Can I pay 20 bucks to get rid of Viera threads instead?

No, I would not.
However what I would pay $25 for is additional character options for existing races and a fantasia to allow me to take advantage of that. However, since I already purchased the digital Stormblood Collectors edition, I feel that I have already paid my $25, and so expect that character creation nwill be enhanced and a fantasia will me made available when that happens.
I understand you're trying to gauge whether players will pay for the race to get an idea of how much they really want it. But to be honest I think you'll find more player who'd pay the fee if their Miqo'te could have their curves back than you will those who want Viera.
If Viera females were short and cute, sure. I don't want another tall giraffe neck race plz.
This is a no http://i.imgur.com/J7x7BW7.png
edit: $20 is nothing. As long as they don't sell endgame gear on the mog station I'm fine.
Be Hyur female, wear Bunny suit. Closest thing to a Viera you'd get in this game. Even if they did create a Viera race, it wouldn't be all that much different.
$20 is nothing but when more and more stuff gets added it soon adds up. Last few updates is a perfect example less and less glamour stuff is added to the game and other stuff straight to Mogstation. So yes in all seriousness if races, classes, jobs or anything like that gets added then I would be p****d. Not against the mogstation as I do make purchases now and again but I will draw the line there.
If it's free, I would look into it and possibly try it out. But locked behind a paywall (other than the expansion cost), GTFO of here! I will NOT pay $20 in the Mog Station for a race and if they added it there I would quite frankly unsub as others have listed as I would then expect jobs, endgame gear, etc, to go into the Mog Station, while still maintaining the subscription fee.
You know you could of just put this question in one of the other Viera threads you didn't have to make a brand new thread about it.
I would love to be a Viera and if the only way to get one was to pay $20 then I have no problem paying $20. I have a job with low expenses in my life so money isn't a issue. I do hope Viera eventually comes out though. Gimme it!
I would pay $20 if SE would strike down the stupid bunnies forever.
Vierra spam? check
OP from Balmung? check
People annoyed at this spam? check
People freaking out at the "mog station slippery slope"? check
Damnit, all i needed was for someone to beg for long hair to be added to the game and i could have scored BINGO on the Balmung Stupidity Bingo Card!
It continues to confuse me as to why people want taller, browner Miqo'te with rabbit ears, bigger tits, and REALLY ugly feet.
I would rather spend $20 on giving a homeless person a hot meal and some clothing than spend it on a virtual piece of gratuitous and overly hyped eye candy. Hell, I'd rather spend $20 on adopting a puppy or kitten.
There you go, helped point it out for you.
Joking aside, some people prefer different looks and all. Having tried making a female Miqo'te once I was unhappy with any and every face that came with markings. Only Sunseeker females had a -single- face without markings on it, and it was rather rounder than I cared for. While I generally like male Miqo'te, their wide leg stance makes robes/coats look terrible on them, and their hands are perpetually curled like they're trying to show they have claws rather than hands or something.
Either way, the reason people want Viera will vary from person to person. Some are just fans of their games, fans of the racial lore from past games, fans of the look, or hopeful for a new selection of physical attributes and sliders that would allow them to make their ideal character, rather than settling for what limited options we have now.
SWTOR did this when they added some new races to the game, added them as micro-transactions though I don't remember the cost off the top of my head and don't feel like looking it up. If I remember right though, it was between $10-$20 USD in the cash shop currency. I wouldn't be surprised if SE added this, I mean it's a square enix product, people will buy it in droves.
Thing is you wouldn't, stop lying to yourself.
As for everyone, i am amazed at the result. A lot of angry sheep that hate for simple ideas, while some other people wouldn't mind it.
Just baffle really haha, a couple viera topic there and there and people go batsheep crazy. No one forces you click on the topic, read and reply to it. Have a nice day :3.
No, but if they ever did do that, I'd be willing to spend $30 on an item that would restore someone else's Viera character's previous look (or set it to one of my saved character creation figures if they were created as a dumbunny) so I could force someone to spend that money again to return to being a Viera.
I would never pay any real money on a new race especially when I pay for a sub.
Where exactly dud the yearn for Viera race come from. I just kind of started seeing it suddenly.
First it was diadem. Then mentor threads now Viera. Is it the flavour of the month?
People started crying out for it ever since SE showed an April's Fools of concept art crossing Vieras and Bangaas, joking that it was the new race to be added. This sparked an outcry for Viera to actually be included as a race. I'd rather we don't get any more races myself.
Keeper forever.
I wouldn't wear butt floss like Fran does if they payed me.
I'd consider $20 for a half-elezen (like Hilda) race and the means to switch to it. Not $25 for a fantasia bundle.
And I don't think I'm alone on that. Not sure why the Viera fans aren't willing to do the same. I mean they did have a few other threads?
Actually people do need to read and reply to topics like this. Otherwise where does it end start paying for new area maps, quests, race, pvp battlefields. SE keep saying things like not enough manpower etc. But some of you guys would rather they stop working on current updates or remove something from an update, due to players saying they are willing to pay extra for it.Quote:

Not against the Mogstation but stop requesting for everything to be on it.

Its proof of conviction and purpose to 'put one's money where their mouth is.'
If no one is willing to pay for it, and well at least I'm willing to pay for a half-elezen race (within a reasonable price). Which one will look more enticing to develop? To put it shortly.. just how badly do you all want it? Or is the whole viera fad just a joke?
This reminds me of the Froglok race in EQ. SOE actually let players vote on the next race. The choices were Orcs, Frogloks, Gnolls, and something else. Instead of voting for a race that might actually get played. Everyone voted for Frogs, without any intention on playing them. Some did.. they did kind of change the look of them to be good.
I'm starting to think people are doing the same thing with bunny girls here. Put a price on it, and you actually see what people really want.
People are already putting their money on it: their sub. At least, that's what one side of the fence sees it. The other side is just desperate enough to put an extra price tag on it.
On another note, requesting something via payment is not the end all to be all incentive for devs. They have to consider projected expenses for creating something like vieras vs projected income from people who are going spend money ( remember also that ultimately, the pricing will be in their hands) on it. If their risk assessment estimates that its not going profit, then it's not going to happen.
I'd sit in town and see how many players actually bought the Vieras. Happy with my original choice and sticking with it!
Whales are amazing in F2P games, but in a sub game or paid game its an awful thing because it enables publishers to take advantage. This isn't even a FF issue, but this image should explain why being a whale in a P2P game is a detriment for everyone.

XIV is alright at the moment, but as soon as you start suggesting making things like races paid, then you start removing core aspects of the game. I get your reasons for asking, but it is a dangerous line of thinking.
Hmmm. Don't most items on the Mogstation (excluding the event items) disregard the lore of FFXIV in some way? I feel making Viera a Mogstation race would make it impossible for them to have any kind of lore in FFXIV's world (heck, I can already imagine the description for them making reference to FFXII or Tactics Advance: "Play as the mysterious Viera race from FFXII/FFTA"). While I'm still against the addition of Viera overall, it's better to make them a part of the games world and potentially available as an expansion bonus rather than plop them into the world with no lore or anything to make them interesting/appealing outside of 'appeared in this other game.'
