Coffin Lid and wind up Echidna too rare?

Yeah rolling against the whole raid pretty much means plebs like myself will never get one T_T

I do like them being so rare as it makes it more exclusive. We have nothing really special in the game at the moment beside titles and they don't consume gil.

The bid is up to 90million on my server and I love item bid rushes like this to motivate people running them :)

I saw precious Echidna on my run on Tuesday. Lost count of how many times I ran VA now.. lost the roll with a 15 of course, a guild mate got her. She's hiding in her coffin when you poke her long enough hahaha.

Also, the Coffin Lid goes for 75M 80M on Cerb, nobody bought it yet. (Obviously..)

I never saw throne gem once. My retainer however did and also he must've won the roll :D

Been doing void ark every day 1-3 times since it's release, still haven't seen any drop.

I farmed the pets and got them both) from CT and WoD back on the days, and it had a better drop rate than Void Ark, plus the queues were faster than Void since it was the only casual content.

Maybe we should wait until 4.0 to get 100% drop just like CT and WoD now...

I've received the Echidna card about 60% of the times i've run it, but I have yet to see the 4th chest with the minion spawn even once.

Whelp, people complained that there wasn't enough RNGrare things in this game to special snowflake, so, we got something.

I was expecting the 4th chest to drop as often as it did for ST or WoD and that for me was good enough. Now it seems to be too rare in my opinion.

It's good and all but maybe could drop a little bit more often... :/

I've done 93 runs of Void Ark since release as of this post. I had a chest drop on Run #17 and Run #56, only the minion both times, have not seen a coffin lid. I'm all for having rare things, but maybe one 4th chest in every 50 runs seems a bit extreme?

I haven't even seen it yet and i run Void Ark multiple times since it got added.

Hehe a wind up echidna actually dropped in one of my runs and I won against 23 other people with a roll of 94 \o/ but I have yet to see a coffin lid drop.

Usually when i roll 94 someone with 97 takes it...
However, still never seen 4th chest drop -> its a myth :mad:

Well, I'm up over 150 runs of void ark... I stopped counting at 136 and that was 6 days ago. I've yet to see a 4th chest since run #56, still haven't seen a coffin lid period. Since release there's been 3 coffin lids that have popped up on the market boards on Hyperion.


So crazy how low the % chance has to be for the fourth chest.

I imagine the drop rate will be upped in 3.3

Any word on if they are going to fix this? Lol there isnt even any on the MB for me to buy D:

Just going to report that I've still yet to see the fourth chest... I'm going to have to assume it's bugged or something, either that or it's more rare than Invincible.

i just hope they nerf its rarity BEFORE the void ark becomes dead, like the crystal tower raids

Only 3 items so far were obtained on moogle. I' m certain the drop rate is way lower thanthe other CTs. Ran VA about 80 times. Never seen it.

the card is very common, for me it's like 90% drop rate, crafting drop is rare, propably 1% drop rate and it's fine, not every item needs to be common, did not even know there was a minion though.

I did about 120 leviathan extreme runs to see a pony drop for the first time (before any nerfs).

There's a difference between uncommon and almost non-existent though, besides, it's not a mount or anything you show off. It's an item you place in your house for decorative purposes, not much else. Now, if it was an incredible weapon glamour I'd understand, but it's not.

Right now is this anything like a Rats tail or gear off the crystal dragons in the fourth game? God help me if its anything like trying to learn those Goblin and bomb summons.

(Unless the rarity is due to its effects in lords of verminion... but the coffin lid... Unless I can toss/hide someone in it... they should add more void décor that can be made from it.)

As rare as Hunting Hawk. I've been doing 100+ Diadems and no drop.
Been doing 20+ Void Arks per week and never seen the 4th chest.

As a pet collector this is way too frustrating and time-consuming. I got the CT minion and WoD minion when these 24-man raids came out and I think i saw the pets 4-5 times a week. WoD pet took me longer, but at least I had some chances to get them wich gave me some incentive to keep trying.

Never seen either and I have run it since the patch release. Oh well. Maybe one day I will see it.

In all my Void runs, and i've been running it since it came out many times a week, i've only seen the 4th chest a single time which had the minion. Of course...i didn't win. D:

Never seen the coffin lid yet.

Hunting Hawk is absurd and, unless SE breathes some life back into Diadem soon, it's only going to get more expensive. It's 20mil on Leviathan.

There is a reason why FFXIV is losing players pretty fast... just look at statistics :)
No progress and i mean NO... didnt see most of the new pets even droping! its totally a myth, they NEVER drop!!!

Slime and other pets were 100% in one dungeon chest - look at statistics, because it was 100% it doesnt mean everyone have it.
Only if you sell pets you are aiming to make them rare, that have nothing to do with game fun and is only seen in online games where other gamers try to make profit from the poor...

Continue to look at statistics, the game back then when we had many more 100% drops - we had many more players too! -> Did they unsub because of frustration? Maybe!

It is definitely beyond frustrating. I've taken a break on running the void ark as I've gotten dangerously close to burnout. I only ran void ark this last week once just to get a weekly drop. I had been running 4-5 times a day from when I got home from work until I went to bed - near 200 runs (I stopped counting at run #136, but was still running continuously).

At the end, I literally hadn't seen a 4th chest in more than 100 runs, and I've still yet to even see a coffin lid. There have been three sold on Hyperion for 20-30 million and there's one currently up for 50 million gil. I don't mind things being rare, as it is fun to chase rare items that are hard to get. However with the Wind-up Echidna and Coffin Lid not only are you fighting the odds of the fourth chest EVEN appearing, you've still only got a 1 in 24 chance of actually winning it.

To put things in perspective if you don't believe the rarity is a little excessive, on xiv-minions.com, there are 316,436 characters tracked.... 783 have gotten the wind-up echidna only 0.2%.

Brings me back to my RO days when cards only had a 0.01% drop rate. Ah those were the grind days xD

Only saw each of these drop twice. Never saw them again.
