Rerolling to a miner because I heard every battle class is terrible now and no one should play them.
I have been tanking for two years now, before that I was a Healer in ARR so I am gonna start my very first DPS main in Stormblood as RDM. This class looks like so much fun to play.
I may be switching from a Main MNK to a SAM. Either way, I'm getting MNK to 70 first as it's my current main and I'm hard-pressed to give up this easily. But from the look of the changes, more than likely switching to SAM main as it will be the second class I level to 70.
NIN like always is a bit odd to figure out, not all their skills are quite straight forward so I was dubious...
But looking again they seem to have a new opener with quite the monstrous potency, and I really wanna test it out.
It feels like the GCD cycle is a bit lackluster tho, so I may enjoy jobs with a bit more GCD activity like MNK and SAM right after.
Rerolling from MNK to probably DRG.
I'll be going SAM first then RDM on a separate character. I'm staying DPS so no real change in roles.
I always like to get 1 tank 1 heal and 1 dps to max first. I think for 4.0 I'll go pld, ast, rdm.
Am I the only one here that's sticking with Monk? :/ I actually wasn't too impressed with Samurai after watching it in action.
Rerolling to Samurai. It was my main in FFXI and I've been waiting years for the job to be released in this game. :)
I was WHM in 1.0, SCH/BLM in 2.0 and SCH/SMN in 3.0. I'm not really a fan of the proposed changes to SMN and SCH, so I'm thinking of swapping to AST and SAM in Stormblood. I'm not very good at playing melee so I might end up being BRD or RDM for a dps instead.
The new jobs ;)
Samurai first and a good chance I stay on that for a while.
Will level BLM and RDM, let's see how it turns out...
Rerolling from SMN to RDM.
Samurai till the day I die. I finished out my FFXI career as a samurai, I was waiting for it here and it's why I'm coming back at all. That and the "possible" changes to how raids work. The formula got super stale after I was working in the first AS turns... same stuff over and over....
The more I watch RDM the more verexcited and verhyped I am to play it.
Ayeeee :3
Definitely staying smn/whm as main for story & raids. Aside of that SAM & BRD over RDM. Never the less most of the cls promo vids seem interessting... MNK & NIN will follow just because they fit the SB environment <3
Although I got an ilvl 270 DRK with Anima i most probably won't focus on any Tank in this expansion... maybe for pvp but not for dngs/primals/raids.
Keeping my DRG for MSQ but do plan on checking out SAM and NIN for sure!
Gonna main both Samurai and Red Mage. Samurai for my main character along with Ninja and Monk, and Red Mage for my alt along with Black Mage and White Mage. I've been playing three classes each for my two characters each since ARR launch, but this time I have the PURRFECT line up for them all! Complete Eastern theme for my main and complete colored mage team for my alt! It's gonna really fun for me to play them all when SB comes out! :D
What is that!? Is that the new Summoner!?!?!!?!?! 8O
Yup... but you an only do it once every 3 Dreadwyrm Trance cycles.
Basically you'll have to do 2 Normal Dreadwyrm Trances... each seperated by a 60 second recast timer on the Aetherflow... and then AFTER that... you get the Bahamut Egi for roughly 20 seconds... and then are back to normal damage (in this case nerfed damage).
The normal Summoner damage got nerfed really bad for the rest of the time you play... so for about 20 seconds every 3 minutes or so you get enhanced damage... but the rest of the time you'll be doing nerfed damage and unable to compete with the other caster classes.
So in the long term Bahamut won't make much difference in overall DPS...... and you won't see it very often.
But hey... it sure looks KEWL doesn't it?
It's kind of a sucker play for shallow people to bite on.
Silver? Just stfu okay? Still spreading this dps-overall-nerf-bs although Happy and other reddit-crafter analysed the burst structure let u look even more clueless. please just stop this.
Even though it's not his cls hes way more cable of to see things through, while analysing STRUCTURES behind skills/systems, not to mention that hes top tier theorycrafter and member of worlds first progress in raids. Anyway it's senseless to talk with you any further if you question Someone like him. ciao.
Thank you both for the info, but please don't fight over this. Whether nerfed or not we'll see how the SMN class plays once we actually play the game. Honestly, to me, I don't think the SMN nerf is going to be as overkill as we think like how WHM was revealed. But that's opinion, so lets just look forward to the rebuolt class and see how it is later on release, kay? :D
I said more than once that he just should wait and see. But hes crying and whining in every smn thread again and again - this made me kinda furious .___.
MNK for nerfed life.

Rerolling to Samurai. It seems to be the only melee that still has the complexity that I enjoy.
Anyway, this "wait and see"-approach doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. We got informed that they started looking into the feedback about the perceived underpowered classes, right? So maybe something gets fixed. If you "wait and see", things most likely would not be fixed, and then you'd probably have to wait until 3.1. In addition, having the default attitude that "all the info from the late April(which is NOT a long time ago) build is worthless and it'll be changed" is a bit off. Where it will be changed could still be possible to affect. And it's not even guaranteed that all the things people have problems about will get changed. For instance, what if there is no feedback and an underpowered class gets nerfed even further due to that? If things change, then you reassess and reconsider. But right now, you definitely should treat the media tour information as facts and go by them.
Was thinking of rerolling to RDM but might reroll to BLM instead... very undecided between the two. help? :)
I commend you for being one of few people trying to make sure everyone understands that Silver is full of crap, across multiple threads. Do what you do~
Now to contribute to the thread. I have been PLD since 2.0 but I've been waiting for RDM in this game since the day FFXIV was announced and they put pictures up of all the weird new class types that were coming with this wild new MMO. So I'll have to make the switch...but tanking is a tough mistress to turn your back on, so PLD will probably be the second lv. 70 as they giving them some attention.
idk man... if PLD tanking is anything like it was in 2.0 its going to be pretty boring. PLDs back then were god mode... i was tanking dungeons in my underwear just to give the healers something more to do. I think the swap to RDM will make your life more interesting... though RIP queue times :)
Oh, I see. Well, I only said what I said because I thought arguing endlessly over the content wouldn't solve anything. That's the only reason why I said "wait and see". But I apologize for butting in like that. You had the right to voice your opinion back at Silver. ...My train of thought is sliding away, but I'm sorry for causing you any trouble. ;u;
Very true. Without proper feedback nothing can be done to improve the game. I just said to wait and see because of the endless arguing that was about to occur earlier, but after reading your post I found I was wrong in a way for butting in like that. I apologize again for my silliness. UuU

Back on topic, I now might try to include both SMN and SCH in my two three main class rosters for SB as I want to see for myself how they'll work once the game os released. :)
NIN switching main to SAM, and then trying RDM.
Primary reason is because its a melee sword dps and the skills really look nice.
My only concern is all the weebs cosplaying as Sephiroth or whatever popular katana using game/anime character they can think of.
Nah you havent caused me any trouble and yay if it looks charmy to you, you should try smn/sch no matter what he or i are saying here - everybody should make his own free experience :3
Is that an enlightenment? : O ... cause thats what people thing if they read your propaganda...
Hah, I've been weening myself off of queue times by rotating DPS classes for a while. PLD/DRK themselves aren't particularly engaging in any iteration up to this point (I love tanking regardless) but RDM should be my true calling though. Will find out in a few days.
I'm rerolling from AST/SMN to RDM. Started with Bard when they were mobile in ARR, moved on to Astrologian and Summoner in Heavensward because they both offered support and didn't get distracted by movement as much as the alternatives. Now I'll give Red Mage a shot, because they too are mobile and offer support. If lag affects chainspell too much I'll change back to my original main, Bard. I might also try tanking as a Paladin.
I've been a summoner since 2.0, I will probably stay with it. AST and BRD lookin real nice too though. I guess I'll have to see what benefits my FC the most and such ^^
Dual-Maining SCH and SMN. I have literally zero desire to mess with the new classes right now. Red Mage is another proc based class, which by default makes it a non stater. Samurai is closer to drawing me in but the deluge of SAM players early on and the ever present god awful DPS quene times make me not want to play.
