I don't think any form of musical composition classes can help you either.

Soundtracks are amazing '-'
Now FFXV town soundtracks, THAT, that is trash.
NIGHT IN THE BRUME. NIGHT IN THE BRUME. NIGHT IN THE BRUME. NIGHT IN THE BRUME. NIGHT IN THE BRUME. NIGHT IN THE BRUME. NIGHT IN THE BRUME. NIGHT IN THE BRUME. NIGHT IN THE BRUME. NIGHT IN THE BRUME. Did I mention Night in the Brume? God that's such an amazing piece.
I strongly disagree with the idea that the music in this game is awful. It's incredible - and the music is one of the strongest aspects of every patch. Outside of a couple of tracks I enjoy pretty much every piece of music in FFXIV.
You are talking to a a literal punkin head, let that sink in for a minute.
Also here is something that might be more his style?
https://youtu.be/5Ssnaiquvns
quite fitting since apparently that is the place to gauge the skill level of people
Eh, I disagree in the strongest terms... FFXIV always has good musical scores. There's some I like less than others, but none that I'd call awful.
In 3.x as in the whole of HW?
Well a few tracks are really "samey" I guess...but some were amazing.
I love Painted Foothills, I actually personally have that as Ysayle's theme. I love Sophia's theme, Bismarck reminds me so much of FF13 composer, that I love it too...really music taste is subjective.
I respectfully disagree. If anything, this expansion brought us lots of non-generic musical compositions. Not just the generic orchestral music with a random chorus on the background that you might see in movie trailers but actual tracks with, sometimes, lyrics in them. I personally think Soken nailed it. Every song and theme has its own identity and that's something that I can hardly say in other games.
I'll say again what I said in another topic of yours, all you seem to do is make complains, maybe you should try a different game.
Sorry not sorry for the lack of hip hop and rap, I quite enjoy the tasteful selection of themes that cover a very wide variety of musical styles and genres.
I don't believe one word from a Lalafell such as you. You may not like the taste of the music, but you make up than less than 1% of the users on this game. I own over 22,400 on my iPhone 7 Plus 256GB. I have a ton of different genres from world, classical, pop, rock, etc. My Christmas music even has its own genres. I kid you not. OP has been playing the wrong game if he thinks has bad music. But I know that he is just trolling.
Get a new pair of ears, and taste. Because your current ones are broken.
3.0 tracks are great, and fit the content very well. Uematsu's tracks from 1.0 are the ones not fitting the content, Sohm Al HM is a good example.
I'm starting to wonder if Xyno is trolling us with his posts.
First time I heard Ravana's theme (listened on youtube), I immediately grabbed my mum and started waltzing with her. Have no idea what you're talking about OP. I've heard other pieces as well. The music is amazing!
3.x music is good

You can never take Twilight Over Thanalan away from me~!!! :3 Or FFXI in me screams.
Well OP, you're definitely entitled to your opinion but, like others, I'll also have to respectfully disagree; especially about Ravana's and Alex's themes (seriously my brother, how can you even dislike songs like The Hand That Gives the Rose or Metal (Brute Justice)? Your tastes in music must be quite um---specific? )
I agree the 2.x music was great but 3.x has amazing music also (aside from the ones I mentioned) : Equilibrium, Fiend, Painted Foothills, Lost in the Clouds, Down the Up Staircase, Poison Ivy, Rise (??), Exponential Entropy(???), Night in the Brume(????), Heroes Never Die(??????) ---- I could keep going.
How can any of these songs be disliked to the point of being called 'awful' (with bonus points for caps lock!) is beyond me. Good luck finding better music, I guess? o-0
Edit: This has to be another one of those rare moments where I see most of the people in the forums agree with something; goes to show how 'awful' (/sarcasm) the 3.x music is~
Nah, can't agree. They were 2.x and 3.x were equally good.
Ravana theme? Awful? o.O loved the first phase music!
This thread I now declare a thread of lyrics!
"High on high I stand!" xD
Dear SE,
Please don't listen to the OP. Thanks.
Sincerely,
The FFXIV Community
I love the music, oh and this person's version of answers :)

Of course the music in 3.X isn't awful (not everywhere at least), but it is not nearly as good as it was in 2.X- that what I wanted to say.
Well it is hard to keep up with WPHM - that is the soundtrack to my dreams - but the duel music (also used in POTD) is another favorite.
Um... Ravanas theme is amazing. So happy we're getting this on our orchestrions finally.
I actually enjoy the songs in gobbyspeak as well as silly skill names like bangyzoom! It is one of the entertaining things I enjoy about Alex.
And I never tire of torturing my FC with pa-paya. Now if I can just get the moggle mog music....
Man, i feel bad for OP getting torn apart like this.
3.0's music has been spot on i reckon, with the exception of that "forward and back" song in A11, for some reason that one just annoys the hell out of me. Might be the insane amount of repetition in it compared to all others in the game.
Solid, Dragonsong, Defenders of the Realm, and the one song that has FINALLY been able to top the overwhelmingly epic melancholiness of Corel Desert Prison from FF7, Nobility Sleeps. I believe good rpgs are defined by both their storyline and music (Zeal Kingdom/chrono trigger anyone?) and Heavensward's composers have absolutely succeeded in accomplishing all they set out to do. Humble thanks.
Because the existence of the really bad compositions (blood from my ears) and the absence of the really beautiful and remarkable compositions (like in 2.X) make me think, that all the music in 3.X is noooooooot good
Aslo, as I sad, music in 3.X (in different types of content) doesn't express the content where it sounds. CAnt the music be like silly dancing composition or like a song of a holyday party in a hardcore content, no, CANT BE! It is stupid. It cant be slow and boring in a dynamic fight and so on
Music is quite possibly the most subjective form of media available. Claiming the music is flatout bad perhaps isn't quite the way to go.
For example, I am quite fond of Ravana's music myself but agree with you on A8.. it's just kinda silly but that's the way things go.
