Last year the forum exploded with complaints that we got 1. no body gear, just hooves and a beard and the like and 2. "OMFG SE WHY NOT THE EVENT PICTURE GEAR"
Seems they remembered that and are actually giving it to us now..^^
Tbh, I really love the event picture this year :o
Last year's was very elegant and all, but this year is just so..warm? <3
It's like a Christmas card and everyone looks so adorable!
As for the actual rewards:
Body - it looks cute and warm, I like it^^
Song - YES :o
Pillar - ...meh? I can't imagine it fitting in anywhere really well. Why is the dev team so obsessed with pillars anyway..xD
Poster - yaay, I always asked for that in the furniture suggestion thread ^-^
Snowpiles - YES YES YEEEES :D
This screenshot was in album which was linked earlier.
No, it's people who are using illegal means to extract data from the game / manipulate the game to display what they want.
Notice how she also has naked feet? While we are forced to wear sandals forever and ever ;)
It's against the ToS, so ofc they will get banned if caught.
I really like how it looks on femtars. Also like that if I fantasia later, no need for exchange :).
Anyone have a wayward album of how it looks on male characters in comparison (showing back as well).
I wonder if the Snowdrift can be used to make snowball battle like in Coerthas :D
There is this picture at the bottom of the event annoucement which shows an male wearing it (unless I misunderstood what you asked):

The female miqote on the starlight picture has the same hairstyle as Khloe, maybe its me but they look very similiar.
How is this miqo'te in the picture 100% barefoot? I want that more then the body piece.

-If I wasn't already maxed on item limit for years, the pillar, wall hanging, and snow piles might have been cool :)
-The outfit is far too similar to the original outfit. Being able to dye it is good. They are running out of ideas maybe.
-the music is ok :)
There's so little rewards here but at least the robe looks cute.
It's a shame that it isn't a thing in-game; it's been requested enough, too. They even gave Minfilia, Y'shtola and Nanamo the option.
The fact mods can allow it with zero problems made by some random individual('s), and that there's been plenty of retorts/solutions to the excuse they gave for the one time they spoke about it makes it an even greater shame it isn't in-game officially.
Remember when events gave more than one chest?
Most likely no, since it would be difficult to tell a visual mod from a mod showing you where rare hunts or the forsaken hoard are located. Most automated systems would just see something running that is in someway impacting the game and your banned. Mods would be nice, but it would be hugely unfair to our fellow Eorzians who choose to play on consul.
I never understood this mentality. When you choose a system, you automatically choose it's advantages and disadvantages. I don't understand why PC players should not have mods just because console players can't have them.
PS players have PSN Chat that PC people don't have access too while console players have access to most chat systems through a phone or so. I don't see any PC player complaining about that. People should be able to use their system's advantages without having to worry that it is unfair to others.
If they release the new App they mentioned with new functions, chances are that older phone won't be able to utilize it. Will they hold back the app because not everyone can get a new phone? I highly doubt it.
The situation here now is that mods can be highly abused and even harmless mods get you banned because SE is not able to distinguish what mod is running. I don't agree with cheating mods but some visual ones would be awesome. If any console player would be sad about that, they can always move to PC or SE does like other companies did and make those add ons available for console.
Really only because we're all playing the same game - in case you haven't noticed, people aren't commonly complaining about skyrim PC players having access to SKSE and a myriad of mods while players of consoles are far more limited.
That's why you can't allow people too many gameplay advantages caused by their system. And since SE can't tell which mod does what...they have their "don't show, don't tell" policy - on parsers as well as visual mods.
I remember dat swapping back in FFXI. ah those were the days.
I did not expect the Starlight Snowdrift (Outdoor Furnishing) to be that large. Nevertheless I've installed it on the garden, and it allows to throw snowballs like in Coerthas :D
I love the size, I hate that they clip with each other >.<
Trying to create a completely snow-covered garden proved to be impossible without very obvious ugly clipping (that I'm totally not used to, because in general, furniture in FFXIV can be combined seamlessly :(
Hummm, the development team could have done a better job with those Snow Drifts, I'm used to the low graphical quality in this game but these things are just cheap, they look pretty ugly individually and to place many of them to cover the entire yard would mean to remove most outdoor furnishings, they could make something like a carpet that would cover the whole area with a snow themed floor with quality and dedication invested!...
I hope Stormblood's huge budget can improve on every yearly event and the rewards obtained!...
That's my issue. You need so many snow drifts, the yard ends up mostly barren. :(
I find the clipping very obvious. In the screenshot Anzaman posted, the grey line in the front isn't the problem,
but if you look around the fireplace, you have all those very obvious parts clipping in and out of each other.
I tried that, but it's unbearable for me :x
I opted for a half-covered yard in the end, which isn't too bad either, works fairly well on a small house.
SE could give us yard skins like this:

Why don't we have Christmas decorations like that!?... :(
