You mean other games that were designed with that feature in mind from the start? If only FFXIV had that luxury, we'd probably not have what we have.

More wards: not really that much in favor of. Not with the system how it currently is.

Instanced housing: yes, I sign off on this 100%. And I'm not talking about apartments when I refer to instanced housing. I mean a small instance that includes both the yard and a small-large house. Every feature of the housing system in its own contained space.

I also think the current wards should be in place still.

After the immensely poor/lazy decision to just cram personal housing into the same space as FC housing, it's basically impossible to separate them now
The only real solution without scrapping and rebuilding the entire hot mess is more districts, preferably a scaleable system where a world generates more districts when supply gets low enough... but that is probably too much like hard work and investment for SE.

High population or low population everyone should have equal opportunity for a house. It is a part of the main game so should be treated like a part of the main game. If only 100 out of 15000 people could get savage gear the server would flip.

So you have a mansion good for you glad you could clarify that to the huge community of people who would love one but can't get one because of a poorly incorporated design. Why don't you buy an apartment and tell me how satisfying it is to decorate. They are tiny and that's an understatement.

Even though these are great ideas people love walking around in wards, it gives a sense of community. I feel like a lot of people wouldn't mind apartments as long as they were up-gradable. Maybe add a lobby that leads to the garden for player interactions.

If I released a game for a payed for sub and made something like housing a part of the main game then it should be accessible to all. Even if a person can't afford it now they "should" be able to in due time.

i like the idea of having an option for apartments to upgrade to a bigger size

change the garden furnishing to be indoor or outdoor, so people can garden without owning a house... that would alleviate many issues and make many people happy to do more content without having to have a real house

what's easier? a few QoL fixes or getting loads of servers for X amount of $$$'s?

do the easy fixes first and take a look at what the loads are afterwards

and give apartment owners any other feature a house can utilize so it's just a matter of being in an apartment block versus owning an entire house you may or may not want for actual size versus the utility it can provide

i think that would be a happy medium

people could get into basic housing easier for their needs without having to go broke, that is a huge plus and would divert people who only want a place for all the cool features to utilize versus a person who wants a fully functional house for more space and a yard

Yoshida, please fix the housing. We all want one. Some of us have saved hundreds of million and have been waiting years (2 here) and still no house!!!!!!! That's unacceptable. Do you even care?

The rush for housing, and the resellers, and the sheer heartbreak many players experience of saving for months is ridiculous. It's even worse for FCs, where MULTIPLE people are let down by a failed attempt.

signed - something needs to be done. No it won't make most people leave but I expect a hit to be taken from this. Lots of folks were looking forward to housing, myself included. Yet here I am 3 years down the road and my FC still has no house to show for it and no real use for the gil we raised just for a house.

It is silly .. no there is ZERO excuse for free to play mmos to get housing and manage to have it open to everyone who wants a house yet a sub game cannot figure it out.

Apartments and housing are hardly the same, here have a garden, but you, no you can have a box.

They'll never add more ward because of the server limitation.
SE is too busy trying to fix the mess that FFXV is by making a 2nd dlc rather than pumping a bit of money into something they dont care.
They never really cared for what the comm wanted and it's been an issue since ages. They know that housing are highly demanded and yet never bother to do any sort of fix or work.

As for today, they should roll back the server to give people an actual chance and not give the handful that got in and took pmuch every plot with their main and alt all of the housing.

Honestly if they could have kept the original gil prices for Shirogane, it would be less cut-throat. I remember a small being 16mil back then. My medium in LB got hiked from 40mil to 26mil because no one wanted it cuz of how lonely it is...and I worked hard so why not. I bought it. The.. "Eorzean Dream".
They cant do more wards because that means more money and fixed cost on keeping this game alive if player quotas arent met.
Instances is a cool idea, but if they're not ganna go for that idea, then just please don't make it any more cheaper for housing. Making it cheaper would create a crowd of people fighting for scraps because everyone was able to afford one.

The Shirogane house I planned to nab was for my Free Company. Didn't make it. We worked pretty damn hard for this with a lot of contributions from many members and team effort.
Should work on limiting it on per character + per server. You have 8 characters in Gilgamesh? Well how about you can choose 1/8 to own a house instead of 8/8.

I'll gladly sign for this. Shirogane was cleaned out instantly on Cactaur. To add insult to injury the log in button stayed red for like 6min when i went to log in then got a 900002 right before I got in and got stuck in queue all over again. All that on top of the taking forever to zone in >=T

I'm unsubbing from the game, because getting a medium house was all I was looking forward to. I'm really angry. I woke up before 3 AM to get this, logged into a 1.7k queue, and then logged in to find everything taken in a matter of minutes. Unacceptable.

All was gone long before we pass the "login trial". No more housing. Years of waiting, 10mn and all is gone.
It's a unfair system, only based on how ferocious we are in competiting with each other.

Honestly I think they need to at least add more divisions for higher populated servers, it's all fair when finding a plot but the login QUE times right after maintenance show they need to add more since housing is so limited and such, while other players can hoard houses on alts and never use them is all fine with square but when it comes to this issue there silent about it lol
