This is why we can't have nice things!

I think they should have made them like the job specific pvp super ability. They are useful and unique to each job.
On paper it's a really cool idea but when you think about it, they have 4 limit breaks now and you mostly see one, and sometimes another. As a bard, I've never used it. And I don't remember a tank LB.
So.. if they can't make 4 limit breaks relevant, they might struggle to provide one to every class.
The only way I could see it work would be to throw out the party limit break and let every character have their own individual limit breaks and bars. Maybe a buff or a big hit or something.
Wow this is terrible advice and statement in general.
"Don't worry, you can see your skill animation on a separate video outside the game because our game is designed for you to never see IN game!"
and
"Don't worry, the skill is NEVER useful so the only way you'll be able to see it is in a context where absolutely nothing matters!"
"I hate variety, everything should be the same! Because if things we'd have choices, we'd pick the best ones!"
Also point quote:
"that class is now mandatory in every static and no one else is allowed to limit break"
You mean like how right now only DPS are allowed to limit break? You mean mandatory classes like how SE is actually FORCING players to use a formulaic party setup in essentially all content?
I don't think you understand what ckc22 means by his statement. If what you are saying is that variety and variation is BAD and UNNECESSARY then he is sarcastically responding that 'then the game doesn't need, for example in the healer category, Astrologians, White Mages and Scholars. We should just have a single unvarying class called HEALER' only then can we achieve the homogenized, bland and 'balanced' future you are advocating for.
More so, "You don't raid so you'll probably not see the situation where it is useful come up, may as well try it out somewhere else".
Yes, that's how it works. All the LBs do the same potency for a reason. I love how your confusing logic sees one class being the only person able to limit break is somehow better than every DPS class limit breaking, though.
Also, of course, the 'best case scenario' LB, being melee DPS currently, will always be what people default too. This would not change with this thread's idea, and it would actually be made worse as stated above because it would be simplified to only the class with the 'best' result being allowed.
It's not even a big deal though, as a healer I use my LB and save runs all the time, and there were at least 3 fights in coil where the tank LB could be used. The tank LB could be more useful certainly, but everything else is pretty perfect and shouldn't be tampered with.
You're so overly hostile btw, it's adorable.
Well, for the point of viewing it in the inn, they could make 'cutscene snippets' of the limit breaks and have them via the journal. That doesn't mean making the LB in combat be a cutscene ^^; Of course, you'd then either see their template characters performing the LB in those cutscenes or run the risk of breaking immersion by having a Weaver perform the Dark Knight LB3... But we already have the latter with being able to view all cutscenes (and inserting you the way you look now instead of how you looked then), no matter if it's a MSQ or a class/job quest or something else ^^
One thing you wouldn't be able to do, though, if they made cutscenes of it for viewing pleasure, is to turn the camera and see it from different angles. On the other hand, they could possibly expand on it a little, like for BLM LB3 turn the camera to show more clearly when the giant ball of death comes hurtling down towards the enemy ^_~
Another option would be to have some sort of mechanic where you activate an object that instantly gives you 3 full LB bars -- maybe limit it to when you're solo to avoid potential confusion/clashing with the normal LB bar -- and a target for executing said LB3 onto. And either have the LB bar expire after a certain amount of time, say 20-30 seconds like other buffs, or have it expire on leaving the area (to prevent it from being used in actual combat). But I doubt that could go in the inn room, since they have strict rules for what you're allowed to do in your room to avoid disturbing other guests (in-game reason). Which is why you're not allowed to craft or even dye/glamour things in there. So to allow guests to do really violent combat moves might not fit too well xD And I'm not sure where else one could put it where you're in an instance of your own and where you can't go into actual combat to abuse this.
Maybe if they make a 'training range' in the new Scion HQ whenever they regroup and all that? Since that's likely to take a couple of patches anyway, it'd give the dev team quite some time to figure out how to do it, even if that time is likely already busy with lots of other tweaks and additions.
Huh. I was under the impression it was Melee > Ranged > Caster. (Since Ranged is less likely to hit as many enemies as Caster LB -- not that this comes into effect often on bosses/raids, but stiill.)
Then again, I don't really play any DPS classes, so... ^^; I haven't been paying much attention.
