3.2 Tome Gear

After watching the trailer, it's hard to tell what is going on. The tank clearly is wearing an Ifrit set and healer has a Shiva set on. MCH was wearing what looked like Leviathan.

Yeah, after seeing it, I'm pretty sure that it goes something like this now:

Ifrit - Fending and Striking
Leviathan - Scouting and Aiming
Garuda - Maiming
Shiva - Casting and Healing

Guess the article was worded poorly. :p

Well I'm crossing my fingers that the six ARR primals have a set for DoM and DoW.

I'm hoping that they were just wearing placeholders and those sets aren't ready yet.

Casters and healers wearing the same thing is just pure laziness on SE's part if not. Same with Monks and Tanks (THAT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE!!!)

It's dumb if that's the direction they're going with.

At least with MCH/BRD/NIN sharing the same set you could lazily wave off as 'well they're all DEX classes', and Healers/Casters as 'they're both magic users', but MNK and Tanks? That makes less sense.

I feel like their gear design is more towards JP players than elsewhere. Having moved from Sarg. (NA) to Ton. (JP) I've noticed JP love to glamour a whole lot more. It'd not surprise me to find out they sacrifice time on tome sets to work on glamour items.

...I'm not sure I can agree with this statement. I mean I've never been to Sarg, but on my server just a casual walk through Idyllshire shows me the glam is strong here.

I think glamours are strong on most servers some people don't care but there are a lot of people who like them even early on a lot of the people calling for glamours and roleplay aspects like marriage were Western players. Certainly on servers like Balmung that have a large roleplay community you see glamours everywhere there.

Can someone link me where it's confirmed they are palete swaps. I know that one article listed it as The Hailstorm set of Casting. But in the video it looked to me as if the person using that set of the same color was healing, while the BLM had a different weapon, making me think the article got it wrong.

I did also notice some differences between the tank and MNK sets.

But I would not put it past them to palete swap so that they could release the other primals as the next set.

Of course, this seems to be "The Glamour Patch" with all the sets being released, so I'm not too upset, especially with the financing it has been rumored Yoshi is not recieving.

I really hope it's not just a palette swap... Why can't we all just be special snowflakes?? Tired of looking like a white caster!

Hmm yeah im on Zodiark and my fc is laughing at me that i even glam cls' i just starting with :3 – currently i have 4/8 retainers just with glam stuff and half of my money goes into crystals xD ... but i think although i see lots of glams around me, im still over the top on this topic ^^

edit: just cant wait for the primal sets no matter how they will look like in the end... i need all of them except the melee ones, so personally i dont care which cls will get which set : p

Well on FFXIV facebook site they cleared it all up. Shiva is healer set and was mislabeled as caster.

I think glamour is still pretty popular. Most people want to look a certain way whenever they are doing stuff in the world... No one wants to look like a chump. ;)

Disappointed but not surprised that healers and casters get the same set. We don't even get a pallete swap this time...! Really hoping this stuff is dyeable right out the gate to compensate.
