With the new substats they are introducing

They could just get rid of main-stat, element resist, and PVP debuff resist materias. If there are any in your inventory, they get turned into Cracked Materia (exchangable for any materia type of same tier at the Calamity Salvager - like they did in 2.0). Gonna miss my little AP boost from food too :D

drk gona have less button bloat than palidan i find that so strange

From what I can tell it is to get rid of the DpS stance tanking meta and move dps check responsibility away from tanks and back to the dps.

The Vit/Str .45/.45 change was likely done as a stopgap in order to phase out the i150 Strength pentamelded Vit accessories. I suspect that SE saw a lot of "to good" problems with "self-sustain" which is why bloodbath has been moved to the melee dps list.
