I can never decide what i want my character to be.

I like Hyuran proportions
I like having cat ears and a tail
I like elezen's poise.

And sometimes i just want to be a lady version of those things.

I I could somehow combine all of those, i'd never need to change again.

I also like running animations that don't look like i have a parachute attached to me.

3 Days ago I bought 3 in one afternoon and used them all, I'm so ashamed and got a fantasia ban from my bf for 2 months - I'm okay with that ._.
altogether it were 9 since I began to play this January

This is why I changed away from Elezen. Or at least most of the reason. The body proportions with certain gear sets also seems a bit off.

Hi I'm Teryaani and I'm a fantasia addict.

I wish we could chose emote animations a la carte. I'd likely go with fem-highlander with a mish-mash of miqote and aura emotes.

I made this cat guy and I'm actually pretty happy with it. Happy enough at least to save the appearance right before I fantasia again in the next couple of weeks.

I've only used three.

The first was to adjust my voice and face (with the free Veteran Rewards one), and I made a couple changes at the same time that were minor but that I ultimately regretted. A few months ago, I decided to see what it would be like to be an Au'ra and tried to "convert" my character as best I could, just for fun. I knew I was going to go back ultimately, but I only lasted about 15 minutes before I bought another one. When I switched back, I reversed the alterations that I had regretted from my original fantasias.

I don't know how others use them so often--I would feel like Alahra no longer had an identity if she were anything but the way she is.

I think many of us are still trying to find our character's identity. Then you have those that buy name changes as well, so the identity needs to be found again as well.

That depends on who you're asking.

Some of us use it as a backstory reset button when we either aren't happy with the way things turned out or the personal storyline ended. Others don't forge an attachment to the character outside of it being a playing piece in a game or as a virtual dress up doll. For others, it's simply a matter of getting bored. And I'm sure there is an endless list of reasons people change often. I personally fall into categories 2 and 3 mostly with a little bit of 1 thrown in. It's a virtual dress up doll in a game that has a story that railroads me along (Par for the course in MMOs) and who's looks I occasionally get bored of.

Ive used a ton even back when SE gave us one I used my one-time recovery thing to get it back before the cash shop existed then made alts to get more. Ive changed my main 12-14 times to everything but elezen and mostly all female except now Ive been a male kitty twice now. Ive never had a clear reason why I do it I thought it made me friends but it annoys ppl now. My retainers also suffer with about 6 used on each of them to match me a bit. The games Sims and Secondlife i played before this so i blame them but really i can barely can afford to sub but i have $10 to throw at fantasias all the time.

I've been trying to buy this exact thing for the past hour and keep getting error 401 no matter what credit card i use. This fantasiaholic very sad :(

I blame all of players who supported; "fantasia or riot/put fantasia in cash shop" threads for why we have our addictions.

They should've just dropped from retainer ventures.

I used one of my free ones, and I almost fell into the fantasia spiral. Were it not for me underestimating how much I love my au ra and the price of the fantasias, I would be going back and forth between manqo'te and male ra often. Just to stave off the want, I made an alt of my old looks. If I had money to burn, then maybe, but even then it all adds up. x.x

Paying for gender swapping/race swapping has been in games like wow for years. Actually I feel this is the one thing SE does right in that regard since WoW has you pay separately for gender change and race change. Stingy.

Not a fantasia addict but I have a Japanese friend who uses it at least twice per week. Sometimes he copies the look of in-game NPCs just for fun. I remember asking him last July how much he has spent on them. He said around 100,000円 or US$800+ since it was implemented.

I've yet to change my main since I started playing about 6 months ago. I still have my free one on my retainer (hoping to get a 2nd this Christmas). But just recently, I decided to change into a female kitty for a change of pace and already have my look made out. :P But will probably only be that way for a few weeks before I change back to male. I just love my male kitty too much!

Some people in my FC have definitely changed a few times, sometimes for a few days, or a few weeks before they are back to their original look.

I... I don't even wanna think about how much I've spent on Fantasias over the last year and a bit that I've been playing XIV. Too much. Way too much.

I've used 10 Fantasias since expansion release (started about an month before it was released) with last of them happening in last month ~~ already thinking of purchasing another one. :/

Bought all the fantasias before you could buy singles, used every one of em. I usually buy one once a month, depending on what I change to it might be twice. They joke about me in my FC lol.

After reading all about how none of you are even trying to tone it down, my addiction got real. Before, I had a slight drinking problem, from time to time I'd down a whole Fantasia bottle and get weird looks for it from friends.
But now I buy them en masse and start drinking as soon as I see the tiniest flaw in the mirror because I can't cope with it anymore.
THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT FOR MAKING ME THINK THAT KIND OF BEHAVIOUR IS OKAY!:(
I drank 3 today, just because I wasn't happy with my nose! Apologize already! And give me more fantasias as an apology gift! *greedy look*

Error 401 prevented me from buying the 5 pack. I'm kinda happy about that.

I had a free one so I tried a new look since every noe and then I play with the create a new character. I even changed my character name. But I missed my old look and name so I bought one and put it all back.

At least I can say I tried it. I like experiments.

While I totally agree Lalas need some slightly different voices, there is nothing more awesome than a male lala with one of those super low voices. My friend had that, cracked me up every time.

Well, some Lalafells in lore do have deepish voices: the English voices of Krile, Teledji Adaledji, Dewlala Dewla, and Lolorito to name a few. The discrepancy between deep voices and not-so-deep voices, to me, give the Lalafell just a small hint of mystery.

EDIT: More on the topic of the thread, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who will buy a Fantasia from time to time, just because I want to look different. SE made playing alts so rigid that it's uncomfortable. Every time I buy Fantasia, I feel guilty.
