what's the point of specialist recipe?

When I became a Alchemist specialist some weeks ago these specialist skills made me wonder how to use them so I asked the crafter pros of my FC.
They told me specialist skills are useless and I have to level other crafting classes....

So my specialist crystal does not help me craft at all?
If it was like this for battle classes and all job skills are bogus the forum would explode.

I think there are two aspects people are conflicted with due to the 'Specialist' comming into the game:

1. You can only have 3 specialties. So onmicraft (Remember this is only for the new items, rest is still omni) isn't posible.
In my opinion this is great. People can't dominate the market on their own. Also it is an amazing oppertunity to make a good community on your server. Just like PVE we have statics. You could consider making a 'crafting static' and together you can all make new content stuff. Or just make a Link Shell where crafters can work together.

2. The 'Specialist' title doesn't really have a value.
I think this is where SE still needs to come with improvement. The specialist skills have at this point no value. It's quite useless to even consider using due to the current skills we have. I would like to see some use in these skills so we become 'Specialists'. I hope SE will do something about this otherwise the specialist title isn't so special.

All those specialist I choose (GSM, WVR, LTW)... none of them can craft for Anima Weapon... WTF.

I think SE give some love for CUL and ARM specialist... :(

And now imagine every battle class had the exact same skills, except for two which you can cross-class on all others.

There would be a lot of things exploding if battle classes worked like crafting classes...or vice versa, for that matter.
