I would like to add metallic jet black, metallic royal blue and metallic midnight blue into the my want list.
As far texture goes, how about adding a leather dye version and a cloth dye version into the mix. There are times when I want to mix items and because their textures are different and dyed the same, it looks different like the Ghost Barque set of Striking. It has a leather coat and a cloth bottom, but dyes look different on them. I think we should have a dye that changes leather to cloth and vise versa to help with this.
We shouldn't be asking for new dyes, we should be asking for a new dye system. The "loyalists" on here would probably point out that SE makes money on Mog Station and they so dearly need those dollars, while maybe some of our starving artists would prefer a proper palette system. Do color like any other game that isn't interested in milking cash and understand that no mmo economy needs dyes to run properly.
rainbowwwwwwwwwwwww
Metallic Pastel Pink, Metallic Pure White, the exact shade of red for Lyse's signature uniform....
I can't pick an exact colour because I pretty much want everything (although, I agree that blue/green have the overwhelming advantage here, and that's as a player whose main's signature colour is blue.)
What I do want is a way, as was mentioned, to match gear that's provided. Half the time it's a red or blue or purple or even brown that's a few shades or hues off of any dye we have, and that's so, so disappointing. I get that dungeon sets "match". I also know that I rarely ever want to use an entire set, and it's a disappointment when, yet again, I have to dye everything except my new top white/grey/brown/black in an attempt to at least get some sort of colour balance going on, since I can't match the exact shade of red/blue/whatever.
Going to throw another vote on the pile for a regular, vivid red. None of the reds already provided match the red that is used on gear that keeps being implemented. The result is you cant dye other pieces to match, it's a pain.
I'm unfamiliar with most other dye systems as the other MMOs I have played didn't have them. FFXIV has a palette system which has some issues which could be addressed by expanding the current number of colors/dyes of their palette. I definitely feel these colors should be provided for free.
Now, one suggestion which really caught my interest is the idea of having dyes work like fruit does for chocobos. That would allow us far more ability to customize our color choices that ever before. Other suggestions, such as textures, saturation, and glossiness could be folded into the "chocobo system" with the inclusion of additional dyes as well.
Anyways, it's important to keep in mind that a lot of work goes into running an MMO and SE's employees deserve to be paid for the work they do. The cash shop is clearly there to keep the monthly subscription fee down. What you call milking cash is, in reality, a pragmatic way to make certain this MMO remains both profitable and in operation.
Gradients from one color to all the colors of the rainbow would be wonderful! But, how could such a multihue dye be implemented? It's perplexing.
Metallic or glossy black and white.
More reds and pinks. A bright metallic red and a metallic light pink. A bright non-metallic magenta (the shade of the metallic purple) would be nice too.
More purple, violet and lavender shades and also metallic versions.
I want to see dyes that match the colors on stuff that there are no dyes to match for, like how there are several different forms of black that are tinted blue or brown or green but there is no black to match them. There also need to be some more reds and purples, those are both really short. I also wouldn't mind a white that isn't locked behind the cash shop or retainers, but that also actually is white. Even snow white is just off-white. It's fine if it's not pure white, but at least soot black still passes for black. Snow white looks like it needs a wash. I know, its just opinion, and you could say the same about soot black, but still. That's just what I would like to see.
i would love a dye that slowly shifts though every colour, would be nice for a disco or some weps.
More subscriptions keeps the subscription cost down. The cash shop has been around for a while, dyes have not always been sold on it. Adding a new item to the Mog Station does not suddenly have some huge effect on a sub price that has not changed in 4 plus years. To claim that a basic game mechanic requires monetization for the game to thrive is very illogical.
EDIT: Approaching your MMO customers like a business issue is not a fruitful endeavor. Pragmatism should not be preached when this is already a rerun of a game. Be benevolent towards the players instead of milking them for cash. It is by our grace that SE can even make cash off FF14: A Realm REBORN.
Obviously I'd also be in favor of more shades of red!
I was going for a western feel today but noticed there's not really any good dyes for brown. So it was like rip. trying to get a chest/coat to match Survival hat.
There are so many metal colors that aren’t dyes yet, and even shades of white that aren’t dyes either. For example there is a shade of white that the Skallan Coat of Healing seems to have, but I can’t get any other gear pieces to be dyed the same color. Even the green and orange is unique. It’s infuriating.

Would be cool to see Solar dye color.
They told us that is impossible to make a item receive 2 colors (I only can imagine the dye system is very bad developed to make this impossible).
But how about a 2 colors dye?
The difference? Simple, instead the item have two slots for color, the dye itself is the two color, like a Pink-black dye.
Some cloths in the game already receive "2 colors" when we dye with one, like the Chinese dress. The original color are Red and white, but if you paint with jet black dye, it's receive back and gray. The gray part could be replaced for the second color of the new 2 color dye.
I know it's fairly unfeasable and would lead to some absulutely garish dye jobs, but I'd like to see them split the dye up into just overarching colors (red, blue, yellow, green, etc) and then have sliders to make more specific shades. You'd likely also need to have a "save color preset" button so that you can dye multiple pieces the same color easily.
Not only dye for clothes, but I would love to have more hair colour options, alot of races + genders lack a red hair colour.
Metallic Pink
Indigo
Oil Sheen (You know black with a Rainbow when light hits it a certain way)
Coeurl Print Dye.
I would like to see colors like those on some armor pieces. There are some pieces of gear with a red default color but that red doesn't exist as a dye. Or like the purple on the Shisui casting top, or the "black" on it which isn't a real black and neither soot black, jet black, nor dark purple etc. look like that. The same for white. Snow and pure white aren't enough when some pieces of gear just have a different white that can't be dyed. Also, non-metallic versions of the metallic dyes.
