Outsourcing, lack of direction, and lack of experience with this game genre were what happened. Development back then was focused almost entirely on graphics--which is a big selling point in the FF series--but hardly anything on actually making a playable game.

Some players stuck with it, but for most, it was a disaster. And that put SE in a really bad position.

Yoshida took over and saw what was available was mostly unsalvageable. So he had development working overtime to practically remake the game from the ground up, while also pushing for improvements to make 1.0 playable until 2.0 could be released. And so it's "A Realm Reborn".

It would be nice to give Miqo'te more tail options however they have a lot already, IMO Au Ra should get more tail options first to balance the discrepancy.

This is true, The first two elezen face selections are the exact same face except one has darker makeup than the other, the two faces offer no changes to any of your face-part selections at all.

I've said this in the past but the races other than Miqo'te/Hyur Really do need some love, many of us are missing a lot of selections (Jaws Types, Eye shapes).

All races need improvements. All of them. How is it ok in a million player game to select between like 4 faces for each race? How is that cool? Why they don't just put some more faces, eye shapes, tails for everyone? Let alone that some faces are almost the same so you don't even have 4 to select. SE can you please work on this? 3 years now the game is stuck on launch day's character customization. This is not cool at all. You can put more faces, eye shapes, nose etc like you out new hairstyles with every patch yet you ignore it.

Highlanders really got screwed over in the face department. 6 faces for Midlander male vs the 4 faces for Highlander.

I would like more sub races added to the existing options. would love to see half elf option for hyur, seriously only needs pointy ear option.

I would be ok with this if they implemented more half-races along with the elezen-hyur option (like au'ra-lalafells and miqote-roegadyns), but if it's just a hyur-elezen options, I'd prefer a totally new race.

Don't remember if this was specifically in regards to the Au Ra or for all spoken races. I checked real quick but couldn't find the post I'm remembering.

But hey, there's a possibility new clans will be an option!

As for me, I just wanna see the 1.0 butts back.

Some of the recent Lore book previews, specifically a page on hyurs, suggest there could be other clans elsewhere in Hydaelyn besides Midlander & Highlander. They've never given any reason to believe there couldn't be more than two clans for each (playable) race.

Also they should fix the fact lalafells model breaks in some places in some poses, how this has still not been fixed is incredible

like the arm is literally bending into the model near the shoulder, and being twisted and squashed on the arm, try it by making a female lalafell and doing /cpose until you get to the one with the arms behind the back, and to be extra clear, this is not the model clipping into itself, it's literally being being contorted as described

This too. All of my life as highlander is putting fake brows... SAD!
