Idk how this bike would work in ffxiv, but in the movie "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" I saw this bike spin a 360 (during mounted combat) while driving forward(imagine a frisby in motion) and it never slowed down to do so. Also this bike could bunny hop and ride up mostly vertical cliff walls. Flight however, wouldnt work. But it would give us reason to travel on land mounts in the HW areas. I would not pass up any extra speed though.
You know this discussion makes me want to run a dungeon where you start at the beginning of a road-like instance and must run like hell to the end and not get caught in explosions while riding mounts and dodging debris lol. Maybe a mini game. dungeon doesnt seem viable. -

The issue isn't immersion based. As The Garlean Empire has motorbikes and even cars. Eorzea is just stuck in the dark ages.
The issue is from a gameplay perspective. It's a motorbike and it would look like it was going REALLY fast but actually be at the speed of a Chocobo. Which honestly...would be very odd.
Now if it moved at Flying Mount speed it would work. But...then rendering becomes an issue in ARR zones.
So they'd need to merge (and thus expand the ARR zones).
It's ALOT of work for 1 mount.
Maybe when we goto Garlemald we'll get this mount and some superior to everything Garlean mounts. -

only way I could see Clouds Advent children bike being in game is if its like a chocobo porter in later content areas. or introduced as a mini game, or they somehow control its turn rate/dift so that if your going to use it, its to piddle around on not for serious travel.

This would be fine, if fat chocobos and goobbues can fly as fast as dragons and griffins i have no issues with a chocobo speed magitek motorcycle, honestly Clouds bike isn't outside of the lore at all, ffxiv is pretty advanced.
Besides.. guardian corps uniform + the glorious new spiked hairstyle my female hyur can finally use + the epic swooshing noise Blazefire saber makes (gun mode for mch please) needs a bike to complete the look. -
