Whining because RDM is too OP at PvE/PvP, whining for another class to get buff/nerf.
I secretly support it.

I predict that we will see Sin from ff10 as an 8-man or 24-man raid with it's own storyline, which would work since ff10 always emphasized how colossal sin is.
And we'll also have Seymour Guado as a trial
I think this will happen because the fanfests have given out ff10 glamours and pets, as well as the implementation of swimming, something only seen in ff10. (Although I haven't played 11, so I wouldn't know if that has swimming or not)
thread whining about jump potions-
wait, theyre already here
We have no specifics regarding what SE means by 'role-based skills'. What we DO know is that they're looking to ease the strain brought on by the number of abilities available. That's about it. They could easily do that while still maintaining the 'you need to level PLD to get access to Provoke' dynamic. Speaking personally, I'd also be stunned if they moved to eliminate the requirement for leveling multiple jobs. Much of FFXIV is built upon the idea of people leveling multiple classes; the economy is tied into it, the duty finder is tied into it, etc. The need to obtain cross-class skills is one of the key mechanisms SE employs to ensure people do, indeed, try out a variety of jobs.
Also, your comment still does nothing to refute my point. Role-based skills will almost certainly increase homogenization, unless 'role-based' is a huge misnomer. And the more homogenized the classes, the more performance gains are found at the edges, by leveraging more exotic skills that are currently ignored. To co-opt your example of all tanks having access to Provoke, a Warrior who previously spent a cross-class skill space on Provoke (a 22 GLA skill) might instead be pushed to take Mantra (PGL 42).

Everything currently said about the battle system changes is there, including the part about tanks sharing tank skill, dps sharing dps skills, etc.
A thread stating "This is ARR and HW all over again."
Just thought of a fun one. At some point during the dancer quest line, if we get it. A new character will show up crying because his friends made fun of him for wanting to dance. And the instructor will respond, "You can dance if you want to. You can leave your friends behind. Because they don't dance and if they don't dance they're no friends of mine." And one skills we learn will be Safety Dance.
