Wouldn't take long for them to learn and get around a filter unless was constantly updated.

Okay, guess our posts were removed that suggested a solid way to remove spam if SE implemented something similar, even though we weren't advertising anything. Makes sense.
I'll go back on record and say SE needs an in-game custom filter that allows players to add words that RMT use to get around what SE's current filter doesn't cover (ie: .c0m)
It was stated at E3 that 3.4 would have better reporting tools.
Yoshi made it clear that he would make it better especially after he got a tell while doing a live showing of ffxiv at E3
I fully support more options that dev to handle the problem, but for some like myself I found adding a channel as tells and turn off the general channel was my best option since I do majority of chat in fc or ls it's a very optional way for some to handle it. If people fall into my category were they don't use the tell system much really good way to control the spam, now if they revert back to shout and yells that be a different story :p Again I agree more could be done though.
In which the poster showed a cropped image from an external program that works in resolving this on PC. That was the issue. The very mention of a working, illegitimate option is enough grounds to remove the post.
I've been dodging any direct examples of the RMT spam messages themselves for precisely this reason.
Which is an issue in and of itself. Showing images of the actual spam inadvertently advertises the gil-selling we despise, but not doing so doesn't allow us to fully convey the invasiveness of it.
No spam on over populated server.
SE Pay for server move.. Issues solved. ALSO 10-20k people to play with...
But if it is cropped and shows absolutely nothing that can link back to any site, is it really advertising? It was cropped to show an example and even all the RMT website words that were on the exclusion list were cropped out. There was nothing actually wrong with the posts, just heavy hands at work again.
Can't totally disagree with you on that, but again, showing an actual program was enough to send it over the edge.
Ya know, I don't like having to wade through 50 players to see an important NPC or to wait in queue to log in.
I like my smaller server.
>>Block Report function from chat.
>>Person gets 30 block reports in less than 30 minutes gets sent to an instance with no /tell /sh /yell feature.
>>Stuck there for proper GM inspection.
