That will never happen because the devs stated how the player base complained about Titan HM being too difficult for the final step in 2.0's relic, so now all relic steps involve some sort of long grind.

Now imagine what would happen if the materia melding step came in the form of overmelds. Like you would need to overmeld a large ammount of materia with very low success chances and that would be their way of keeping it a terrible grind. How would you guys feel about it?
As long as they keep those capitalist scumbags my server calls 'crafters' out of it, i will be happy.
Even a materia grind i can live with...
As far as I've seen Gilgamesh isn't that bad in comparison to smaller servers. Maybe it is in comparison to its fellow large servers, but atleast the last time I compared prices between Greg and Famfrit Greg was much better.
Admittadly that was back in 2.45.
Ahh I can for sure see why you would think so then. Even if you mean all in total for the prices Gilga prices have atleast dropped a bit, spent 2 mil in total for all the crafted items. But not sub 100k.
I hope part of the new Anima step involves having to go through the Crystal Tower series. Queue times for them would suddenly stop being non-existent.
Guess ilvl of the relic+1 n process be announced soon
Guess:
3.25 - Ilvl 220-225 - This is due to Sepex wpns n Lore Wpns, which SE doesn't want to make them obsolete yet
3.3 - ilvl 230-240 - Shd be a ilvl wpn lower than Midas
As mention in one of SE live letter, ilvl of relic wpns, depends on statistic clears for current available wpns
and Perhaps 3.25, will add the glow and Materia slots .
As usual, crafting activities will be part of the process.
Just want to say that as a precedent, Crafting was only needed for the Achievement Steps for both the Relic an Anima Weapons an Upgrading the former to the Zodiac weapon (the penultimate step), I'd imagine that its far too early to bring back the Crafters, but hey I was wrong about Yasha gear being dungeon drops so what do I know :p
Materia however is fair game, as is doing very specific tasks like waiting for FATE on an one mouth timer, or farming CT and Void Ark for new items, or Light farming.
so seems relic is 230 going by patch notes
Yep, officially 230. No reduction in for the 210 step so I might skip the DRG relic and go for PLD instead since I don't think I'll have all my unidentifiables by next week.
Also 240 almost gaurenteed for 3.3.
Probably just a glow, MAYBE a recolor.
We're getting another Relic step in 3.3, and since new ilvl in general won't be till 3.4 AND they won't be going above 240 because of raid weapons it had to be, at best, 230 this patch (which it is) and 240 in 3.3.
does anyone know if the I230 going to have a diff model (skin) or is it the same as I210.
New relic ilvl on par as the lore weapon, hmm idk how I feel about that. Hoped it would be higher than lore. Sure its possible one might have better secondary stats, but if I don't care about that but rather the base damage of the weapon, then might as well just go with the lore weapon at this point, since the lore is easier to get, with we having been able to do A8 for the tokens for 5 weeks. Of course it depends on the actual grind for the steps.
I fear it will be something like this:
Go to Diadem and get 50 1% dps from every Star rank... Diadem is pretty dead on some servers so they may force us to 'enjoy' Diadem again.
The 3.25 relics are almost certainly the same models, as they have the same names just with Hyperconductive tacked on.
3.3 will probably bring it up to 240, and seeing as how we never got casual mode gobdip until 3.2, I'm guessing lore weapons won't be possible to (non-raider) upgrade before 3.4. Never know, though. They keep changing stuff around.
I don't like the secondary stats on my relic gun, but I'd rather just upgrade the relic and use my midan gears and 1k tomes on another job. Tough decision. :( I need a savage static.
Well there are the weapons themselves (Replicas included this time, shame they don't unclue the dyable stuff,), an the only other items are Chocobo race relate stuff...and an odd item called Aether Oil. I'm gonna take a guess and say that it is needed in getting the Hyperconductive Weapons, and that they will likely come at least from the House of Splendors branch in Iddylshire (Maybe BT tokens, but I'm likely gonna use them exclusively for getting Anima weapons to this point before getting the Oils with them)
Other possible ways of getting them would be a Daily quest like for Alexandrite (for Level 60 this time) and maybe an option for the Gift of the Archmagus (that we can only get on Sunday :p) or Drops from Midas
I'm thinking well need to lots of Diadem farming at some point.
The patch notes for 3.25 only list one new item being added that sounds like it's associated with the relic, so I feel like this step will actually be simple. You will just have to spend two weeks worth of lore to upgrade it.
That means in two weeks you have a choice, you pick up your lore weapon or you go ahead and upgrade your relic weapon right away, giving you options for secondary stats.
Then the next step will go back to soul sucking grinding.
So even before we can get a lore weapon because of weekly lockouts the new anima step has the same ilvl... yyyyyyup, this is gonna be either super grindy or super stupid. Or probably both.
Hoping the oil isn't 1000 lore and boom i230. Yay no grind. Saved up 1000 lore just in case but would rather use it on gear and grind for the relic.
I still refuse to do the grind for the 210 weapon. And since the patch notes are up and they haven't eased that grind, I will just get my Lore weapon and be happy next week I suppose.
From what certain... uh, excavation-inclined people have found out, it appears the next relic step is easy.
You need 5 of those oils. You can either buy them for 1800 esoterics a pop, or get 1 per week from the Crystal Tower weekly quest.
Edit - Oh, and there's no materia slots on them, but the secondary stats are higher to compensate.
Example: Bard i230 lore weapon has 114 SS and 74 DET.
The i230 Relic weapon has 114 CRIT and 109 DET. So it's 35 points over budget, which is more than you'd get with 2 T5 materia slotted in (2X12 = 24).
Heck it's almost like they're expecting to create a T6 materia or something when the item level goes up again...
5 weeks of doing the CT raids once a week, that's incredibly easy. Now if only I had not been lazy and completed the Anima... still not worth it at i230 with the Lore weapons to be honest.
