Title: "Confliction"
Submission Comment: In this piece I wanted to represent the anxiety and internal conflict of those living in the Brume. It is divided into 4 parts: Part 1 represents the unknown, Part 2 represents growing hope, Part 3 represents fear, and Part 4 represents anxiety/uncertainty.
This piece was recorded a cappella simply because I cannot play any of my instruments well enough to record. I wanted to make sure I used the right medium to portray my message. Arranging, vocals, editing and mixing all done and lyrics written by myself. Not all of my tracks have been video recorded simply because there was no more space for any more images. However all tracks are present in the audio, as it was recorded and created before the videos were made.

Title: "Rave in the Brume"
Description: I created a fun trance/dubstep remix entry for the FFXIV Heavensward remix contest. I envisioned a tune where the denizens of the Brume got down away from the prying eyes of the nobility in The Pillars. Also, when starting this tune out, I found the chord structure of the Final Fantasy standard "Prelude" fit this perfectly, so I mashed them up. Hope you enjoy!
Favorite FFXIV Tunes: As soon as I stepped foot into Azys Lla, I fell in love with the epic power of "Order Yet Undeciphered". Those organs! Of course, "Unbreakable", the theme of Fractal Continuum is a powerful reprise of the epic final zone theme. Finally, gotta throw back to Titan's final phase, "Under The Weight". Such a great jam!
Thanks for listening!

"The Forgotten Night"
This is a version of "Night in the Brume" played on a sampled collection of baroque instruments, including a hurdy gurdy. I also halved the tempo for most of the piece to create a more upbeat version that I could see being played around the fire at the Forgotten Knight, either in celebration or relaxing after a hard day adventuring in Ishgard. Finally, the piece is intertwined with the Prelude Theme from many Final Fantasy games. I hope you enjoy it!
My favorite songs from Final Fantasy XIV include Tempest, Primal Timbre, and Down the Up Staircase.

"When the Fog Rises"
Arranging Final Fantasy music for my band to play is honestly my favorite hobby, so I couldn't NOT enter this contest. Everything was arranged by me, recorded by me on my laptop, and filmed by me on my phone. All recorded performances are single takes (that is, no comping), of course with the exception of my five vocal layers. The title suggests an image of the denizens of the Brume rising up against the nobility, as if the fog itself was rising from the Foundation into the Pillars.
Favorite FFXIV tunes have to be Twilight Over Thanalan (bring it back!!!) and Against the Wind. And who doesn't love the theme for Brute Justice!
Thanks for listening. Good luck everyone!

Nightlife in the Brume
Not every night in the Brume is quiet and serene. Sometimes it is exciting and fun. People might even dance. That was my first experience in the Brume as Heavensward went live in the middle of the night in my timezone so it was a hub of excitement. This is a musical attempt to capture that essence.

“Voices in the Brume”
I enjoy composing and arranging music and I grew up playing Final Fantasy games, so I was excited to see this contest! My partner in the folk duo I play in also plays FFXIV, so it seemed fitting to arrange something that we’d be able to perform ourselves. This is a synth version, but I’d love to record it on the actual instruments (guitar, hammered dulcimer, 4 voices) soon!
The music in FFXIV is fantastic and it’s really hard to pick favorites! The second part of the Ultima fight music is right up there for me, and I absolutely love the primal serenity of “Whisper of the Land.” My partner in the duo (Waenlona in-game) would be angry with me if I didn’t give some recognition to “Pa-pa-ya” here. We’ve had many a happy Hatchingtide infecting each other with that earworm.

Submission Title: Snowfall in Ishgard
My inspiration for this arrangement was both the breathtaking music of Heavensward and the character Haurchefant. This music conveys (spoiler ahead!!) how I imagine the Warrior of Light would feel in the days after Haurchefant’s death: sad, but also hopeful and determined to not let his sacrifice be in vain. I used the Heavensward theme, as I believe it is an amazingly emotional piece and found that it helped tell the story of my arrangement of Night in the Brume.
Favorite Songs: Answers and Heavensward.

I really love the chords and melodies throughout Night in the Brume. It's a wonderful piece of music with a great amount of variety and it was quite a challenge to squeeze everything I wanted to within the allotted 2 minutes and 30 seconds. It was a lot of fun though and I want to thank Masayoshi Soken and the whole FFXIV team for giving us this opportunity. Please take a listen and I hope you enjoy!

"Reminiscent Song in the Brume"
I had a lot of fun with this! Night in the Brume originally inspired me to try and arrange the Ishgard theme months ago (I never finished it), so being able to do this was a fun push. :D The most challenging thing was actually playing it, but I tried to do it justice. My inspiration was the idea that in the calm of the night, there are hidden pasts and secrets to the history of Ishgard; it turned into the Warrior of Light reminiscing on some of the moments from their journey throughout Dravania.

Submission Title: Keys to the Brume
Description: Countless pieces of music from FFXIV have inspired me to sit down at the piano and rock out, but I always tend to leave the pieces unfinished - this has been a perfect opportunity to follow through and finally finish a piece. This submission is a transcription/cover of "Night in the Brume", essentially intended as a (mostly!) faithful piano rendition of the in-game track. I loved the instrumentation in the original, and tried to focus on adapting the voices cleanly to the piano.
Favourite songs: Answers (more Susan Calloway, please!), Penitus (Praetorium), The Scars of Battle (as well as the Lost City of Amdapor (Hard) theme)

Night in the Brume (+ONE Remix)
I have so much love for FINAL FANTASY XIV that I wanted to create a song that captured the beautiful and melancholic feel of “Night In the Brume” along with the epic experience of entering Ishgard for the first time. Every sound in this entry was created and performed entirely by myself.
I’m incredibly impressed with the music in this game and how it keeps getting better and better. Big thumbs up to Masayoshi Soken and the sound team for continuing to do an awesome job!
