I feel like I can't safely wear a skirt item

In 1.0 your underwear was a separate set of gear. You could change your naked outfit.

Underwear had its own gear slot, they were planning to add it to FFXIV 2.0 but decided against it for some reason. Here's a screenshot from before it was removed:

Colorful, they probably got rid of the underwear slots to reduce the amount we had to equip. The only reason I can think of for why, or rather if they removed it for that reason, is because they probably wanted to reduce the amount of data usage or something when changing outfits. Not tech savy, but that's all I can think of. ^^;

But that would have been a really nice addition to 2.0 though, and probably would have given us better swimsuits! :D

This thread makes me wish I still had that photo from that old thread about skirt animations when laying down and how they look like tents that lalas can hide in. Someone actually posted an image from a prior post but edited with a lala peeking out of the skirt like he was peeking out of tent. Omg I wish I could find that so bad. I laughed for the longest time. XD Thought I had it saved. I guess not

I always thought the female panties showing in their newb gear was kind of like a "sex sells" sort of thing. You look at your characters back 99% of the time and this is the first outfit you see them in. I always assumed the shortness was to entice the male audience to keep playing... even though XIV doesn't have too many revealing sets of clothing compared to other MMOs, but that's why we have glamor, I guess. XD

I don't consider it a big deal, especially since its not just men who look anyway. ;)

I know I don't have a miqote blm's sense of fashion, and that's good enough for me. It's nice to have a little something extra to any outfit, whether it be the body shape, the flowy folds ,or that little something for the camera.

A good length in between is the eerie tights, just find a way to hide the stocking and you have a skirt that's just that extra bit longer.

As far as existing skirt designs, i wish they eased the "tank only" restrictions on the boarskin skirt. That was just unnecessary.

In some interview with SE, they said there are issues with the way armor looks on the "middle length" skirts, so they avoid making them.
They either try to make them too short, or like they currently do, which is to try to make them too long.
Sadly, I'd love an inbetween length skirt, but I'll never get em.

That's sad. I'm not really sure what the difference would be between mid-length and the crazy long ones we have now but whatever I guess, just another thing we can't have for some arbitrary reason.
