THM lore makes no sense...

As for magic, I do not believe that humans themselves can use magic, instead they call on demons who do acts to make people believe its magic. There is evidence of this in the bible but, this is not a discussion on religion. Though the question if Magic in the sense of humans casting spells is real is denied by science, We DO KNOW for a fact that people in the past have practiced forms of what they called 'magic'.

IMO this is how DoM classes -> jobs should be:
Druid(CNJ) -> WHM
Warlock(THM) -> BLM
Evoker(DoM that summons elementals to fight for them)(PS, if they change CNJ's name, it would make this class easier to name.) -> SMN (Summons Avatars to battle. NOT PRIMALS)
Arcanist (Debuff/Buff and Water nuker) -> ????
Tamer (Charms mobs to act as pets) -> BST (Certain charmed mobs can be mounted and used for battle this way.)

And, that would be the five DoM classes to start off with. Would probably add RDM or BLU later once Musketeer is released for DoW.

I'd prefer:

Druid >> WHM
Wizard >> BLM

Other options could be Elementalist or merely Mage.
Not a fan of Warlock though, it has always had a bit of an villainous connotation to me...

As far as the other classes you mentioned. (Yes Please) *obviously ;)

Meh, I chose Warlock becauseof the dark implications the name gives.

I think the names we currently use for mage classes are perfect as they are :)

I agree with everyone here. Although the phrasing once did make sense (CNJ were more precise with their spells, while THM were more indirect, with debuffs, etc), it no longer does, and it should be addressed in some storyline way.

All they have to do is add in a few lines, or a tiny quest, to explain the change. "THM and CNJ were once known for this, but because of [recent storyline event], they have been forced to change," or something like that...

This is a good way of saying it but, make it so that the change happened before we, the adventurer(s), came to Eorzea. So that, we never knew the old ways.
