How many retainers you pay for?

Four extra.

I like having open bag slots and having retainers collect junk for me. I'm leveling all of my crafts too so it helps to have storage for the grind.

That said, it sucks having to pay extra for something I shouldn't have to pay for. Servers can't be that restricted if we have a million players on Balmung and Gilgamesh.

None. The inventory limitations are frustrating, but I refuse to pay for retainers when SE deliberately floods our regular inventories with Quest Items (books, alexander parts, pennies, gobtwine, unidentified tomestones, the list goes on and on)

I have also not bought a single thing off of the mog station.

Only pay for 2 but I am also stretching myself at the time with that. Originally was heavy into crafting but I just cant keep up and find it kinda boring now. Had it arranged for 1 with materia and glamours, 1 for wood/metals/ore, 1 for cloth, leather and alch, and 1 for misc like tokens, beast tribe stuff and more glamour. Need more space but refusing to pay for more.

One of the interesting things I have seen a few people say is FC sharing. Would be nice if accounts had a shared chest and could just use extra space on alts. I wonder how hard it would be to have that storage option. I understand we are getting more space but not at launch. So it could easily be 4.1 or later if they don't announce a specific date at fan fest.

I pay for all six extra.

3 combat, 2 miner, 2 botany, 1 fisher. The primary reason is for materials acquisition. I prefer to have some materials on hand and then send the retainers our to restock while I"m doing other stuff.

2 extra. I pay every 6 months. Like many others I use them mainly for storage

For those putting furniture on a retainer - specifically indoor furniture. Stop it, stop it now!!! ;)

Seriously, purchase an apartment and use it like a storage locker for furniture. No monthly fee...

The FC chamber works the same way.

So, if you already own an actual house, you can store unused indoor furniture without using your inventory or retainer inventory, and without a monthly fee.

Though I use 3 paid retainers as well, I keep a lot of stuff...

I'm already using an apartment as a storehouse... More and more seasonal items keep on coming. :(

I only pay for one extra because I left my solo free company to play with friends.

Breakdown works like this:

• (2) retainers for BTN/FSH materials + Leather,cloth,regeants etc 1 is ARR materials, other is Heavensward materials
• (2) retainers for MNR/Bone materials + gemstones, ingots, ash etc 1 is ARR mats, other is Heavensward mats.
• (2) retainers for glamour
• (2) retainers for future desynth items, GC turn ins, weekly clear items, 1.0 "Dated items" presents, fireworks, misc items for quests, potions, food.
  

**My "Alt" character (60) on main account
Full 8 retainers
Storage works in a simliar matter to above, although 2 of them are used stricktly for housing items


On Main service account total 16 retainers actively being used for storage


My -second- service account
Normal Subscription -

4 retainers total (paying additional for 2)

Across all my service accounts I personally own two FCs, a medium and a large (both FC chest storage being utilized) 5 private rooms in said FCs, 2 apartments, one small private house and 3 'additional' characters with default character inventory being used as storage for excess furniture. For some it still just -isn't- enough.

Mind you, I realize this is a bit extreme and I would consider myself an outlier in the model. I averagely buy 10-20 (sometimes more) of each event item regularly so I have the freedom to fill a room with piassas if I so desire.

To each their own play how you want to, please bring us more inventory / housing space in 4.0! I kindly look forward to it!

I'm amazed people consider alts retainer replacements.
I'd never be able to bear the crazy annoyance of constantly relogging just to move a single item around..

As for myself, I have a total of 5 retainers right now, so I'm paying for 3 extra. I also have a solo FC so I have the FC storage chest as well, and yet I'm more than at the limit at this point and really feel like I need a 6 retainer; I just really can't justify that to myself anymore.

Fix this horrible mess already, SE.
I know you feel like you have no incentive to fix it because we all throw so much money at you, but this is ridiculous and ruins enjoyment of the game and someone who is unhappy will end up not paying ANYTHING anymore because they QUIT. Give us a glamour book already, and I'll be able to do with a single retainer >.>

How is my house/apartment supposed to be a storage space when it's at max capacity with the furniture that is actually supposed to be in there? xD
On that matter...higher furniture limit in housing too, please..and I won't have to store so much furniture anymore because I can actually put it up :rolleyes:

Yeah, I know that. But if you have an FC home or private home, and an FC chamber, and an apartment, I don't know how many people will take the time to specifically furnish and decorate all three of those spaces. But the other spaces don't have to just be dormant space, each will hold 50 indoor furniture items. So, if you're not actively using/inhabiting those additional locations, they can be used for storage. I can't remember the restrictions on the apartment system, can you own an apartment in each of the 3 housing zones?

Regarding the housing item limit, I was under the impression that Yoshi, or a community manager had indicated that the limit on indoor furnishings would be raised (may have implied all furniture including outdoor stuff too, I cannot remember exactly.
