I know that you shouldn't have to avoid spoilers on forums and shame on OP- but sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands and realize that someone out there will be trashy and ruin it for you.

I recommend avoiding sites where FF14 is the primary focus until you're done the story!

That's not really the point, I'm not clicking on any lore posts, and I thought this post was entirely about Susano. The fact is that this post is entirely about Susano and the spoiler was simply a casual name drop.

I don't mind people talking about spoiler topics, but this post was deceptive.

Except that's the entire point. Going onto the game's main forum, to General Discussion (the epicenter of all forum activity), and then expecting to not get spoiled in any random given thread... it's like going on YouTube, watching a guide to some section of the new content and then posting a comment complaining that you've been spoiled. It's inevitable that it would happen, it's just basic common sense.

Not to mention that this thread's title is nothing to go on. This mechanic has existed since A11, and there's plenty of MSQ content that shows they have no intention of stopping it.

All I did was ask the OP to spoiler tag and make it clear that this thread is discussing lore spoilers as well as mechnics. I got spoiled, I'm not bitching about it, but I'm asking for this to be respected so that what happened to me doesn't happen to anyone else. Can we not make this about my actions?

Is this thread serious...? As many others have said already, for susano, you can tell someone else to do it -assuming pressing a few buttons relatively quick is too hard for them- and you can avoid it altogether. As for Shinryu...this is a joke right? I mean, i use the A & D spam along with the mouse click and the bar fills up in 0.8 sec. And i dont even tryhard it. Like, in the same pace i use those buttons to freaking move around.... You can literaly place the palm of your hand over the keyboard and press down all the keys to make it even easier... I find this mechanic interesting and a nice addition to keep you alert during transitions but kinda easier than i would have liked it to be.

Actually my friend who plays a tank loves it. Gives him something different to do.

I love them honestly. I hope they make it more skill intensive too maybe a fast succession of random keyboard keys.

Not liking the QTE's and other button mashing thingies. That's where you go when you have no good ideas for gameplay design. But if those are what this playerbase wants, so be it. I'll just go play the other MMO's I've been playing on the side then.

For a time there is litteraly a mechanic you can succeed in simply rolling your head on your keyboard, there are still people to complain.
Seriously I even tried to do it with my feet and still succeeded...

Eh, most mechanics can be fun but you have to consider the context of every time you do X instance be prepared to spam left click like you're just jumped into an idle clicker game mentality. I can understand why people wouldn't find that fun. Content like timing it better because you aren't brute forcing to reach the objective rather you are waiting to execute the command at the right moment. AKA Lakshmi fight. I'd much prefer content in which you are given a special item that is required to react to certain mechanics than to have to rapid fire a button before time runs out.

You can use all 8 fingers on buttons, it takes 1 second to fill the gauge, not so much spammy. Made it a lot easier too :P

Here we go people complaining already about the fights.
Zeninryu is by far one of the most amazing boss in this game and can easily bare the title of Final Fantasy Final Boss. Nothing need to change but your pov.

Clearly if you can handle doing rotations and pressing a lot of buttons for a long time, in those conditions, you can handle pressing a button repeatedly. You have to press a lot and click a lot in this game. Your excuse is invalid especially if your rapidly click and pressing your hotkeys. In other words you been rapidly pressing buttons since you started gaming.

Have you ever played Metal Gear Solid 1 where Snake gets tortured?
I'm having a really hard time to fail this mechanic. You can even stop pressing any button in the Susano fight and still succeed.

No I agree with the OP. No game should have button mashing mechanics. I'm ok with the kind of QTE that makes you pay attention to press a random button prompt that pops up, but not the mash any button kind that could wear out whatever input device you are using. Not hating, I love most everything else in Stormblood.

I certainly have no issues with button mashing but trying to target said thing on my PS4 sometimes taking an eternity. Wish it would target an enemy or thing right next to me and not super hard away haha.

Both Susano and Shinryu suffer from this, although its worse with susano.

I came to dread wiping at susano becuase I'd have to repeat this un fun part of the fight.

Don't get me wrong, the rest of these battles are great but the button spam needs to be entirely re thought.
