I have never, ever seen someone get kicked because they were going too slow. Never.

You might not have seen it but it keeps happening to him and me and if I knew how to take a in-game pic, I could even show you proof. It only happens in 4 person dungeons when BOTH the DPS run off ahead of the tank.
I was going to say it's probably a data center thing...but since we're on the same one, that won't the case. I, like VanilleFang, have never seen someone kicked for being too slow. Disconnecting and being offline for 3+ minutes, yes. Verbally harassing others, yes. Refusing to do anything, yes. But not once for going to slow.
Hmmm, I have played this game for 7 years now and never seen a kick for being too slow except in the cases where not only do they pull only 1 pack but they stop and slllloooooowllly mark each mob when their are 2 aoe dps.
So since its not something anyone really experiences and its happening repeatedly to just your friend, maybe its time to take a look at what he is doing. You may not want to hear it but my guess is if you are experiencing it frequently its prob not the community, as this is not an issue for really anyone else.
So I don't think we are getting the whole story here...
I got kicked yesterday when someone dced said something about not able to pull my weight ! I should of reported it!! But I didn't really care! I figured the group was squishy anyways !! When they said I was lazy!!

I mean... he does do small packs of enemies but he does no less than at least 7 enemies, usually gathering two groups of enemies at once. I don't see how that's a problem but he can't target a whole room at once because of his controller. I use PC but he says he can only target but so many on consul thanks to him not being able to see too many enemies. I am a little weary of how it works on Consul compared to PC but I don't believe he's lying. We've done way too many dungeons together and each time he's had to Tank more than 12 enemies, he's never been able to get to the others or just doesn't notice them.
So I don't think it's because he won't pull many mobs. And he doesn't know how to mark enemies on Consul. I usually mark them for him. If I have time too between healing.
This isn't really a good excuse though. I've played both Console and PC. The issue isn't Console vs PC but Controller vs Kb/M. While cycling targets does stink using a controller, it shouldnt have any affect if hes using his aoe enmity attacks and buffs properly. You also can mark pretty easily on console, whether by maco or hitting square on the current target you want hit.
If hes targeting too many things (say party and enemies) you can change this in your settings. It takes some time but you can tweak it to a usable configuration for controller, esp with the newer UI options.
>>Played on PS4 with controller and Kb/M for seperate things (typing, clicking on dead people in other alliances)
>>Currently playing on PC with controller, Kb/M for same usage.
Yes This just happened to me now I got a screenshot of some of the convo, Was running sunken temple of qarn with a new person who I was trying to explain the doom mechanic to on the first boss tank said ' hurry up bitches you dumb ass" yelling at me and the new healer, I tried to kick him because of the harassment on the sprout. Throughout the dungeon he was saying he can just leave and instant queue in 30 mins later He then proceeded to vote kick me and the other dps in the party was his friend and they removed me on the final boss. Vote kick is abused and I am starting to see a rise of elitism in the game. I am a min i level sync player, experienced but also very patient with new players which some of these people are not.
I have since blacklisted the two players and hopefully will not encounter them again.
@Darty123 -- While I'm sorry that happened to you, you cannot claim that one kick equals a rise in vote kick abuse though. If this was a trend that was occurring with increased frequency every time multiple people played the game (I say this because you cannot use the experiences of one individual to demonstrate a trend), maybe. But one instance is not enough to say that the Vote Dismissal feature is consistently abused.
Vote kicks have a number of factors in them but the main one is player personalities. Most of the time people are understanding and could care less if you are going slow or make a few mistakes. Where this falls apart is when there are jerks in the party. Votekicking isn’t from an RP personality it’s from the jerk behind the keyboard. In mmos there are times where real life and gaming personalities can clash and this is one. If you get kicked, calm down, take a few breathes and q again. I guarantee you will find a better group
Unless, you are the jerk.....then just chill out and remember that your life has been good enough that you can afford to play an mmo. Be nice to people. It will come back to you.
if a run is that bad, people can abandon it or tough it out. people aren't mature enough for this power, and it is abused for the wrong reasons 9/10 times
Since I have played, I have ever only vote kicked 2 people, and that was because they went AFK/LD and they didn't come back after about 5 minutes. But I've not seen anyone be vote kicked or been a part of one for any other reason.
i become my "best" kick from 3 french players. they decided that they dont want to play the dungeon and wait 5 minutes to kick me. i told them that i report this cuz they waste time of other players. the short answer was: do it we dont care cuz we pop up directly into the next roulette. i was a dps btw.
special thanks to this 3 frogs for beeing the biggest trash if ever saw in this game o/
Unfortunately blacklist does not prevent you from being grouped with that person again. It really needs to though.
I have blisted jerks and macro dialog/emote spammers in pts on multiple occasions just to get them again either that same day or the day after.
Why SE didn't incorporate into the blacklist function a way to prevent you from getting grouped with that person again is beyond me. That seems like the only real reason for being able to do it cross world to begin with.
It's the nature of the beast. This has very rarely happened to me in MMO's, but it does happen when being the minority. I do not believe this means the system is broken. If you're finding yourself being kicked often, I would re-evaluate the way you talk with your party or how you're playing your class before blaming the vote kick. Just my two gil.
I've never seen it happen but I'm not going to say it doesn't happen. I've seen how people react ingame when a question is asked in dungeons and it can go from helpful, to silence, to rage instantly. I've seen all those kinds of replies in various difference dungeons. Yeah 9 times out of 10 does seem like ALOT, but who knows. He very well might have the shittyist luck ever. Wouldn't be the first time I've sen insane crap happen to someone that was unbelieveable.
I have very rarely seen this abused. If someone is kicked it is mostly because they deserve it because of afk or the group keeps wiping and a tank cant hold threat, a healer cant keep the tank healed or a dps is constantly pulling mobs ahead of a tank and doesnt stop.
I have been kicked for good reasons and a few that made me scratch my head. Good reasons are for being impaired and having threat, healing or a being dead too much problem.... or was afk for longer than planned because of said impairedness or RL responsibilities cropping up.
The few that confused me was once Tanking normal Gubal Library, the rest of the group kept wiping due to the book turn so with 30% left on the boss i just soloed it, then on the next trash pull i was a bit more confident than i should have and pulled too many mobs...after the wipe i was kicked. The other one, i was a dps in a stormblood dungeon, the run went really well, until we got to the last boss and got i booted with no warning, no reason i could see.
I can see how it may be abused and hopefully in those cases it is looked at and punished but those cases are very very rare, if you are getting booted constantly then there is probably something else going on you dont see or your on at a bad time that coincides with some trolls on a bad server. As for removing it....no that would allow even more abuse IMO
