I thought the same thing when I first heard this, some parts of the song sound almost identical. But yea, it's the moogle theme though. :P

You guys are all wrong.. it's a re-composition of Little Red Corvette by Prince. It's almost identical look it up.
Your all wrong, its Mog's Theme from Final Fantasy VI (like I've already mentioned and linked...) lol
Just youtube it. its pretty much the same save for the intro, but that is fine by me because it fit perfectly~
im saying its mind boggling to me that anyone on this planet can handle listening to the same song repetitively for more than 5 minutes
ive never once played a single MMO with the games music on. ever. there are times when i play with 0 music, there are times when i play with my own music and there are times when i play while watching something in a little window in the corner.
if the games music had a play list set at least at random then i could tolerate the music. but repetition = terrible nuance IMO.
my comment was meant to be more like "ummm, why are there almost as many comments about music as there are about battle mechanics? the music is that important to them?"
im a DJ so music is very important to me. perhaps thats why im so baffled about this.
People are talking about the music because of a couple things
1) Its a throw back piece from one of the "better" days of Square.
2) It has a Nightmare before Christmas "feel" to it, which in case you were not aware is widely popular among'st human beings.
And since we can only do two things at the moment 1) watch the screen as it changes scenes frequently and 2) listen to the music; the main continuous element is the music, its not being chopped up through out the video (unlike the scenes which are not very long to avoid too many spoilers) so we talk about the music.
Simple as that. Plus its just a really good track.
We have Bind, sleep, paralyze, flash, stun, and blind.
Those imo are all "crowd control" albeit some are way better than the others, they control the actions of a crowd of monsters none the less.
btw the moogle theme, in various incarnations has been very similar to the nightmare before christmas "this is halloween" song, so I think by borrowing similar musical themes they want a very similar emotional response to moogles as you would get from nightmare before christmas, cute-sinister, mysterious, etc.
Nightmare was made AFTER the first incarnation of the Moogle Theme (first appearing in FFV in Dec 1992) while Nightmare Before Christmas was released in 1993. But who knows they were released around the same time, so they both could have been in production thinking up very similar musical notes...might be a case of great minds thinking alike?
anyone else notice the THMs just kinda standing around and not nuking?
will mages EVER be just as useful for DD in party/boss fights?
only saw two instances where the THMs did anything and neither were a nuke.
Just thought i would share something i found comical at around :56 the character named elezen arc was using a lance.
They are being removed and added as an additional effect (as a chance to inflict) now. (chance of enfeebling a boss is prob guna be extremely low)
Well the CNJ had nothing to heal most of the time and you don't waste MP in a boss fight, granted the THM didn't seem very active at all but maybe SE just suck at playing mage classes, its no secret that SE favour melee classes anyway, they did in FF11 as well.Quote:
also youll notice that the ROG CNJ only did 1 self buff the entire video. the other mages were still just standing around not doing much, but they at least did something.
im sad about what the video represents a mages duty in boss battles.
I know but they are still there. And the bind from the Lnc's attack proc's quite often to boot.
only two are being added and they are both by "chance"
so do THM enfeebling traits enhance the chance of them happening? because from what i read stats and traits will not have an effect on how long they last, only whether or not they are evaded.
as of right now i dont see any use for enfeebling traits, literally at all, unless they affect the "chance" of the effect proccing.
Mine usually proc's 1/3 uses. which isn't bad.
