Its perfect the way it is.. Its the last quest in the story arch of Heavensward.. why do you not want to have to work just a little bit for your victory..
I waited a whole year for Nidhogg to actually get a legit fight, not a weak ass one.
Do not take that from me. Please. I beg you.
Please don't nerf this or weeping city, the community will be better for it. I like a challenge! Anyone that doesn't can go play Hello Kitty :c
Nidhogg has almost 0 unique mechanics, it is basically all dodge ground aoe which is very easy. He has 1 stack mechanic in the last phase on ark morn and that is it.

Oh fer...I hope this is a troll post.
Do have one problem with the Nidhogg fight and its that there isn't a very good... like indicator? I guess would be it, for the dps check. Actually wiped quite a few times still even after kill the last add just before the push but apparently you need to have it down several seconds before that roar and push, was very confusing and frustrating to the party cause we did not know what was happening.
Lets have a look at numbers, square enix have them and if it is needed they will nerf it, point!
Sidenote: Nidhogg is already called "Pugkiller" in public chat, thats not something "normal"
Edit: Suggestion - Stop the stupid onehit wipe mechanics *sigh*
I miss old days and can understand why players just quit frustrated beginning anew and anew... no recovery kills this game!
Edit2: One of the few bosses where you need "sprint"
Oh go away.
Oh not really what I ment, was saying that the "times up" for the dps check is actually several seconds before the roar/push so, so even if we killed all 3 adds just before that roar/push we would still end up dead, we eventually cleared it by pretty much having everyone, heals and tanks, just straight dps. We actually thought it was the circles for a while but nupe we just stood together in mid with for shield and heals, after the quick burn, so yeah like I said that part was just a confusing mess, needs a castbar or something cause that push felt off as a times up.
I'd be upset if he didn't.

Meteor: Deals random damage to the entire party, with the possibility of dealing 9999 to all of them.
its really not that bad honestly i cleared it with a df group where only 1 person had experience.. he took 6-7 minutes to clearly explain the mechanics n what to do = cleared with no wipes since every1 listened.. fair enough healer had to lb3 but still :P
I think Ozma's mechanics are fine, the biggest problem with the fight at least from what I can see is that there is literally little "room" for error, we've had massive arenas for our 24p raids so far and it was usually easy to avoid/scatter when people failed mechanics. Ozma however doesnt have a big enough arena to avoid poorly placed mechanics so stuff like meteors, laser, orbs, heck even the bleed thing ends up causing wipes cause its hard to get away from those not so quick players.
Also shade portal + meteors seem... trolly! Had a fight where we beat shade part but people were still marked for meteors so when everyone went through and back out for Omza and the raid instantly died cause I guess we still got hit by those otherworldly meteors... >.<
Nidhogg has a DPS check? Ran it once in DF cleared it on the second try without anyone explaining anything. So if anything the DPS check is low enough for 1-2 players to be able to carry it as long as the 2 other DPS are doing more than level 50 DPS. If anything needs to change it's players not able to properly deal damage and if they can't clear content because of it then it is time to change how they look at the game as they clearly aren't passing the DPS check for content that most overgear by quite a lot. Only ones that should have any kind of struggle are those in i205-210 gear.
Final steps of Faith is a great fight. I would be upset if they nerf it.
I tried Final steps of Faith last night at 1:30 in the night on a european server, at GMT+1 time. Probably not the best moment to get grouped with skilled players. I was rather surprised it wasn't a 'mostly graphic', but easy fight like the end of 3.0, which is kind of nice.
Though i thought all the raging about Nidhogg on the forums was minstrel ballad. Not MSQ story version. :P
pls nurf. kthxbye
Pay Attention
Pay Attention, and last but not least
Pay Attention
Take your laziness elsewhere, they do NOT need to nerf Nidhogg story or Weeping City. Learn how to play the game or find people who do.
But you will probably get your wish, because there are too many people like you that want everything handed to them.
I for one hope they leave both of them the way they are, so that people actually have to learn mechanics.
People complain about Nidhogg normal? I didn't know that. It's a very basic fight, dps and dodge AoE. We've seen everything already in other trials. And when I hear about them failing the DPS check. Well that's a good opportunity to get rid of Ice Mages, Titan Summoners, IceNinjas, Chaos thrust spammers, /icam 'ers and AFK-press skill-afk-press skillers.
Cleared it yesterday it was a fun fight. And kept me on my toes.
Literally, all the mechanics do are face you to have spatial awareness. If you take off the tunnel vision goggles, you'll be able to notice what's happening and how to react to it. And the dps checks are nothing if you and your teammates are even mildly aware of how to play your class.
I see the great Jim Sterling has graced your presence.
Anyway, regardless on whether or not the fights will get nerfed, it already shows how bad people are. I mean, the most basic rule of MMORPGs is not to stand in the stupid. What do people do? Stand in the stupid. Even my co-healers are always netflixing the fight where they don't even bother to remove debuffs.
Can confirm, the 3 dragons adds is a DPS check. Take them out quick enough, stack up for shields and heals, and hope you took them out in time. A good tell that you made it is that there is a rather long time gap when you killed the dragons and stacking up.
Whats seems to work best is ( pardon i don't remember the names ) Kill Non aggro Hulk Dragon, Lizard Dragon, then Lightning Dragon. Save LB for Lightning Dragon.
I'd like to see Square keep this pace up. The community needs to learn to work together. Just like they learn to do anything else they do in the game. Things get so easy to do that people become super toxic over any slight mistake. I cleared Steps with the first group and second attempt after we wiped. It was busy, fun, and challenging getting everyone coordinated. I also did Weeping City last night, and while I didn't clear it, I loved how challenging the boss fight was, but not how toxic the group was. I feel that if Square stops nerfing content, and forces people to work together, some of the bad attitudes will wear away. But yeah...seriously...people need to learn to play the game and stop expecting to walk into a duty, knock everything over with hardly a shove, and call it a day.
I like how these complain threads get shut down immediately. Seriously, why play at all if your not being challenged. Yes we have EX but even casual players need a challenge. You can't tell me you liked last patches face roll content.
Why do the bosses need to attack the tank. Why does a ninja have to to do damage to enemies. Why do healers have to heal. Please nerf these things. I want to go into a raid or trial and just watch the cutscene.
I was thinking that the other day. I enjoyed the last boss(es) of Stone Vigil HM. I love enemies with no enmity table. It keeps EVERYONE on their toes and as a healer, keeps me extremely busy. In and out of cleric stance as a supplemental DPS in normal dungeon runs gets old after a while. Like I'm just being dragged along with them. But when the field is equal because the tank has no control, it gets even better.
The new stuff is at a perfect level of difficulty.
It's just that people started to become complacent after all the simple "tank and spank" content. It's refreshing to have something I actually have to think about again.
This is actually really sad I got my clear hours after release on my first group we cleared it no problem it's your basic avoid the bad stuff with a dps check and one stack thrown in, I've helped others through it and even though wipes have gotten progressively more common(not sure how that works...) when wipes do happen its clear to see why, people are wanting to be carried and either not dpsing or making not attempt to avoid huge aoes. It doesn't need a nerf.
Neither does Mhach for that matter, literally all the wipes ive seen there is from people after being explained 4-5 times just not paying attention to mechanics and wiping their party or the entire alliance.
I cleared Final Steps of Faith on patch day and boy was it insane and fun XD I LOVED IT! That's how a final battle should be.
As for the Wiping City of Salt, I just cleared it today; even though I got tips from my fellow teammates, it was still hard timing the bosses' mechanics because I was getting blinded by all the flashes from either AOES or casters' magic. lol.
You just need to keep your head in the game, obliterate mobs and bosses with your own strength/power/whatever, and DOOOOODGE!!
Perhaps you will like this game better. no subscription fee either. :)

Just did a nid normal mode, had my healer friend come in to replace a dc healer, since I saw my drg friend in there. Anyways, we told tanks not to pull the adds together because they would cleave the groupe which killed us all (ironicly those adds that are on left and right side and not the big guy in the mid) So we killed the adds, get to last phase where NIN say finally easiest part. BRD and NIN both does 5 times each, drks eats busters without cds, 1 one of them dies on dive/wings. I have no words how much I carried that group with me and my friends heal and yet they talked out of their ass not even saying thanks but saying ''stfu and heal''. This happened after I explained to tanks countless of times NOT to pull the adds together the way they did, because they cleaved the melees we had. I'm sorry for people who has to go through that huge amount of toxic players, espcially when you try to give them advice and pull you hardest gameplay to help the clear. If everyone had that attitude they would never beat the story dungeons at all. How sad people can be.
