This sort of thing is fun, as a novelty, and for a time it's amusing, but it shouldn't become permanent it should be kept as part of the event.

Could a "throw" emote at least be implemented to replace this? Just remove the snowball tossing animation. Right now throwing a snowball at an NPC just shows a throwing animation with the text, no snowball. Keep this, get rid of the snowball animation and impact. Bring it back around once a year during Christmas.

They should definately switch it out for other things during the year! like rocks, water balloons, lalafells, etc! We were always missing a /toss like we had an XI and this fit the part and improved on it! No matter if changes to something else, we need to be able to throw something.

I can't tell you how many times I've snowballed ifrit so I bet he is happy to hear this news.

It would be nice if we had seasonal emotes like water balloons in summer and snowball back when winter comes around next year. What . I feel weird throwing snowballs with no snow on the ground so maybe make the game change based on what season it is.

I can't believe it. First SE says that will hear the players feedbacks and now, when all people said that /snowball should be left untouched, SE decides to remove it... :mad:

...actually while I orginally giggled with glee every time I threw a /snowball or saw one thrown... now it has gotten a little old. I'd prefer 'Event' emotes to come and go with each event. I'm sure the GM reporter characters would too... Also, SE maybe give the reporters a /snowball shield or something....poor kids are getting clobbered

In WoW, snobwalls could be thrown at any time, as long as you posessed actual snowballs. It was possible to craft a machine which would produce one snowball a day that could be used year round- during the winter events you could buy hordes of snowballs, the machine is the only way to get them outside of the event.

Whats so great about it? There isn't even a snowball involved in the animation, should just be made into /toss.

Aw, I happened to have liked the /snowball emote a lot...

It made things a little more playful and it helps gets the attention of players who are "Ninja AFK". There was an instance where I was running in Gridania, from the Adventurer's Guild, and a player I didn't even know started tossing snowballs at me and another player (whom I did not know). It was fun teaming up to pelt him back for a brief moment before waving and running off. I liked that.

Speaking of emotes... the aspect of the Snowball getting "Ninja AFK" players' attention, I think we should actually have a specific emote that makes a (somewhat) loud noise. Maybe </whistle>? Uses the same sound as PUG's <Taunt>? Yeah... I think we need that. Lol.

Edit: On second thought, for </whistle> make an exclamation mark jump once at the top of the person's head so that they know that it was them who's being whistled at. Kind of like the snowball splash.

I love the snowball emote but I'd rather them take it away, because it'll help get us excited when the winter events come around next year.

As long as they give us /waterballoon im fine with it. The summer event last year was actually pretty dull compared to what I was expecting with SEs track record on how their mmo summer events in the past have gone.

maybe we might get /waterbomb in the summer !

Well depending on the event, you never know when it may pop up again in some form or another. ;)

Though it could be weird to just have a throwing motion without actually throwing something, but we’ll look into seasonal things to pair with the throw animation.

Though maybe not using the throw animation, we would like to look into something similar where you can project something at another player. (Like throwing confetti on their head, for example)
