Are the relic/anima weapons even trying anymore?

I might be able to make you feel a bit better about the term concept debate. Think of it more of an overarching term that will be used for all similar items/things in the future. Its a common practice in everyday life, odds are you do it and don't even realize it. Like if you cut yourself you'd ask for a band-aid, right, but thats not the correct term. Or if you told someone to google something; why not yahoo or bing it, lol. Relic will probably stay as the default term and everytime a new quest-line is added people will refer to it as such, but when talking about a specific quest they will specify, zodiac, anima, void, etc. It's like the artifact armor. We've "had" 3 sets but the 2nd one was technically called vintage armor. Overarching terms are very common in anything, its just knowing and understanding which specific "term" you are referring to at one given moment, which is denoted by several factors. In this game for example, the time frame of when we ask the question, "something something relic" tells people what I am asking. It's part of the language, always evolving.

I find the little shield on the bow a bit weird, looks a bit slapped on there tbh, it hangs off the opposite side. I think it would have looked nicer if it was right in front and even looks like it was made for that since there is a trench along the middle of the shield that looks like it an arrow could be placed there. >.<

That's pretty much exactly my thought too. The way it currently looks, it seems more like a visual bug rather than an actual design choice.

Now I wanna see what all these look like, I am not one to inspect people to see what weapons they have. Is there a web page that would have the pictures? The bow shield sounds funny.

Imo the work to get this "glamours" is too much....in time , work / gil ,and for what a shield bow that looks horrible? thanks 4 the offer but i will have to pass ;)

personally not digging PLD's 240 relic looks reminds me of that old lv50 sword that looks like sea coral turned into a blade... but that what glam is for & I'm so gona get me the light sword from Deep dungeon cause I've been wanting a "Light blade" weapon for a LONG while (seams more normal since I use the hide weapons option on everything... thou that would mean only PLD would be cool & MCH/WHM would be more "were did u pull that from?" -_-! meh PLD would look cool so F it)

I love the relic quests, means I don't have to bother with any other weapon for my main...just work on updating the one.

I'm waiting for the upgrade that adds an obnoxious amount of glow so I don't have to see the eyesore that is the SCH book. :'D

In that case why should casuals even bother capping lore or really doing anything to get geared... at the end of the day it's because people want newer and better gear. That's the reason a number of raiders I know raid, rather than some sense of challenging themselves.

That said, the raid gear doesn't really offer anything aside from bigger stats and overdesigned gear; hence why many I know have stopped raiding once they figured out this is how it's going to go.
