I like it. They could lock the next GC rank behind that, too. It'll be like how we used to get the earlier ranks, but now with a bit more flavor rather than just mindless seal grinding.

Increasing the cap on GC Seals, if they're not giving us a new level soon, would be useful too. For some reason 80k just seems to be an awkward spot & 100k or 120k would be better. As for exchanging then for crafting items to sell - well, I've seen most GC materials to go for <250g, quite a lot of them are at NPC sell rate or lower on the market board. It's not worth the time or effort.
I worry that with everyone "complaining" about having so many seals, SE will just simply easiest option and just reduce how many we get from things.
As someone paying for the full 8 retainers, it's great to be able to actually use them fully. Before 4.0 it was a constant struggle to have enough seals to feed them ventures and even more so once squadrons came out as that was an extra ~1500 a day you needed too.
8 retainers assigned to quick ventures requires 3200 seals/hour. Playing all day (say 10 hours, even though I play for way more...) you need 32,000 seals. A weekend? That's 60-70k seals.
Please don't take the lovely seals away from me :D
Do want more things to buy. Materia, more glamour items, aetheryte tickets, new bardings, etc.
I spam my GC Seals on Recruit Enlistment scrolls. I'm trying to get specific recruits so I basically ... (for example) buy a scroll, do a challenge log entry, buy another scroll. Honestly, I still pretty-much break even, but some days I go through about 20k seals just spamming the scrolls and I make it back by the next week roll over. Haha. I know this is lame and for someone with a lack of other more important things to do, but consider upcoming additions to the recruitment program, maybe it's something you could add into your weekly rotation.
Second the unidentified items for GC seals.
I also support the incentive to let us buy the Allied Seal gear with GC seals, just lock that behind the highest rank of a GC.
I'm not sure on Aetheryte Tickets, either. While it can help some players, the whole shift from anima to gil from 1.0 to 2.0 was to combat inflation (and because anima was a garbage system), and it helps with that.
At this point, gil has long run away to having little value short of an achievement. Unless they do a full gil reset, they may as well not bother trying to make it much more valuable since that only benefits players with hundreds of millions while simultaneously punishing those that have little to spare.
