You literally get them by playing the game now. Such as weekly from Weeping, or from clearing potd.

The space although many is still finite, 500k is not a lot of gil. They can't make it free otherwise we would have some taken by players that may not sign on another day.

Are apartments not the same size as FC rooms and you have a smaller furniture allowance?
Perhaps i heard wrong, but if it really is the case... well FC rooms are also cheaper. Though 500K is not all much at all.
Of course apartments can be moreso for players not in a FC and what not.

In that case i will just save up for if/when housing in Ishgard arrives, probably in 5.0, lol

Got one on Balmung guessing the GC restriction was the reason they are not sold out yet

Glad I got mine, that is one less thing to worry about.

Got mine in Uldah so now have a place to crash in all 3 GC areas :D The real question however....what to do when apartments/housing comes out for Ishgard.... Demolish apartment the day before said patch? Aaaah..the ratrace ever continues...

The apartments are basically a non-FC personal room that's more expensive. That's it. Nothing special in my opinion. I don't see an advantage of having one if you don't already have a FC room.

today, it is very very easy to make 500K. It really is. There are so many ways to make 500K that the ways are almost endless. Now, when the game FIRST came out yeah it was a little difficult to make that. But today, it's not that hard.

You can always be a gatherer. You can make that in one day....on a bad day

Haven't looked much into it. Is it 500 apartments per building per ward per city per server? If so, that is way more than the current playerbase, isn't it?

There are something around ~3k-4k people on my server. That's 500 x 12 x 3 = 18k apartments. Even at 90 per building, that is almost everyone.

Well, not infinitely. He said the real limit is at more than 500 (so presumably 512) per apartment building. But multiplied by the 72 apartment buildings now (plus likely more once Ishgard housing is added), it should be more than enough to last quite a while, even on high population servers.

He also brought up that having the initial limits lower (starting at 90, then opening more of them as needed) is just a way of getting players to spread out more evenly across the different wards, rather than a real limitation in the number of apartments available.

500k is affordable to say the least. This is much more casual friendly than houses ever will be.

It is only 90 per ward per city to start with. If more is needed they will add more in future patches upto 500 limit.

Not in future patches. This patch added the 500+ per building. They'd just need to unlock more of those existing apartments, which they can do at any time. (Some have suggested that unlocking more is automatic, but I haven't seen a good source for that detail, only that they can unlock more when they're needed.)

I'm more curious about whether it's even worth 500k rather than how that price excludes some people.

I don't know why it feels as the OP played pservers were you can get whatever you want anytime.

I'm on Diabolos and the apartments are NOWHERE near filled yet. My ward only has 10 apartments filled.

And I feel it's worth it. It's an FC room for people without FC housing, that is more secure since it's not at the mercy of your FC leader or subject to auto deletion.

What is the OP even complaining about? The Price? That they feel there aren't enough apartments? If each apartment can scale to 500 rooms, that's 18,000 apartments for the entire server. 500,000 gil is too much? Are you serious? 500,000 gil is incredibly easy to acquire. You sound ignorant and lazy.

I was smart so I logged out on Sunday right at the spot where the apartment building would spawn. i got in and got room number 2. Now I have a permanent living space right next to the sea. It's barely furnished and I used up so much of my gil that i couldn't even afford to teleport. But it was still worth it.
