I think those sub races might be easier to create in fan fiction and official lore though. I can't even imagine all the variables needed to be included to make this a function in a game. Get writing on your fan fiction :p.

I don't feel sliders are the way to go. Sliders add too many variables. I think the easiest way for SE is to give us more selections, like more noses, lips, etc... to choose from. That way they can control how much impact character selection has on the game as a whole.
Sliders so cool, and terrifying lol. Black Desert: http://2p.com/37055985_1/The-Most-Be...ted-by-Wei.htm

Seeing as SE/FF games generally control their image very carefully so more panes, and very specific sliders only, may be better. Would like to see better body slider though. Better muscle perhaps via something like a triangle slider where you have the bulk, muscle, size thing some people may be familiar with in other games - so you could be muscular and bulky, or more muscular and slim (or not muscular and the other traits lol).
Aion has a similar thing, where some creations are like "you can do that?" and others.. "you did.. that..".
SE likes their clone factory, no customisation allowed.
Sliders or not we demand more customisation right? I want more hairstyles, faces, scars, eyes, face paints and etc. The servers are being relocated to different place so maybe it is not an issue anymore. I adore the in game character animation and detail. That is one of many reasons I left wow. It's in game character creation is so boring and plain. Don't take me wrong I don't think it's a huge aspect of the game but I think it would be nice to have a little more to choose from. :-)
I would also like to add that I would rather have a collectable tattoos that u can put on your body instead of chest glamour. So far there are 2 that might be covered by your hairs and it's face only.
I think more options would be nice. Though I generally don't change much about my character beyond hair and makeup, I did want to add a scar to show she had been doing her adventurer thing for a while and was showing physical signs of it but sadly the scars available were somewhat underwhelming and barely noticeable. I'm not talking physically deforming but at least noticeable at a glance.
You mean like gear items that are just Tattoos rather than actual character customisation that adds tattoos to the base naked model?
Except the other MMO's are built to be for PC's, FFXIV is more or less built to be for consoles. No console can compete with a current computer or one even three years old regarding what it can display and how heavy of a load it can take. So things have to get axed. I would adore more customization options, but I'm not expecting to see it happening let alone one that is on par with Black Desert Onlines customization.
The way I remember hearing it was WoW was kept simplified because Blizzard wanted people to run the game no matter how good or bad their computer was. If your computer still has an AGP graphics card or a 1080 TI, the game will still run. I suspect SE took a similar approach with its console game build. Keep things simple so the game will run on a PS3, PS4, PS5, PS6 or so on into the future. Blizzard could add sliders and what not, but it would mean possibly losing customers who's computers might not be up to par. No real different from FFXIV, they could add sliders and such I would think. Just at the risk of losing customers who's PS3's and PS4's are now puddles of hot lava on their floors.
Pretty much all of Blizzard games are designed this way too, an exception of Diablo 3(my laptop can play FFXIV reasonably well but chugs when there are a lot of things on the screen in Diablo).
There can be more character creation options without straying too far from consoles though.
I want more sliders for faces, eyes, nose, etc.
And I was hopping see an body slider too. Because always that you put max or minimum height on your character, the body's scale too not only the height. I never like that. :/
