It's just how many players that are "recommended" to fight the monsters from the coffer, just like any other standard treasure map in game.

I believe the number is for the number of players recommended for a specific treasure map.

I think most of the time the number is just for completion's sake to give that authentic feel. Most of the maps are just places with nice views.

Greetings my good community reps! I submitted an entry for the Seekers competition, and requested a Scarf of Wondrous Wit as the prize. Alas, afterward I received one from voting on the Hairstyle contest! Woe is me!! Is there a way to change my chosen prize, or if I were to win, would the good folks at Square Enix send me one I don't already have? Thanks for your time~!

Why did you close entries a day early?

Same question wanted to check in if the Cartographer Contest ended on Thursday Oct 8 and not Friday Oct 9.

Why is the "Entry Thread" closed, unless I'm wrong there's still time to submit entries as the deadline is Friday, October 9 at 7:00 PM (Pacific Time)!?...

Well, I'm posting my Seekers entry in here. It's still in compliance with the official rules, but I guess it's up to you guys if it still counts. Please do a better job informing us if you randomly change deadlines!!

I understand there might've been some confusion with it technically being October 9th in Japan or something but I was really looking forward to making an entry (and procrastinating cuz I'm awful) so I'm disappointed to see the thread closed :<

That feel when the FFXIV forum mods delete your entry in the Cartographer's contest and don't tell you ... and then the entry deadline passes. :C

I even asked if the location was fine as a followup in this discussion thread and never got a mod reply.

And I had a backup entry ready just in case.

;____; It's too late, but I thought I'd ask again: earlier in this thread, I saw that dungeons were allowed - are PVP areas not?

Right Click the number of your post in the browser and select copy link from the drop down menu.
For instance, your post that I quoted was #59 in this thread. You should be able to see the number in the type right corner of the frame of your post.

Question: If a cartographer failed to post in the Answer Thread and their entry is invalidated does this also invalidate the entry from a seeker that chose their map?

Hoping the answer is "no" because there seemed to be a lot of Cartographer's that didn't re-post in the Answer Thread.

I can't edit my above post but it seems that is the case. Entries have appeared to have been removed/deleted from the Seeker thread that were associated with maps where the cartographer didn't re-post in the Answer thread.

This is incredibly unfair to the individuals who were seekers. It's not our responsibility to make sure a Cartographer posted in the Answer thread and the rules didn't state that Seeker's would be removed if the Cartographer didn't re-post.

NVM. I might have jumped the gun on my previous message. >_>
I'd go back and edit/delete it but I can't. It just appeared that entries that were related to cartographer's that were invalidated were removed but after going through the entire Seeker thread that may not be the case.

Mods can you delete my above post?

Well, I forgot all about having to post the answer in this thread until I thought to come check in, and now the deadline has passed. Too bad. I wonder how many others are in the same boat as me XD

Based on number of posts in both threads, and taking into consideration there were some also some moderator posts in each thread...

About 55 ppl didn't post answers.

The contest rules said "Winners will be announced on or around November 20, 2015". So if we don't find out today I'm assuming by Monday. Either way it's honestly waaaaay to long of a wait; these contests shouldn't take that long to judge. :/

Haha... had no idea until I received the item in game.

Grats to other winners, and thanks to the community team for coming up with the event. Was a lot of fun thinking this out, exploring ideas, scrapping ideas, and finally producing an entry. Also glad to see that Fish Bones and Minu Tulay won for deciphering my map ^^

Yah, I got the item in the mail in game.
That's why I came to the forums to see what was up.

o, there we go, all good. GM mail makes your mail icon go all rainbowy too, that's kinda cool.
