Raen Or Xaela

Raen cause white scales are pretty. I like my cute looking lizard girl.

I like both, but skew more towards Xaela in the end. I like the darker scales, and from an "reason to adventure" standpoint it seems more likely to be more Xaela leaving their "home" to strike out on their own to do so compared to the Raens.

Xaela because I like their naming conventions and their color schemes better. I prefer the darker scales and the skintones. Their lore also seems a bit more interesting to me :thinking:.

Never got why people call them reptiles or lizards lol. They're not cold blooded and pretty much nothing about them is reptile like besides scales, which look like a more hardened bone-like structure than actual scales.

Anyway Raen, they look more normal and aesthestic, Male Xaela just look demonic, it would fit my character if I wanted to play as a super edgelord dark knight, female Xaela are much better than the male Xaela imo. Raen scales look more gold to me in-game, and it's beautiful on tanner Raen like meself.

I'm always torn on this. I was raen first, then switched to xaela, then went back to raen. I like the xaela lore more than raen, but I like the raen appearance more for my character because I like how the white horns and tail contrast with my darker hair and eyes (although I dont like how the scales on the body contrast with my tanned skin).

Character/RP wise I just say Dijana is a mixed breed(?) with a raen mother and a xaela father.

From their lore I prefer the Raen and their adventurous side, their adaptability, their openness, and their desire for tranquility It's the same with Elezen, I prefer the Wildwood for the same reasons. Lookwise, I prefer Raen.

And no, I have NO desire to switch from my Elezen to Au ra.

I prefer the Raen. I really like the lighter scales on Au Ra, though plenty of artwork makes me like both types...

Xaela. Their lore is miles more interesting, and I hope to learn more about them in SB. And the diversity of their tribes is amazing.

Xaela! I like their lore a lot and they look more how i imagined the Au'Ra. Raen are nice but i am pretty bad in designing them because of their colourpalett.

On my male Au Ra I prefer Xaela, though I wish I could get the same eye-white and lack of red lines as a Raen on him. I generally find their scales a bit too orange coloured, I would prefer if I could have Xaela scale colour with the guy below.

On my female Au Ra I gravitate towards Raen, it has something very soothing and their scales are a shade or two lighter than the male counterparts.

Though her as Xaela fits perfectly with the DRG AF2 armor. It's almost an extension of her skin and scales.

I would be all for having a scale colour slider! Or having the horns and face separated. But knowing Au Ra are already at the max of customisation options it probably means we'd lose something else in return.

I was Au'Ra for 2 days and couldn't get over her resting b!7$# face LOL, Really wished the horns were a separate feature and not linked distinctly to face types. And sadly, for me the horns i wanted came with resting Bface. I looked mean all the time *cry* Absolutely broke my heart, until Viera came out. Now i just cry over hats. I lover everyones reasons, especially how one person was like "white scales, so angelic" - followed by "I like the Demonic looking one". I'm just over here thankful for the variety.

I was always Xaela. I prefer the dark scales.

Forum moderators are too few to be able to stay ontop of it, and SE refuses to put in any sort of auto-lock feature that makes it so any new posts to a dead thread need to be approved by a moderator before it actually revives a thread(this is wishful thinking on my part, since it would require an actual moderator to read the new post and see if it is relevant to the topic at hand, or if the information is so far outdated it does more harm than good....which is probably why people are necroing threads in the first place)

Xaela because darker scales. I can be edgy.

I like both Mongolian and Chinese Lizard Girls on equal measure. I only wish that horns and face options were seperate ones.

I like Xaela’s lore more but I love Raen for their blue skin shades as they are the only race in the game to get a blue skin that I almost like.

Well, since my ancient ancestor, Trogdore, is Xaela, I stand proud to be counted among the Xaela. By the way, anyone need anything burninated? Anyone? I promise to do only a little burninating. Really!

MY THATCHED-ROOF COTTAGES!

I like both, but I favor Raen a slightly bit, thanks to their lore, as their transition to seclusion and quiet life, resonates with me a lot more.

I just love the way she can be both feminine and fierce. But why did I go with Raen over Xeala? It was less about aesthetics and more about the Mystery and lore. Xeala are an open book, you see them, but Raen are hidden in the mists, and I liked that blub a lot way back when.

They really need to make threads lock automatically once they reach a certain age.

I liked Raen for the lore but Xaela is better aesthetically.

I prefer Raen for their looks and lore, though I like both. Living a life of seclusion and peace resonated with me more, and making a compelling story for my character to be forced out of that tranquility and into the life of an adventurer was a fun exercise. Feminine and graceful was the aesthetic I went for and female Raen captured it perfectly for me.

Lore wise, I prefer the Xaela for their multi culture and their barbaric tendencies. Sadu is my favorite member of the Xaela clan with Magnai being right behind her. I just love the way she cackle and how crazy she is when we fight her! xD Magnai is awesome, but has his funny moments, like with the Y'shtola thing and how he acts in the background when we go to Garlemad in Endwalker. Poor guy really needs help getting a girl to notice him... :'3

The Raen clan, I like for their white scales that you can use to recreate a Sin Eater aesthetic that I've seen alot of Raen females do.

But if I had to go with my overall favorite...it would be the Xaela for the states reasons above. And while I like the Raen's aesthetics more, the lore makes the Xaela far more superior, plus you can make a more demonic looking Au ra with their dark blue scales and skin color options.
