I like all their changes so far, and as someone who played beta and got the collectors the first day. All I have to say is when I saw 1.19 patch notes I saw light from the darkness and now I see Version 2.... I have to say Finally Fantasy XIV is arriving and now the light is too bright that went I'm blind. Can't wait till they release it, the concept art looks awesome I hope they give us exactly what's in the picture or even better =D.
I feel so sorry for the people who run the FFXIV Wiki's when this is released...lmao
The version update made me so incredibly excited I'm going to post text in red!
Pretty awesome stuff, loving the new look of that UI, plus seems they are upgrading to Luminous, will def need a new PC, because I expect a decent graphical boost when 2.0 comes out, especially looking at that 2.0 screen.
That Dragoon armor looks awesome too.
Far too much good stuff coming, I am excited !!
My lala will be ditched for a male miqo'te, he will be missed.
I'm stunned with excitement and being completely caught off guard by the amount of content, art and details they released out of no where! I'm flipping pumped even more for this game and extremely optimistic about what's to come!
The only thing I'm afraid about is not the games future itself, I'm confident in its success one day, I'm just nervous about the part when it was talking about new servers and clients and what not.... I hope I don't lose contact with my server and all my friends on there~ >.< I hope I misread it though and just jumping to conclusions. Hope some of you have a better answer to help me out with that.
But overall, this $%!@ looks sick!!!! @_____@ I mean... the concept art alone was simply beautiful, let alone all the patch notes and future plans listed... *drools*
The announcements just keep rolling back and forth over me, im literally reeling at this :D - Actually cannot take it in yet.
My morning reading went like this:
"Ooh... pretty concept art.... game server changes.... nice nice... OMG!!!!! Man'qotes!!!!! BEST NEWS EVAR!!!!!"
Priorities, you know.
My morning read was:
- Read up on patch notes from last night, ok they made it in
- Oh hey whats this, something about subscriptions?
- Ah expected them to be coming soon, no worr.... wait whats this?
-
-
-
- .... /faint
The fact that the game will be completely changed in a year, and that we have the chance to play the build up to the apocalyptic end of the current eorzea, gets me crapping myself with happiness.
Just thinking that the content and story line going on now will only be played by us, and never again, is pretty cool.
Worth paying for I think. If the game turns out to be superb in 2012, we'll be envied as the ones who played before the great flood. Or meteor. Or whatever.
We'll be part of the lore. Elders.
I still have a headache. Too much info/news in a short period of time.
Seeing the new art and screens, it could be called FF15 Online lol.
Btw, i would have introduced the sub-fee from 1.21.
Been have a geez at the PDFs and I'm really excited. Hope I'm still playing when this is all put in; I hardly ever turn out to be a long term player.
So after looking through those Upper La Noscea pieces of art, I pretty much think
That the serpent of Swallowtail Roam managed to flood parts of La Noscea, or that in conjunction with Meteor crashing down will be responsible.
Also I kinda wish the Sahagin were kinda bluer, but they look pretty cool I guess.
I dont know if anyone else noticed this, but in there UI screenshot of them fighting the monster 2-3 of the players only have 1 name, not a first and surname.
Could they be letting us choose between 1 or 2 names?
I don't think you'll be moved from all your friends. I mean, when 2.0 launches they will be keeping all your character and all your progress.
"Among our new plans is the fundamental reworking of in-game maps. As part of this process, there will be a period required for switching over to a new client and new servers, after which there will be a large transfer of data when service is brought back online. After the new client is completed, new software for the PC version will be distributed online, and can be acquired free of charge. Character data and progress for players already playing the PC version will also be preserved, allowing those players to continue using their in-game avatars."
The server change is more a behind the scenes type of thing that is needed to run the game. It's not referring to the game servers you play on, I think. Even if it does, I'm pretty sure they'd keep all the people on a certain server now, to the same new one.
They'd have huge backlash if they didn't.
My head literally blow up reading this... in a figurative sense of course.
someone invent a time machine already!
i'm really happy to see SE still wanting this game to be a big success and try to do everything so it will success.
reading thru the PDF's and checking out the concept art, this news really got me excited.
I am really excited to see how this develops over the next year. Yes of course I wish it was sooner, but I also am in school right now so I don't mind waiting awhile.
The server redesign and new graphics engine really pleases me. I think this is the overhaul along with everything else (UI, AH, Maps etc) will truly result in a "relaunch" and not a just salvaged game re-release which I was nervous to see happen. I don't think it would of been successful at all. This is probably SE best shot at re-branding this game to be truly a FF title that it should of been.
Which highlights the fact that chocobos will be able to fight as well.
Well, at least sometime in 2013.
I'm getting my tickets to e3 ASAP :)
WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY
I WILL BE RIDICULOUSLY BUSY FOR THE NEXT MONTHS
WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY
I WANNA PLAY
WHYYYYY
;_;
This was truly what FFXIV was meant to be.
Honestly, I have nothing but praise for Yoshi-P's bold move in going for a complete overhaul of the game, as opposed to simply fixing it.
New game engine, new graphics engine, everything else overhauled, holy crap, wow.
i am just wondering, what will be the billing system be? will there be more options like Paypal or sort? :<
I'm not impressed with empty promises. I'll wait for some real proof and judge then.
I am still like this: O_O
I mean, I knew they were working on stuff, I knew this game was going to change for the best, but I did NOT expect THIS.
Really glad I am still around and I am really glad I am playing this game. SE just showed they listened from the start and that they actually still care about FFXIV and the FF franchise.
It is going to take a long time, but I will be here and I will start paying starting next month if needed, since damn this game is going to get epic!
To everyone that started crying about it is going to look like WoW: How did you make that up? What looks like WoW? Seriously, you guys will never be happy.
Ah, something I just noticed
⇒Malevolent Moogle (Primal) battle
>Malevolent Moogle
>Primal
What.
I didn't even finish all of the new information yet and I'm pretty excited for what's coming. A few months ago I kept arguing with people over how lacklustre the updates were and how for a team of over 200 developers they could be pulling off better things. I had added to my argument that their only logical excuse would be that many of the developers were planning and working on developing a completely new version of FFXIV in the future while current content is just to merely pacify as they plan.
Glad I was right. This is amazing.
I woke up and saw that there were people posting about subscriptions and some FFXIV 2.0 information. Confused and intrigued I read through every single bit of information with my husband and we are two of the most excited people at the moment.
We were in beta and got CE day one and we liked the game even through its flaws at launch and now to see what they've decided to do in the upcoming year (and a year flies by naysayers) we're just so elated.
To the Dev team, keep up the awesome work. The things you've put through so far are impressive and entertaining and I cannot wait to see you in FFXIV 2.0.
We'll be paying our subs and enjoying what content their is now because after this, no one will ever see this current content again!
I could not be more hyped for this. I really would like to commend Yoshi on the job he's been doing and I have all the faith in him going forward. As such I will have no problem paying my $15 a month until release of the epically awesome FFXIV 2.0. This is what we should have been given a year ago and I can't wait to see it come to fruition.
This is FFXIV headed in the direction Yoshi-p has been leading it all along.
I'm very pleased to see this huge commitment by SE to get FFXIV up to par.
I can't wait to log in to FFXIV 2.0 for the first time, and am happy to pay a subscription to do so.
So, are people still going to bitch that Yoshi has no plan or vision? That SE is failing to address the server issues, including mail system, ah, UI, and housing? That SE isn't being transparent enough or communicating what's going on with us?
That was yesterday.Quote:

Now we bitch about how changes come too slow and cost money.
Man, you are slow...;)
Well i have to say i love the Game how it is right now and of course i will pay for it, so i went to read the new Announcment they made and i have to say:
I... am... impressed... ( And that is hard to impress me actually )
The Concepts, The UI, The Graphic Engine, The new Battles, PvP, PvE, New Areas, Customizing UI etc etc etc.. They did hide that stuff all the Time to give us just a BIG BUMMER, so we wont complain for the next Year. lol j/k
I really.. REALLY love that concept and looking forward to it. and it is really far aways from beeing like WoW ( who ever brought that up need glasses ).
people that always bring up WoW sound like this to me:
"The moment I saw a hamburger, I immediately thought McDonalds."
"The moment I saw a soda, I immediately thought Coca Cola"
"The moment I saw a candy bar, I immediately thought Hershey's"
Exactly. FFXIV looks nothing like WoW, even in concept.
Indeed, how anyone can linked FFXIV v2.0 to WoW right now is beyond me.
Several MMORPGs out there with:
-multiple mounts
-crow control
-instanced raids
-auction house
-achievement system
This has nothing to do with WoW, but more with (MMO)RPGs in general. If people do not like this kind of features they simply do not like MMORPGs.
