I would be much more interested in cosmetic items from other Final Fantasies. Or even an Overwatch collaboration since SE is bringing it to a JP audience.
These housing items are really too expensive though. People want glamours SE :(. More glamour items please.
It is an optional Item because it barely impacts anyone at all. Did anybody request those Lamps? I don't think so. They made them so whoever wants them now can buy them. There's similiar items ingame already for some of those. I have to agree that the prices are too high tough.
The only thing you can buy that gives you a clear bonus in the game is the retainers. I simply don't have enough space for all the crafter stuff while I'm leveling them, plus Items I keep for glamour that can't be placed in the armoire, currencies of the beast tribes, ...
We need at least some more retainers. If SE can put them all up for a fee, the server space should not be a problem.
The ouftits seems fine, but yes those housing items are completely stupid: 10 bucks for an item that I can lose forever if I ever leave the game (y'know, 45 days reclaim and stuff)? Did SE also forget that housing is currently lacking?
And I doubt that someone with a Private Room will dare to spend 10 bucks on such a "fragile" item.
Makes me wonder why they didn't just make them removable like most of the other items, but I digress here.
I mean; it's nice to have items that anyone can get in game, but at the same time it is just furniture, and not detrimental towards the game's health. I think it could be a nice gift for someone if they really like it, but don't have the money for it. (These should have methods that prevent their permanent loss, especially if they're for real $$$)
Awww hell no.
Enjoy your cash shopping modern videogamers...wwww
This stuff could have been put in the game and be acquired from new content...:/
Cant blame SE for adding these items, they know that there is a demand for good looking items and they know that these items sell. Look at the mounts, the outfits the minions, they are selling like hotcakes. SE would be a fool to not taking advantage of. This does not mean I agree with SE, but majority have voted with their wallets and they are oke with it.
Right now FF main characters are from veteren rewards only, but I would not be suprised if we get secondary main characters or viillan outfits in the Mog Station.
They keep adding more and more stuff directly to the mog station and not obtainable in-game. The more accepted this is the more they will expand it and we don't know if it'll stay as "cosmetic/optional" forever (also don't forget extra retainers, which are actually involved in gameplay, are already a thing. It's just a matter of time before they add something else along those lines).
They're gonna keep getting away with it since a lot of people don't seem to care.
Just in time for the housing wards/apartments they are adding in the coming months I guess.
"Glamour is the true endgame" ... Well i hope you glamour goddesses have deep wallets lol!!!
While I have never complained about the Cash Shop and have supported this in the past, this addition to the Mogstation has me worried.
Preface: I own a house, btw, so this is coming from someone who wishes to have those items.
To me, this is a really slippery slope they've decided to test out. The problem I have here is that for the longest of times, everything craftable for housing has been done ingame. This is the first time that furniture has been added to the Mogstation. And we're not talking about any items: These are upgraded items that you cannot get ingame.
Every time we've had the ability to get a 'fancier' model, it was through the game by drops from either Extremes or other avenues to do so. Or, you saved your Gil and bought it on the AH. The fact that this isn't an option is a 180 change of direction for S-E and it makes me wonder if this is not them trying to 'delve' into what exactly they can put in the Mogstation that people will buy, in addition to paying a sub. Furthermore, these items are non removable once it's placed in the home. So if, say, someone who only has a room in an FC decides to plop this in, and the FC disbands? They just lost an item that cost them 15 bucks (more if you aren't in the US). Is that fair, really? Losing a month's worth of a sub because of a decision someone else has? While I can say that everything in this game has a risk of not panning out for you, we're talking about someone dropping money that might be hard earned for some people for the looks.
Then, if this goes well, do they consider going elsewhere? Skins for weapons? They already have clothing: it's not a far stone throw to design weapons and armors next to sell. Iconic items such as Cecil's full armor or Terra's attire would be great sellers, and compound that with iconic weapons such as, say, The Ultima Weapon for Cloud...
I have no issues with Fantasia. I have no issues with the whole marriage thing (I shelled out 40 bucks for the best for me and my wife.) I am, however, starting to have an issue when they are putting things in the Mogstation that may lead to other, more desirable items to be put up.
TL;DR: This is a very slippery slope S-E is on and I'm not too thrilled about it.
Cash shops aren't new and they probably aren't going anywhere unless people stop buying from them which is really unlikely to happen.
Sorta related to the topic but I think those items look really tacky. I wouldn't use em even if they were free. :D
Checks wallet yep still nice and fat :D
I bought the Cid attire, I wanted it for ages, and was one of the people who posted in various threads asking for it to be added, it was content not considered before we offered to pay with real cash, and therefore I'm happy to pay for it.
I honestly think people are over-reacting about the furniture; it's just recolors of what we already have ingame, like the magitek...like the bennu, its exactly the same concept...if you don't want something you don't buy it, if something gets added that you want, you buy it...
It's not items that destroy balance in the game at all.
We definitely don't get any of these threads whenever any item hits the cash shop.
As long as I feel I am getting my money's worth from ingame content and the cash shop isn't selling pay to win items I don't have a problem. Cash shops are an additional source of revenue and at least some of that additional revenue will go back into the game's development. The EU servers were apparently paid for with Cash Shop revenue. We get a patch every 3.5 months which add a great deal of glamour, furnishings and such items.
The other point I would make is that most of these items are made specifically for the Cash Shop and the resources spent on making them are allocated with the revenue from the Cash Shop in mind. That would mean that from a business perspective its likely they would never have been made at all without the cash shop. This won't count for all Cash Shop items but plenty of them will fall into the category.
Do we have some feedback from japanese forum ? I mean, are they upset too or are we (NA / EU) the only ones ?
All these "new" pieces are selling is lighting effects...
You can get the Bahamut Miniature from the OIC Quartermaster for 100k company credits, the stuffed Moogle is a 2 star Weaver craft and the Carbuncle Lantern is a 3 star Goldsmith craft.
It's not about game balance, its about a pay to play game. This has been said a million times over..does it really need to be said again ? I guess so...
In pay to play games you are paying for content, this stuff should have been released as content in game... gotten via drops, quests, farming etc. Anyone can swipe their credit card quickly and be done...that is so boring. I guess that is how some people are now a days..instant gratification! awesome...
Yawn . . . male only gear and the other outfit that's composed entirely of pieces that are already available in game . . . and none of this is dyeable. Pass.
My biggest concern here is how many of these are allowed per residential plot?
I'm a guest tenant in a house. I don't want to buy one and then end up making it impossible for the actual owner of the house to place one. If it is like the Void Ark Coffins where it states "one per plot", it is very important to know. Mogstation and also Lodestone database does not state any limitation on that feature but I don't know if that means yes or no.
Anyone know?
I just want to know if these items get destroyed when you remove them.
If no, I am fine with them.
If yes, then I will riot.
The items say they get destroyed by "The removal of this item by another player"...
You should be able too, they changed it so you can glamour one-piece gear like this or Minfilia's outfit.
Also size, the difference in size is evident on the moogle being larger than the original in game version and the in game original dreadwyrm is larger than the miniature mogstation one.
The pic shows the moogle is roughly 3 lalafels height compared to the crafted moogle's one lalafel height. See mogstation pic "size comparison" for more details.
The Mogstation Carbuncle lamp is bigger than the current in game one also.
Carbuncle lamp original is FC furniture purchase with FC credits.
Normally i'm fine with the cashshop but what were they smoking when they priced them it's laughable.
$15 for Premium Stuffed Moogle is a lot, If it was like $5 I would buy it.
Does anybody have a good image of the Premium Stuffed Moogle? A link on reddit made it look like a really low-quality texture was being used on it, but the screenshot also looks like it was taken with a potato:

If it is actually a low-res texture that's even worse.
The carbuncle lamps don't scream "buy me" to me so I can't 100% confirm this but I'd guess they probably don't get destroyed on pick-up. Note that they actually don't say "destroyed" they say:
The key phrasing is "May result in the loss" in regards to another player; which I take to mean as someone in the FC with privileges could pick it up and steal it. If they could pick it up and take, then one would assume it wouldn't get destroyed like other rare items.Quote:
* This is a furnishing item for housing. Please note that the following may result in the loss of this item:
・The removal of this item by another player.
・Leaving or being discharged from a free company.
・Unsharing an estate.
・The demolition of an estate.
* This item will be distributed to a single character on the selected account.
Anyone who's bought them feel free to chime in on if they can be picked back up after being placed.
only issue i have with this, is it is a bit pricey. cash shops in mmos are normal btw.
Buyable furniture is odd...but if they didn't have time to make some tedious quest for it, I don't mind.
I bought the lamps - $5/each USD.
I placed the topaz carbuncle lamp down in my house. I picked it up. I stuck it back in my retainer bags.
I have tenants, which is the sole reason I don't have them out (tenants take up space with their furniture too). When I get home from work, I'll put one down, and ask my brother to attempt to pick it up. I gather that tenants could move the item, but if they try to place in the bags, that'd destroy it. Can confirm later, if wanted.
