Favorite FF14 fight?

Turn 12. I just love that fight.

Last phase of Turn 13, though, the way the music syncs up with the Akh Morn...


And yeah, seeing Nidhogg use Akh Morn the first time, I just stopped playing and laughed maniacally at the party as he blasted them (I did progression as WAR for FCoB, clearing right at the beginning of 2.5...was so satisfying to see the party get smashed by it :D )

TITAN EX, SEPH EX, NID EX, and of course ZURVAN EX. Love the mechanics and music of each of those fights! :D

Ah yes, the Grand Melee -

especially the second part as you mentioned against the Mad Bull of Ala Mhigo himself. :D (And as my character is a GLA/PLD, when Emmanellain exclaimed that "It's just the two of them in there!", I actually shouted back to the screen "Don't worry! He and I are gladiators! This is just like old times on the Bloodsands!" :D And fight we did.

Still, it didn't stop me from kicking his butt (although as Pipin was quick to point out afterwards, Raubahn was fighting one handed and was at a disadvantage (to say nothing fighting of the Warrior of Light and all ;)).

Back in i190/210 it was amazing and i miss this kind of fight !

I'll list my favourites for each. :D

Raid: Brute Justice (I grew up on Power Rangers and my inner child was screaming the moment I saw that transformation)
Trial: Thordon EX
Dungeon: The Vault
Story Solo: Grand Company Melee
24-man: Forgall
Music: The Goddess (It's extremely close between this, A Hero Never Dies and The Edge is Coming Tonight)

T13 is the best.Especially when I saw Akh morn for the first time.

Even now, the Thordan fight is still awesome despite it's very low difficulty. Mostly because of the spectacle and all the different unique attacks and mechanics going out at once, I still prefer it to the Ex version, not because of the low difficulty but because the normal mode music is much more epic in my opinion, I've listened to the Ex version of Thordan's music and it's just pretty blah.

I just love how he makes you dance all the time with his AoEs

Thordan Extreme (back when it was first released). I love how complex and intense it felt back then; difficult but not unfair. Excellently designed fight and I loved the music and atmosphere.

Though after posting about the proto-ultima thread I was reminded of something. When I first reached 50 and went in to the castrum to finally face Gaius. Then you engage with Ultima and can barely damage him, then the light shines and Maker's Ruin starts playing and then I pulled aggro and tanked the boss myself, it was one of the most epic moments from early on when I started the game and it's stuck with me ever since. Even now whenever I hear maker's ruin I always get a rush of adrenaline from when that moment happened.

Shiva, Thordan and Titan (Ex Version) still my favourites

Can't believe no one mentioned Ultima's Bane. Possibly the best music in the game, and the different Primal phases meant there were all kinds of mechanics to deal with. Definitely my favorite fight - at least, as it was back when the content was still relevant.

I would agree. Shiva is a complete package. I think Ravana falls right behind that, I like the "dance" of the mechanics and the music gives it life.

Honorable let mention to Alexander Prime because everything about thay fight is just great.

Ultimate was interesting, but I was really never fond of his music. Music is subjective though. I loved the idea of him.

I love Ramuh for music and environment they gave for the fight. Even though his fight wasn't as engaging as many of the other primal fights, he still is my favorite for it.

My favorite fight challenge balanced with enjoyment would have to be Xytheol or however you spell it, its a fun dungeon in my opinion. Its a fun mix of small n large pulls with just enough boss mechanics to keep ya on your toes, but not be stressed out.

I still quite enjoy A8 when it comes up on books.

Not the savage version though... that quarter-of-an-hour memory test can go die in a fire.

Sephirot! I love the Ex version to bits!

I loved the final Gilgamesh fight. Still hoping for an extreme version someday that drops Genji glamour gear.

BUT I did a boss Fate called Special Tarasque Force last week, and that is probably the most fun I've had in a fight in a long time. No one likes it since it's on par with that big crab boss in Costa del Sol), but one day I found some peeps just sitting around waiting for it to spawn (they wanted the triple triad card drop lol). We're farting around, dancing in the crater, farming some wyvern wings, suddenly the whole damn world explodes as this guy comes plummeting from the sky. It scared the shite out of us. Probably one of the coolest fate boss entrances I've seen. We then proceeded to happily get maimed by endless adds and that damn dragon stomp. XD

Thordan, the most over the top fight, so many thee and thous that it felt like a fight between goods to me, O and Sephirot, all the rock music and a giant towering over you leaves a impression lol

Odin trial & A8 for music (Open-world Odin I just love watching cause of all the death)... might have liked Thoradin if I fought it more than once (or gave a crap to fight the EX version) as its FF14's version of having "Kights of the Round" cast on you

Bismarck OFC, most epic fight evahhh :P

Joking aside, good old Titan and Sephi still get me pumped :)

My favorit fight doesn't exist yet. It's when the dragoon isn't tanking the ground.

Sophia 5ever. Watching people just run off the edge when trying to avoid a tilt is priceless. Also excellent aesthetic and BGM.

Shiva will always have a special place in my heart but my favorite fight is Pheonix from T12.

nael van darnus by far best fight, not to be confused with turn 9 with similar name.

King Thordan's A Space Odessy. Just can't get over how extra all the knights are and the amazing space trip.
