Make sure the items are also shipped and sold by amazon themselves, and not third parties. If you're from Canada, it's also useful to make sure the International Shipping box is checked.

I don't think amazon.ca has the promotion available. I just checked a few games on there that were shipped & sold by amazon.ca that didn't show the deal as was shown on the amazon.com page for the same product. Either Amazon.ca isn't in on the deal or they haven't started it yet. You may try going through Amazon.com instead.
This promotion does NOT work on .ca. I was going to pre-order Pokemon Moon and the promotion is available only on the .com version. As a Canadian this really sucks because now I have to ask my family in the US to order it for me. :\
[EDIT] I might just cheep out and get a new mouse. The left click stopped working on mine today so now I'm using a child-sized mouse and it's driving everyone else crazy, lol.
I was able to buy a mousepad for 19.99 and it qualified :D minimal effort!
I have a question about this, hopefully someone can answer it for me.
Ok so I am wanting to buy a game, it should qualify for the promotion, and it is sold and shipped by Amazon itself.
My query is though, when I'm on the game page, under the special offers and promotions section the promotion isn't there BUT, my guess is because the one on the main page of the game isn't the one listed by Amazon themselves, but someone else. I did actually go into the list and picked the one being sold by Amazon themselves, and when I make to the check out page I see under "Order Total: $____" http://i.imgur.com/nU0bZv6.jpg I'm hoping this is what I need to see at the Place Order page in order to receive the code, if anyone can confirm this for me that has already placed an order, I'd greatly appreciate it. ^.^
I have talked to amazon customer support and they have confirmed that pre-orders orders will get the code by june 15th and by some strange of luck, the representative that i talked to gave me the code to use o.o i didnt get so lucky the second time when trying to get the code early for my boyfriend. feel free to give it a shot though!
I saw that text ("DLC Promotion") when I made my checkout order. I also deleted the original item I was going for and added random things without the Promotion text on the product page itself but more than the $19.99 threshold just to see if that text would still appear on the checkout page to test it (these items not sold by Amazon). It did not.
tl;dr;
I think you are fine, Yami.
What can I do as a Canadian player? Can my billing address be Canadian as long as I order from amazon.com?
Is it known yet if it's possible to get two codes without having two Amazon accounts? My girlfriend and I both play FF14 and I've already placed one eligible order.
and yet no word about something for us EU players ._.
I'm pretty sure you can as long as the product ships to Canada. However, I personally don't use .com because I have had very long and lengthy battles with them over my items. It's much easier for me to get someone else in my family who lives in the US to buy my physical items and then mail them to me. (I once had to pay 50$ in shipping for a 9$ book because I live in a very small town. Even though my grandmother, who's PO box is right next to mine, only had to pay 4$ in shipping for her books... Really stupid stuff)
I am getting my boyfriend to get a video game and give me the promo code :p
Yeah that's so sad since there are EU/NA mixed servers. At least they should've wait until EU can get the promotion and do it simultaniously.
It's not the end of the world and stuff, but it's so sad that EU always gets stuff late.
It reminds me of the other FF titles being released in JP -> NA -> EU order, getting everything late.
Patience, I guess!
Just got done chatting with an amazon.com representative:
Initial Question: Hello, I'm a Final Fantasy VIX player and saw that the Summer DLC promotion is currently going on. When I saw that the promotion was listed on the pre-order page for Persona 5, I figured that this would be a perfect time to pre-order it and placed the order. However, the promotion states that I have to make a purchase of $19.99 . As this is a pre-order, I have not actually paid for the item yet and am wondering whether or not the order does in fact qualify for the promotion.
03:37 AM PDT Dev(Amazon): Hello, my name is Dev. I'm here to help you today.
Hello Aphia
How are you?
03:38 AM PDT Aphia: I'm good, thank you!
03:38 AM PDT Dev: Please allow me a moment while I check this for you.
03:39 AM PDT Aphia: Sure thing!
03:40 AM PDT Dev: Thank you for your patience Aphia.
03:42 AM PDT Dev: As I have check this for you and found that on this order it is not applied yet, as in this case I will make a followup for the item, if it will not applied to your order I will issue refund of $19.99 in your original payment method.
Is this helpful for you Aphia?
03:43 AM PDT Aphia: I'm sorry, I'm not entirely sure what that means
03:44 AM PDT Aphia: Does that mean the order does not qualify for the Summer DLC Campaign?
03:45 AM PDT Dev: It will automatically apply to your order once it will ship out, I will personally take care of your order, if it will not apply to your order I will issue refund of $19.99 in your original payment method to your account once it will ship out.
03:47 AM PDT Aphia: Well the problem is that it is a pre-order for a game that will not be released until February of 2017, however the Summer DLC Campaign is only going on until the 27th of this month.
03:48 AM PDT Dev: As I have check this for you and found that you will receive your code by email within 2 business days.
03:49 AM PDT Aphia: Oh, excellent! That answered my question.
03:49 AM PDT Dev: You're most welcome and Thank you so much. I'm glad to help you today. Is there anything else I can help you with today ?
03:49 AM PDT Aphia: No, that was all! Thank you so much!
03:50 AM PDT Dev: It's my pleasure helping you today.Thank you for taking the time to contact Amazon.com. We hope to see you again soon. Have a wonderful day and take care! Bye! Please click the "End Chat" button on the top right corner of this window.

In case anyone was unsure about pre-orders.
I wonder if they considered the fact that people can just cancel the preorder and still get the code.
It has to actually ship out for them to send out the email though. So an early preorder wouldn't work. So if you are banking on a item that comes out months down the road I doubt you qualify for the promotion.
I'm probably a special case because I really do live in the middle of nowhere. XD My community (which is a collection of 3 small towns all 10-30 minutes apart) has a population of 4,000. My grandmother's box might be physically right beside mine, but her zip code is different since she lives in a different "town". It's all quite confusing, we have this problem when ordering lots of things but Amazon was the only one to tack on high shipping so unexpectedly.
Thankfully, I asked my uncle (who lives in the US) about it and he hadn't ordered his grandson's birthday gift yet (his birthday is in August). We agreed to go halfers on it since it applies for the promotion. So I'll be getting my code, no shipping involved, and my cousin's son gets an early birthday present. ^.^ I think it all worked out pretty well. :)
From my earlier post:
03:47 AM PDT Aphia: Well the problem is that it is a pre-order for a game that will not be released until February of 2017, however the Summer DLC Campaign is only going on until the 27th of this month.
03:48 AM PDT Dev: As I have check this for you and found that you will receive your code by email within 2 business days.
So really just pre-order that copy of Skyrim - Special Edition that you know you're going to buy anyway, and get 6 items for Final Fantasy XIV

Thanks, Squeeny. That's some FFXI era segregation. The promotion was tailored to block the (snap!) "rest of the world".
Basically. It's really no different than when games have pre-order incentives (keychain, cheap figurines, sometimes downloadable minigames like how Fable released the gambling mini games early). Sure you could get the stuff then cancel your pre-order, but most people are pre-ordering because they want the game; they aren't likely going to just drop it.
I'm a little sad that not every video game has the promotion on it. :( ..Extra tricky for us Canadians. Go to .com, find something that will ship to us, AND with the promotion. MMMMM.
So would an item that is $19.99 work? Or do I need something over the $20 mark?
What people will do for a maid costume =^.^=
I got Sorcery Saga limited edition for Vita, it comes with a spoon!
There are tons of people that will be buying games on Amazon, that do not play ff14.
Might be a good bet to spread the word on popular sites, gamespot, gamefaqs, etc.
Ask if anyone does not need their code if they can share.
As Canadians, we can order anything from amazon.com with the promo from what I can tell. I have ordered many things in the past from .com when .ca didn't have them, though I switched to using amazon.jp for most imported stuff (cause it's cheaper to have it shipped from Japan then the USA Go figure)
The reason why I'm not happy with using the amazon.com is due to the exchange rate from CND to USD on top of any physical item has to go through customs.. which of course either delays stuff.. and adds extra costs.
I ordered a game I wanted for awhile now. 30$ + Shipping and handling.. + I'm sure customs will tack on another price tag to it + exchange rate. that 30$ USD will be 60$ CND by the time I get it >.<
I clearly stated that the pre-order was for a game releasing in February of next year, but the campaign ends on the 27th of this month. It's impossible to have the code emailed to me two days from the ship date of the game when that's nearly a year away from the end of the promotion.
There's also this (from the eligibility requirements on the official SE site, amazon.com, and the OP):
The item codes are valid until December 31, 2016
I'm pre-ording Rise of the Tomb Raider, the promotion is listed in the special promotions area for the item.
