I tanked all through ARR and have healed thus far from the arse end of HW up until today: I've found the above to be true but what's also true is if the dps get pissy enough you can drop duty, eat your penalty, re-queue and probably be back in a dungeon before they get a replacement. Even if not it beats helping people that trigger happy with F bombs to complete goals.

If people act like uncivilised children over minor things Ive got better things to be doing tbh...

"Tanxiety" is a great word. It's true too; one of my friends deeply loves tanking but had such a crummy time in DF he went DPS on his main.

In my case I main healer but don't roulette because life is too short, and in any case, at the moment I'm busy with PVP. Which is also starved for healers - 24-man teams with 23 DPS players are a thing at the moment as everyone scrambles to play RDM and SAM. You could always try levelling two jobs; there's plenty of experience points for both in SB.

No new tnk or healer what you think will the shitbe faster?it will be 30min -1h+ for a long time.what you can do is look forva tank.there bad people like me that take gil for it but from what people in game say lots willing to do it for free.

there is a simple solution: play healer or tank

I've had a lot of people in my FC swap from Tank/Healer to RDM/SAM as well. its a mixture of problems

Well sam is the top dps to take now.full aoe rotation in a big pull meta.what can you do.se just show they dont know whats going on in the game.

This is why two new dps classes was a bad idea.

To be fair, they've been very generous with exp sources that don't depend on tanks and healer. PotD is still there, and PVP especially just dumps tons and tons of exp on you.

Msq shinanigans aside, you could have 9 tanks and healers and 3 or 4 dps, and most players would still play dps. It's a pretty solid fact that most people don't want the stress/complications of playing a tank or healer. Especially when they tend to get blamed for any and all problems in party situations. So most play dps to just fire away at enemy's.

Yes, another healer and tank or 2 *may* help a bit. But more than likely it'll be current tanks/healers testing out the new tanks/healers.

Also, as a few others have said, I'm a healer. I play sch. But I'm currently occupied getting Sam up as it's an amazing class I've been waiting for. And I probably won't touch my healer much outside of friends asking for help with lower stuff that Ill run

Yesterday I up my monk 70lvl.
But, problem MSG "StormBlood" in The Royal Menferie, trial. Many wiped, so people first time....Same me. But, I got learned it.
I would wait one week when people learn it...

I've never once waited that long. Longest is like 40 something? Not great but there is so much to do while waiting it's not even an issue.

I can't say I've really noticed a problem with queue times.

Man of course the Queues are even longer for a DD now.. Since the new job classes which are leveled now by 90% of the people are damage dealers only.

There is no new healer or tank class. So of course the queue should be higher than normally for a dd so shortly after SB launch.
You will see this is going to be back at normal in one / several week(s).

Though the dd queue will ever be longer.

And there is an other solution for you: get a guild and group up with them. Problem solved.

I've never understood the anxiety over tanking, it's never been insanely hard, and I've not once gotten criticism in about thirteen years of doing it except sometimes when I'd get carried away with some huge pulls.

People should give it a try, it's fun and you generally get to set the pace of the dungeon

Most people don't like leading, and there's the chance that you get assholes who either berate you for not pulling enough or berate you because you pulled too much and caused a wipe.

I have no problem tanking for friends though.

A problem I had not foreseen...

Because the new jobs start at 50, and the 50/60 roulette exists, low level queues have been all but nonexistent. My husband waited as a tank for over 45 minutes on an alt. I tried to queue for leveling roulette on a baby healer alt and waited a similar time before I had to simply withdraw because there were other things demanding my attention outside the game at the time.

Just need more people willing to step back form DPS and try tanking/healing. Then again, when they put new awesome DPS jobs, it does make it hard for people to want to do that. I can see why healers and tanks are needed for dungeons, unless they make story quest dungeons not need healers and tanks, I doubt they will take off the restriction. You could find some people to join up with, and try it that way. I'm sure there are some people that would be willing to help.

There isn't many people that do that. I've only had it happen twice when people berated me for not pulling enough. Simply ask them if they'd like to tank, it tends to shut them up. :3 As for taking too much, that's really only an issue if you can manage your CD and if you trust your healer. xP If you fail, and they get mad, just say you're testing your ability with the current healer, and you out stepped your bounds. Don't resort to blaming anyone, though.

well let me say something.

The problem i see with healers/tanks is not the fact that you get blamed, i always leveled up 1dps / 1 tank / 1 healer role since beta of this game, because i like to know every role in every fight in game. Stickin to one role only will just make you a lazy worse player than knowing more jobs.

That said. My concern is the need of party to complete the MSQ. MSQ should be solo to avoid this crap.
Now the problem that exists between jobs is the fact that both healer and tank are extremely boring, flat repetitive and uninteresting to play, at least for me, with healer being a bit more hectic at a times.
Tanking in this game spamming 1 2 3 to get your enmity rotation combo, throwing randomly an axe to get hate, or a provoke here and there isnt going to cut it. These classes are really boring.
When i read they were reworking jobs on stormblood i expected a bit more, but had basically 0 faith since Yoshi wont understand that this game needs a different format.

So yeah, here we are, 1 week after? Queue times for expert for dps are 30+minutes, every primal extreme already killed, msq finished, jobs are basically the same with nerfs left and right, and we are back at square one (as i said in other thread months ago), farming tomestones over and over and over again.

Frankly you'd expect more from Square Enix, or im just dumb to think they could actually have fresh ideas. Heavensward was a great expansion way better than this one, Stormblood is just a "refresh" of everything that is old and boring since months now.
Probably not the game for me hence why i'll let this sub run out and be done with it. Shame because it could have been a really great opportunity.
