Well, all I can say that I wasn't too happy with Heavensturn this year. It was really really REALLY short.
But I can forgive some of it since we had XI and Starlight event, which both were great.

I like camping the event fates as a healer and rezzing the people who die. :)
Last year we also had a Starlight Festival, which involved a daily task of visiting different Christmas Trees for tokens to get presents. Last year we then had a Heavensturn that saw us visiting all three city-states and doing silly little quests with a lamb.
This year we had a Starlight Festival that involved crafting a bell hammer (or buying one from the MB), and ... that's it. This year we then had a Heavensturn that involved a single fate that's super-easy as ranged, damned annoying as melee, and ... that's it.
It doesn't really feel like this year is equal to last year, even if you use the FFXI crossover event as an excuse.
I don't like most events in this game except from few good ones. The rewards are most of the time just boring. The quests the same. Well I didn't like most events in other games too. I guess events are not my thing. The one with the Yoshi room was brilliant though.
So far I have experienced the summer beach event, the halloween event, the anniversary event, the winter event, and now this one. By far my favorites were the summer one and the anniversary one. I'm very glad I didn't miss the anniversary one cause that was just so EPIC. I'm glad we're able to see the cutscene whenever we want. And the summer one was nice cause you could grind out tokens and get stuff. To me, that's what a festival should be. Not a HUGE grind, but still a grind to get tokens to purchase goodies. The halloween one had nice rewards, but was still short. The winter one was....rather disappointing to me. And this new year one... I'm debating on whether to do it just to get the achievement. The reward was awful. I may buy the housing items though, but otherwise... Yah. I'm hoping the rest of the events this year are better. It does seem like they are focusing on putting a lot of stuff in the cash shop. I get they need to make money, but I do feel like new players are being punished for not joining earlier. I'd rather have to work harder to get the old items in game, rather than use real money. But that's just my opinion.
I'm surprised at how short it was. I expected to do more stuff after the FATE, but that was pretty much it.
I do like the housing items, though, especially the Paissa
This years was a little disappointing. You blink and it was done.
