Want to see cross server party finder in 3.5.
I agree, they should focus their attention on actually making 2 of the 3 summons useful, and providing more useful pet classes. My static's warrior / raid leader said yesterday, "Yeah, I thought the idea of playing a pet class was to, you know, use various pets."
With its current design, may as well just add Garuda's skills to the summoner and get rid of the pet all together.
Note: that conversation came above as we were discussing A12S where you have the group split in two. I volunteered to be one of the people who goes in to fight the add 1v1. I said, "hey, I can go in and use titan". They then corrected me that the add just sends out an aoe attack, so titan would not be helpful. Silly me for thinking the devs might add content which encourages the use of one of those other summons.
Egi Glamours are confirmed for 3.5 <3 Suck it haters.
But yeah, I want them to highlight Ifrit's strengths more and replace Contagion. The hell does Garuda even have that spell for? What is its relation to wind?
How the devil do you even pronounce "Zhloe"?
Did anyone else notice the teaser/sneak ?

Top right, who is that ?
The other three I can ID ....
They mentioned something about Windows 10. Anyone who understands Japanese catch what they said about it? Especially if it's something along the lines of Windows 10 being required in the future?
Turn 7; Melusine, so yes.

Thanks for clarifying, I knew somewhere my lack of doing coils was gonna kick me in the backside :(
Like Khloe only replace the first /k/ sound with the /ʒ/ from the end of beige. Its not a sound used at the beginning of English words but the sound does does exist in the language. Or you could go with the Chinese /j/ pronunciation for zh and end up with something that sounds like J-loey.
The quality of life stuff really stood out to me from this live letter.
1. Can queue for DF with your chocobo summoned! I've wanted this since 2.0 launched.
2. Novices can refuse invitations to the Novice Network instead of being dumped in. It's crazy to me that this wasn't in when the feature launched.
3. The start if the long awaited Egi glamours.
4. PVP fans getting the option to queue for any GC in Frontlines.
My only disappointment is there wasn't any mention of squadrons being updated. I was hoping they'd be more than a venture system before Stormblood.
I understand why they localised Shiro to Zhloe after turning Kuro into Khloe (Shiro and Kuro being cute cat names in Japanese, and Khloe being very similar in spelling to Kuro in Japanese). However, I really, really wish they hadn't. Localising character names is an extremely frustrating trend pretty much any time it's been done in the history of gaming, and in an worldwide MMO where you're regularly communicating with people using other language clients (which I do every time I play) it's a real pain in the neck to have proper nouns be completely different between versions. It gave me years upon years of irritation in FFXI when I was using a different client to the rest of my linkshell.
Right now I know that Shiro = Zhloe. In a year, I will have forgotten and be confused at PFs for 'Shiro's XYZ' instead of what it's actually called in my game. Please don't do this again. It's so hard to have conversations in game when everyone has to clarify what everything is all the time.
Why did they feel the need to change names? Those original names even make sense..I sometimes dont understand the localization team..I mean this is a fantasy game with NPCs that have lots of different and strange names..
Are the Miqo'te naming guidelines not a thing in the Japanese version?
Cross server PF is a wet dream i cant wait to finally farm primals without waiting hours to fill it up and repeat after 2-3 kills it's so...boring.
Also higher savage tier training groups might work good. Raidfinder is a charm already but sadly only for sophia and a9s+a10s, good farm with low to mid que times.
The Japanese names in this particular case can more or less fit the Keeper guidelines; Kuro is pronounced differently to Khloe but recognisable as more-or-less the same word (Kuro is クロ while Khloe would be クロエ). Perhaps it's a pet name or something. They could have written it any way they liked in roman letters to make it sound more Miqo'te-style rather than like a real name but that's the team's call.
Likewise, they could have written Shiro in a way that fit the guidelines in English easily enough - I'm sure Keeper names exist which are more-or-less close to Shiro phonetically - but they decided that making a cutesy pair of names was more important than consistency between languages. I wish the localisation team could occasionally remember that a lot of people play in mixed language groups :(
