Moar faction grinding for you!

Saw an earlier post about the items being vanity only; this doesn't seem to be the case, at least with the gatherer tools. I'm not complaining though because the battle classes are more or less taking the spotlight now. This is a good way for DoH/DoL to get some useful items.

I dunno, I can see them temporarily skyrocket as people try to take advantage of the new achievements regarding them. You're right though, it probably won't be hard to find someone with the pieces you can trade for just to get the achievement.

buccaneer stuff going for 1-2mil still
harl and templar for 200-400k

Lodestone history already keeps track of when you trade items with Rowena, I believe.

If that's the case, you may only get the achievement when you trade your runestones for each piece of a set, not just equipping someone else's.

Well, my OCD mind has effectively been satiated for the next year...

Hope they come up with a some Achievements that aren't just number counter though. Still, looks good to me.

I definitely agree that it would be very nice to have a clarification on this from the devs. I am also extremely excited for the acheivement system, but I just finished the storyline quests, and I would be so demotivated if I had to create a new character solely to get those achievements that are impossible to repeat such as that. I'm really hoping that the history system, while a completely different system as stated, will still be referenced. :)

Well, let's hope that's the only category that doesn't carry over (as it's the only one mentioned as an exception in the news post).

I doubt that will work. You prolly have to trade the Runstone to the NPC to get that achievement.

There are some achievements that would have to be carried over to make sense like gaining 50 in classes, main scenario, and perhaps defeating enemies, too.

Those achievements are already in the history section. The crown for defeating 100,000 enemies is an asinine task to be given if started anew at this next patch. You should go on FFXIVPro and look up on your server who has that achievement. Not many people even have that yet. You'll actually find most who do are RMT characters. So, unless this crown has like godly stats applied to it I really am terrified of this task. lol Cause it's a really big one.

I wouldnt mind just "having" it, since i do for the most pieces. But it looks to easy for me tho and since english LS says "obtain" and german LS says "Erhalte", which also means "obtaining", i would guess you have to get it from the NPC, otherwise it would/should say "Have it equipped", no? We will know for sure in like a week.

But beside that i really hope some Categories will be carried over as a whole. I.E. Enemies killed, Character, Dungeons, Missions. Of course SE could add on top of the existing ones another Step.. lets say 200.000 Enemies killed, or 5000 local leves done etc. Some of those are really Timeconsuming like a guy above said allready. Im close to get 100.000 killed Mobs and i have all Battle-Classes at 50 since a while and burning Stronghold here and there, which scares me if i have to redo that one and if it would take another Year.

On a Sitenote..

We will get with 1.20 a lot more Gear and also have collect even more for Achievements. SE is going to lower the Inventory back to 100 in v2.0, so we have an obvious Problem with Inventoryspace. If you get all Primal Weapons + Achievement-Tools/Gear + Regular Gear + AF-Gear ( which also is coming soon ) you wont have much Room left. So someone should make a Thread about either Mannequins for Housings and/or Storage NPC's which will store Sets of Gear.

True but all it says is Obtain. It doesn't say Obtain from _____. One way someone can obtain that armor is buying it off the wards. It's vague wording though, so it's hard to tell if there is a hidden qualifier in there.

Does mass production recipes work? Makes 12 = 12 items?

Woot! Comeback of titles! How I missed them from FFXI, it was always fun and interesting checking someones title. If I liked it I searched the web how to get it, like from a quest or a kill. I remember myself changing my title every couple days for the fun of it :D

My favs ;): Fake-Moustached Investigator, Goblin in Disguise, Fugitive Minister Bounty Hunter, Hyper Ultra Sonic Adventurer, Looks Sublime in a Subligar, Tarutaru Murder Suspect, Vampire Hunter D-Minus

and of course! S.O.B. Super Hero! \(^-^)/

Anything dealing with those little S.O.B. was just pure gold. And I did enjoy the Vampire Hunter D-Minus title.

Glad I decided to concentrate on Crafting for now. Can probably make most of this stuff at a fraction of the cost.

I did, there were no titles during that time. Also, it still doesn't explain the "back" things since this is obviously Final Fantasy XIV, not XI.

When did you play XI? O_o

Pretty sure when I was playing XI from 04'-10' certain NMs or quests that I completed gave me titles..... Also a majority of the XIV community I'm sure have also played XI so I feel it was ok to just say "back".

There weren't titles in the very early stages -- 2001 beta - early - midish 2002 (official launch) but titles always existed, and getting them "back" I guess some really won't understand because FFXI seems to be pretty taboo to mention around these parts xD, cuz yeah, it was a fun little nod to show you completed quests/killed certain nms/bosses etc and down the line they added effects to certain titles, e.g If you did one of the WoTG quest lines the Lycopodiums would cast Regen on you.

Nice, I am pretty excited to start crossing achievements off my list. Also, getting actual rewards is neat too. Hopefully the rewards are useful. Titles are cool as well.

My question is, with achievements based upon reaching every aetherial gate and aetheryte camp, will they finally remove the level ~90 mobs (the aggressive ones) that now one-shot everybody and never had any reason to exist in a game where we can only reach level 50?

The Levelcap will raise soon enough. SE never said we would stay at 50, they said they will raise the cap every 1-2 Years.
