This needs to be done for sure, considering its iconic in the old final fantasy games. Plus another glamour option, I wouldn't say no to that
/visor is only for headgears. That would mean the robe have to change into a 2-slot gear. And that mean that it will occupy the headgear slot.
For now the hood on the robe is just design and the whole gear need a remake to function as a 2-slot gear, with the WHM headgear fusioned into it for /visor off. This also mean that WHM will get 1 AF gear less than the other jobs
SE answer to it was AF2 (hood seperated from the robe)
Problem with the AF2 for WHM's is that it's hideous (and doesn't look good on my Roe) and the hood doesn't match the AF1 robe. The AF1 looks good on all races of any gender and since mobs can wear the hood, I don't see why SE can't just re-release the AF1 again, but with the hood up (as a Gold Saucer prize).
Exactly they don't need to make /visor work on it but just give us a version with the hood up. I would tie it to the level 50 quest tho like the original healer robe so people can buy it at the calamity salvager. Just do the same they did with the Allagan Replica gear and give it barely any stats so people use it for vanity only.
I need this for my alt! I was really disappointed I couldn't have the hood up back when I first became a White Mage in 2.0. I would definitely go back to using my old white mage outfit if I could have this! ;u;
..This was a highly requested thing in XI during its prime as well. The WHM hat(Healer's Cap or something) was a rather insulting design frankly, and while there were full hooded robes, as in this game, all the robes with a hood "glued" to the back were not converted into hoods if that makes any sense.
Don't think it's going to happen in this game either. I like the Orison set though, as I think they were going for the old school WHM(old school FF) look, and the hood is cool, but then I like wearing glasses :P.
It's a nice thought, I cant see them wanting to waste dev time on reworking ARR gear, though. Seems like they have much more pressing things to worry about, plus SE tends to just forget about gear more often than not, but if they ever reuse it for dungeon gear or something it'd be a fun addition.
