Hell I can live with Tackle Mastery (Mostly...) if the RNG of our DPS is alleviated, or gone completely.
I was having a pretty good time with level 70 Monk. It's definitely a serviceable job with good damage and a smidge of Utility. I adapted to the RNG, team comp reliance, and the slow caused by Riddle of Fire.
But then I got Samurai to 70 and did one Susano.
I... won't be going back to Monk for a while, I think.
Having fun with MNK yes. I DO wish Brotherhood effected ourselves when we use it though, could really help our personal DPS.
Monk didn't change much, so I still really enjoy the overall gameplay of it. I'm happy with our current state and the numbers we pull.
It could use a few tweaks to make things less clunky, mostly with Brotherhood. Tackles were a terrible addition for a skill overall, so I just try to look at it as a small potency increase for Fire Tackle.
RoF doesn't bother me, it serves a good purpose in our rotation so I can't complain.
I'm having fun doing back to back 15k+ forbidden chakras in my opener and up to 6k+ auto-attacks.
I'm personally looking for a new job to main. Riddle of Fire combined with RNG Chakra generation ruins the feel of the job and it's flow for me. Mained it for almost three years since character creation, but it's just not fun right now.
I was wondering if anyone had played MNK in PVP and had opinions on how it plays there vs PVE?
Currently, if you have 3 GL you unlock 1 chakra per completed combo rotation. Obviously because it's PVP everything has to be sped up to match the pace of that game mode but as a result does MNK now have better identity in PVP?
If say we lost the RNG of deep meditation but rather gained chakra like in PVP at the end of each combo rotation or maybe even after two rotations (provided you're on 3 GL) would that be too much?
Over the lifetime of 4.0 our crit will go up, though. This means our crit chance goes up, and hopefully FC will be popping up just like in PVP
Also, I can see the RoF getting it's speed hastened with a level 71-80 trait
A good suggestion I've heard is every Bootshine crit giving us Chakra. It's not nearly as ridiculous as every Couerl strike, and the change would more alleviate bad RNG rather than over boost our numbers.
the RNG of deep meditation needs to be increased or made to every crit. all i will complain about...good day
I don't think anyone wants to wait 2-3 years for our Job feel to get fixed.
The same with our useless actions, they said they wanted to remove the useless action in Stormblood. They should actually make the actions useful or change them instead of making half hearted appeals at them being useful with traits like Tackle Mastery or changes like One Ilm Punch's dispel being a stun.
Feel like the dev team did come up with good monk ideas but Ivon Coeurlfist barged in, decked the devs in the face, and took all the good stuff with him to the Temple of the Fist laughing all the way.
i personally prefer to them change the punishment from using RoF, rather than wait 2-3 years to lower it, dunno, like, when used it decreases your critical hit chance by 50% or something like that(of course i am not saying what that could be the punishment, or in that amount, is just a idea), the skill speed punishment is dumb and bad, since makes monk unfun as soon as you use RoF
monk is all about hit as fast as posible whit weak-ish attacks, there is already a slow hitter in the game, and is dragoon, and i prefer what monk don't hit as slow as dragoon, it was one of the few reasons i never liked dragoon(the other was because of their insane long rotation)
