Free Company Tracker Page

I finally got my hands on adding JSON alternative to the pages (including new achievements' pages!). Just add "api/" before "fftracker" in the URI to get the same data you see on the page in JSON format. That is https://www.simbiat.dev/fftracker/character/6691027/ should be changed to https://www.simbiat.dev/fftracker/character/6691027/
If you are opening the page for the first time (that is not after getting to it from some other page on the website), this link will also be present in META tags as alternative link. I am looking into possibility to update it when navigating the site, too.
Either way, feel free to utilize this info on your websites, if you want to somehow spice it up ;)

While viion seems to have abandoned public version of lodestone-php, I rewrote it to utilize regex instead of Symphony. The library is downloadable here.

Design reminds me of early 2000 webdesign and frankly, closed the tab quickly.
Any plans to make it cleaner?

Yes. I am no designer myself, so I know I suck at it :D And earlier design, was, to be honest, even worse :D I am always open to suggestions, too

Added parsing of Frontline, Grand Company and Free Company rankings to the library https://github.com/Simbiat/lodestone-php

Tracker was updated. A lot of tracking information was reorganized on backend, PvP teams support was added, private profiles are now available (right now through me only, though).

Not like anyone cares, but tracker now supports new jobs. And the library supports new races as well.

As a fellow full-stack developer, Simbiat, if you are going to create APIs for others to use, you should follow the RESTful style. 1 of the style is you add a version to the URL so that if you do make a change, it does not break the old URL right away forcing others to have to react.

just add /api/v1/.... and you would be go. :)

So far there were no breaking changes AFAIK, so there was no reason for versioning. And, to be honest, I do not think, anyone is using this api either way

Some of you might have noticed some changes on tracker. I’ve only hid characters’ details, free company details are still available (if character was present in any groups before, this info will still be shown on character pages as suggested links). Mainly because of Lodestone changes, that force me to use way too many connections to it to get character data, which makes current approach extremely inefficient, because Lodestone temporarily blocks the queries from my side way more often this way, which results in huger backlog, which means even less frequently updated data. I am looking into ways to optimize the service one way or the other without removing functionality completely. I am also working on putting the code into a library and pushing it to GitHub in case someone else decides to do something similar.

The tracker is more dead than alive now, I know, because I am focused on some other things. But now there is a "community finder", which somewhat covers recruitment process, which I wanted to implement in the future. And since tracking of companies was meant mainly for suggestion of promotions, that turned out to be too niche at best, I have been thinking if the tracker is actually needed, at all. I am considering just putting it into a library for GitHub and then just leaving it as that, but perhaps someone can suggest something, that could make the tracker actually useful enough to actually keep it alive?

Don't think anyone cares that much, but some may have noticed, that site is under maintenance for quite sometime. This is because I am migrating the code for the tracker into a library (some code can already be viewed at https://github.com/Simbiat/FFTracker) and during some updates I accidently selected live database instead of my test one. I hope that everything will be restored to more or less working order by the end of next week.

I kept quite, but actually quite some time ago a certain page has appeared on my site - https://www.simbiat.dev/fftracker/statistics
This is different statistics based on information my tracker has grabbed from LodeStone. Obviously, it's a bit skewed, since it's not the actual LodeStone, but some of those graphs may be interesting if not useful.
The reason I kept silent about it till now is because I wanted to add more graphs and do some optimizations, both for statistics and the website itself.
Note, that at the moment statistics have a 1 week cache-life and if it expires some of the categories will take some time to load. I already have an idea on how to improve that, though.

Sorry for such a late reply: I was on break from the game since February and once Endwalker was out, it took me quite some time to log in and then be recognized as active forum member.
No, the site is not discontinued, in fact, I did roll out a huge update for it along with Endwalker. Had to temporarily hide statistics, but I am already working on restoring them, so that should be fine.
Why did you think it was discontinued?

I've been out for awhile playing some other games, so was not able to post here, but address to the tracker has changed to https://www.simbiat.dev/fftracker. The design has changed a lot, too. Statistics page has changed, and now there is a page, that shows raw character data, that you can use to build your own graphs https://www.simbiat.dev/fftracker/statistics/raw. There is now also a page to generate single-file crests https://www.simbiat.dev/fftracker/crests (pack of components can be found here https://github.com/Simbiat/FFXIV-Crests-Components)

If you're taking feedback, I would ask you to remove the excess adjectives when searching up characters "a haughty male Miqo'te of Seeker of the Sun clan", "horny female Au Ra of Xaela clan"; emphasis mine. Some are fine, but it doesn't seem necessary at all from a statistics/data perspective.

I am always open to feedback, and I agree, that they are out of place. I don't even remember why exactly I added them. Removed, but some cached pages may still show them for some time.

In some video, I believe, by Mr. Happy there was a mention of achievement leaderboard, and Yoshi-P was not sure about implementing it. Well... I did https://www.simbiat.dev/fftracker/points
Kind of based on what I already had, so far from perfect, but still good enough. And you can find you own profile on https://www.simbiat.dev/fftracker/search to see current points value (as known by the tracker). Data is based on public achievements only, obviously, and possibly not up-to-date for all characters (although I am getting an average of 80k characters updated daily, looking to increase the number). If your own data does not look fresh, just visiting your profile page should be enough to increase priority of the update.

There is search, though: https://www.simbiat.dev/fftracker/search
But your character is, indeed, not on the tracker. Can't check your ID while Lodestone is down, but you can register any entity for tracking on https://www.simbiat.dev/fftracker/track when it's back up again and you can find your character's ID.

Just FYI for people who come here: tracker now respects the private settings on Lodestone, so if it learns that you privated your profile - it will not show any data. Because of this, I am now considering to show all past names for non-privated characters once again. So if you have issues with that kind of tracking - mark your profile as private on Lodestone.
