Third Job Speculation and Theories

I'm thinking office supplies warehouse manager, or possibly emesis basin manufacturer. Not very glamorous perhaps but these are the men and women who make Eorzea tick.

I wouldn't say every SMN wanted Egi Glamours forever. Well the vocal minority maybe. Making Ifrit Egi look like Ifrit doesn't fix any of the real pet issues. The re-sizing or even the idea of using lesser summons in their place, just for show. Though it's a win, and gets people off their back so maybe they can focus on other things.

I would say BST, but they need to get SMN to feeling like a pet class otherwise you're going to have a guy with DD potential with a pet that looks cool but you have zero connection to and has no real uniqueness to it. Though, if BST follows the SMN route. The player-base will be children crying on the floor, screaming, swinging their feet to want it and in the end they'll get it to them with what they have. Just to have those big eyes look up at them and go "I dun like it...fix it, or I'm leaving!"

I think we will see a healer class and a DPS as the two, but not a 3rd. You can add a tank, but it won't fix the tank issue people keep talking about. Though I don't personally see it, at least not as a huge problem, if it does exist...I could guess why and a new class will not fix it. A healer though, there have been some terrific links out there, still none of them make the job feel unique to the point where I'd ditch WHM or AST. Since they're so restrictive with what we can do in this game, it's hard to expand. Besides basic heals, WHM has burst healing, SCH has fairy for off-heal and shields, and AST can compensate for whichever mixed with card boosts. That leaves maybe a healer that can cause some debuffing to a mob that enhances the party in some way, much like Dancer in XI. There seems to be a fear, or lack of wanting to, put in heavy or lengthy party enhancements or mob debuffs.

If its beastmater, the first pet they get needs to be a dodo wearing a paula dean wig.
