The game's minimum specs are still well below PS4, never mind PS5. We're on potato PC limitations.

But Mollusk... we have... 4K textures!

Ok but no seriously, it's true that the graphical fidelity still leaves much to be desired, but I'm sure that any and all excuses spent to dismiss this topic run dry with the current specs.
Even if we're running on popoto PCs, unless they're absolute toasters and\or made by ACER, they won't have that much of an impact.
It's just a couple more polygons. If they changed it for grapes, they can change it for players.
I'm certainly up for better graphics. I just get tired of the "PS4 is holding the game back" shtick when it's demonstrably not true.
Yoshi-P seems to have mentioned discussing the idea of adding more variations and customization internally around the time of last live letter? So... fingers crossed...
Funnily enough other mmorpgs can do so much more. One thing they share in common, no peasantstation 4 support. Minimum support does not mean much if vast majority of the hardware is way above it.

Only fraction of these are weaker than PS4. Obviously not everyone use Steam, but we can assure the trend is similar in other services. Vs the amount of PS4s on the market.
Just because minimum settings are lower than PS4 hardware doesn't mean it's the main cause of game being so outdated
It's either they have too many potato PCs (which public data doesn't support) or still so many haven't moved to PS5 yet (which data supports)
The main cause of it becoming outdated is that SE won't sink in the time or money required to actually thoroughly update or remake the game when it's still profitable enough as is. And while we could argue back and forth for days on whether continuing console support is a good idea or not, from a business perspective, they're not gonna just drop so many paying customers just to make the game a little prettier.
Considering how many of us haven't been able to actually get a PS5 yet......
Still hoping they add better customization like this one day, but not too hopeful =/. I don't know how the devs can talk about improving the graphics on one side, and having such ancient spaghetti code that they cant expand the character customization. Are adding different combinations to the character creation really that much more intensive on the ancient PS3 then overhauling all the graphics?
