should answer some questions. answered mine.
How is this an ISP issue? I have 6 character on Midgardsormr. I can log in on my 1st one but all the others get 90002 error and disconnect. And my woman is on game right now on another computer with no issues.
this is nuts its 12 hours later I still cant log on the NA center, while I can log into the other data centers, play other online games so I'm sure its not my isp
Been getting same error all day. Gilgamesh server.
so whats going on se? some kind of dev response would be appreciated.
All I can think of this is on SE end cuz if u can login to the lobby server but then get a 2002 going from the lobby to the data server, it has to be at that point between the lobby and the data center
More DNS DDoS I wonder?
Kinda getting sick of this BS perpetrated by script kiddies with access to large bot nets and/ or moronic nation 'actors' as the Intelligence community seems to like to call them. Where's Annonymous when you need them? Probably too busy with some self righteous DDoS attack to actually do something useful for the online community, like outing these annoyances...
Unfortunately, not quite. You login to the login server and then it refers you to the lobby server. the connection between your PC/PS4 s not rerouted through the login server to the lobby server, your client makes a 'direct' connection to the lobby server. So if the login server is hosted, say, in Japan, it's a completely different routing path for your client to login vs the lobby servers in Canada (aka NA Data Center). So you would be able to talk to the login server, but not necessarily the game servers.
Also, if this problem is not caused by someone using a DDoS attack, it could be a problem with the peering agreement(s) between the ISPs and Level 3 who are the ones that most NA ISPs connect to SE through.
If it's a lapsed peering agreement or a dispute between ISPs there is nothing SE can do about it, except find a way of routing around it, which may involve $$ and cause more lag on our connections - though how it coule be worse than what Level 3 already does is beyond me.
all i know is they better be compensating us for this or something. days not being able to play makes people not want to pay a sub anymore.
The only time SE gives free play time for interrupted service is when they make a mistake that results in several days of interrupted playtime for a large amount of the population of the game, such as during the 2.0 launch when the servers were very unstable for over a week. So don't hold your breath.
So, finally after mass attempts, finally got through to the character selection screen. Both last night and today when I've tried logging into my main, I've gotten the error codes of 2002, 10105, and 9002. I was reading a couple of posts and figured I'd try logging into an alt. Sure enough, I can log into a couple of my alts but not my main on Excalibur.
So I believe it's not exactly the ISP because if that were the case, I wouldn't have been able to get in the game at all. Please correct me if I'm wrong here.
Main Characters have a lot of server/client info to send/receive. Higher packet counts with Level 3 having large packet loss has a greater risk of desync and disconnection.
Also if you got through after mass attempts you possibly got through hardware from those attempts that are more stable.
Just 2 things to consider.
If you have access to a VPN, it might be worth trying that and seeing if it gets you through since a VPN will route you through different backbones.
Level3 was one of the ISPs getting DDoSed last week, and they're notorious for causing connection issues to the data centers in Montreal for anyone unfortunate enough to be routed through them.
It seems like it actually may be the ISP at fault. I have been encountering the 2002 error since last night, and just now decided to try and log on with VPN is use when i'm not at home. I was able to log on just fine with the VPN. But does anybody know what could have happened last night to make myself and others ISP just stop letting us access the server? I'm at a loss of what changed since then.
Well, I still can't get on, so I guess it's Gears of War for me today, Garuda EX will have to wait till level 3 gets replaced or fixed.
How would you use a VPN if you're on a PS4? Still can't log in. Thinking about suing error code 2002 for real -.-

Please play other games and come back when the internet allows you to :p
I guess it's time for me to boot up Disgaea 5 and toss Prinnies around, dood.
That or perhaps Resident Evil remake for Halloween soon. Might as well.
For those still unable to play, go setup a free trial with WTFast. You should be able to get in without any hiccups.
Haven't been able to get on since 5pm est ;; oh well
I share Jen's sentiments here. I already have enough problems trying to complete content with Crapcast as my service provider, and now SE gets some issues preventing me from playing at all aside from a few players who can make the most of their subs. Punches for days.

Also, apparently it was said that some fibers have been cut, I'm assuming they mean wires for servers. If I could find a link to the post I'll let you guys know.
Fiber lines, aka, the NA network backbone lines. The lines that connect ISP's to the internet. That's why the outage is so widespread.
It was fun, during 2.0-2.4 I had a wonderful time trying to play the game through Verizon. Would have really horrible lag-spikes and would disconnect fairly often. Made things really difficult - difficult enough that I did end up ponying up and buying a WTFast subscription. Eventually SE & Verizon decided to fix whatever the issue was and I didn't need WTFast anymore.
I recently switched to Comcast for various reasons and now there's this. Always a good time.
Been getting 10105 90002 and 2002 errors all day as well..
