Unable to complete version check

Its 1 in the afternoon here and I'm getting the same problem trying to login on PC. hope something gets fixed soon.

If you scroll up, some folks found some homebrew fixes that work for PC. Us PS4 players aren't so lucky, more than 8 hours after the update :(

Has this been addressed yet by SE yet or are we still just hoping the problem goes away soon?

I looked and looked, but it does not look like anyone on their end has noticed. There are tech support folks who were updating as recently as 11am EDT/midnight Japanese time, so someone's in the office. I'm wondering if all the people who could fix the error and set up a download patch are at home sleeping (it is currently about 4am in Japan).

Having the same issue, on PS4

PC is experiencing the same issues as well. Couldn't download or install 3.35 patch. Uninstalled game, now it wont re-install keeps saying "Unable to install patch files [30413][25008][20495]" at about the 7.5GB in mark

For PS4/PS3, the continuous logging in and getting the error to kickstart the download launcher worked for me.
I've never had to do that before. What's going on, SE? :/

Honestly I just want a "we're working on it".

my friend got in and he ps3. Watching him play x.x

Unfortunatly, I'm having the same issues.

PC - Steam version, tried reinstalling, running as Admin, all the tips here, and even the ones I have to reset the ping... Nothing worked.

I just tried this on PS4. After 4 or 5 download attempts, it started downloading the launcher. So I guess I wasted a day for nothing :p

Some word - any word - from SE could have helped. but I guess the fix is to keep trying without quitting or leaving the game or shutting off the power. Enough tries in a row and it works.

Same issue for me, but my error is slightly different [30410][30607][20457][409]
I tried the "hotfix" from the .ini and doesn't work for me. two more friends ( same country ) are facing the same issue too. so i don't think is something with our clients, our pc, or ips ( we have different companies between us )
Also i don't want to try to reinstall because some people are facing even more problems after that, they're unable to download the last 7gb of patch due the "impossible to check version"

Welcome the final Fantasy 14! Where even logging in is a grind.

Just keep trying over and over and it will finally update. It did for me. It is probably a server handling issue. When too many connections are trying to connect to the patch at once it starts dropping.

The problem is, everytime this happens ( i remember this same problem, back in 2014 where a massive group of players were unable to update their games ) S'E didn't say a single word, the "hotfix" was the boot.ini but it doesn't work for everyone these days ( like me )

Now I did a big mistake to relogin psn network. Now I'm stuck on the please wait login page. It's not my network because someone else in the room is playing FF14 and I'm using ps4 browser to type this.

I got mad cuz I couldnt load the psn login screen so i turned it off that back on. I logged in psn and then tried to login ff14. I got an error again but then the launcher update popped. Hope you guys get in before maintenance.

I am on PC. I have tried every fix that has been suggested so far, from deleting files from the download folder to modifying the boot.cfg to deleting temp folder. So far, nothing has fixed it :(

What it should look like : 201x.xx.xx.0000.0001 - > 201x.xx.xx.0000.0000

Save & boot your game again its should patch your patcher back & force the patch too !

I guess this is my end, i tried to reinstall the game.... and now i can't even download it anymore...
"unable to perform a version update. A problem has occured with the .exe file from one or more of the follwing programs: FFXIV Boot, FFXIV Updates, FFXIV Launcher.
Please resintall the latest version of FFXIV..

I was getting this error in the pc with the full client
and now, after i tried to reinstall the game like the error says, i keep getting it
also, im getting the error in 2 laptops and 1 pc ( not the gaming one)
both laptops and the extra pc, are totally now. this is my first time installing this game on them and im getting the error...

I tried everything that's available on the forum. tried VPN, boot file change , replacing updated boot file but none of them worked but i got it fixed by following one of the Japanese forum reviews

if you are on PC using Chrome as default, go to control panel > Network and Internet > connections > Lan settings > tick the proxy server and press ok twice :) that made it work for me :'D reinstalling the game is pain in the ass :'D good luck everyone

Nice attempt, but doesn't work for me :( if i have to get guess... IP block... which means GG, beacuse Square Enix will blame my ISP and my ISP will blame Square Enix. but i tried with proxy and doesn't work.

My own patcher was doing the same problems. I tried many of the provided solutions on this thread, and others. Including using the boot folder provided before. But now my patcher is doing this instead:

I've given up. This thing patched fine when I renewed my subscription last week. So it's not any of my internet settings.

Having the same problems as Stargod. The only solution that worked so far was the updated boot folder - but now my game won't download anything.

Worst part is that I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling and even cleaning stuff on system registry, but to no avail.

Things like that make me want to quit the game for good. :/

i tried to fix this problem for around 18hrs, by doing everything, from the boot folder, proxy to a fresh OS and a new ISP, nothing works.... yeah, this is the end for sure. almost 3 years playing to end like that....

Do you know how to Port-forward or enable a DMZ server?
