the "when we have some free time we'll take a look at the complaints" group. Would be nice if there was a team more dedicated to this size, I'm sure we're just as large. Not saying they don't either as time to time someone does comment on the forum that some feedback is collected but its usually when threads hit around 100 pages.

This is kinda what I was talking about. The devs WILL give you an idea of the solution when the solution has been worked out, they have already said as much (live letter XLI). Opening up the plots is a huge thing, and it wipes out any progress that has already been made, and is something that needs to be carefully considered.

Oh, and players complaining was the reason that FC and individual housing were put together in the first place, so I would reconsider the difference between appeasing annoyed players and carefully considering legitimate feedback.

The moratorium should've been a day, tops. More realistically, half a day.

So in other words, even you admit that they haven't figured out what to do, and they've basically completed phase one without having any blueprint for what's afterward.

That's not the fault of the players, especially in that regard for a legitimate complaint over not having some sort of personal housing established in the game at that time. This is all on the dev team for keeping players in the dark on matters like these, meaning that for all we know, there may still not be a plan for housing yet.

They made their bed when they established the housing moratorium. They should be ones to sleep in it, but instead it's the customers being forced to.

Housing post saus maint is on 19th, but other maintenance notice says 20th, anyone know which it is now?

11pm PST Feb. 19 start time, 2am PST Feb.20 end time.

It starts on the 19th and finishes on the 20th. So the housing wouldn't unlock until the morning of the 20th.

Just because stories shouldn't be spoiled doesn't mean business plans like this should be too.

It took them 10 days? I mean, we all knew the earliest they would make any kind of announcement was Feb 6, and most of us knew that was highly unlikely. I had hoped this would happen a week ago, but I figured they would probably wait 2 weeks (which is how it turned out).

It's factoring in the time between their announcement for the moratorium (that came prior to the launch of 4.2) to the announcement this morning, so it's definitely more than 10 days. They should've known not only how long that moratorium would be in place before implementing it, but not to keep players in the dark over it.

Well, they announced that there would be a moratorium about a week before 4.2; however, since they also said they would need to monitor the situation with the new wards before they lifted said moratorium, anything before the new wards were launched shouldn't count. I mean, how can they make a decision based on how slowly things are selling before the plots are even available for purchase. Which brings me back to the fact that the wards went live on Feb 6, so the earliest we could have expected any kind of announcement was that day, and it's been 10 days since then.
