No thanks mages wearing plate isn't something I wanna see.
complain all you want. you're not gonna get what you want. :D
There are restrictions for a reason, BUT I gotta say that the SE is very unfair when applying their restrictions. I really don't want female characters wearing (male)outfits cuz they won't let male characters wear female ones.
Although I am not one of those individuals wanting/desiring to wear female outfi(but I would like to have more ONLY male outfits), I know from forums thread and people talking in game that they want some restrictions to be lifted off or be really implemented to everybody not just a portion of the community.
This is a very bad idea
When we will get downvote button? Sometimes thread like this need some downvote :|
Never, I hope. Some ideas are really bad, but all a downvote button does it create a hivemind mentality. Disagree with the majority of forum posters? Yeah, good luck ever posting anything that isn't downvoted to oblivion. Claim you don't like Ravana's music? Downvoted. Don't like Hildibrand? Downvoted.
That's what happens on Reddit, anyway.
What is the difference between changing the gear to a lv 1 all class gear or just changing all gears into all class gear without changing the level? Or will OP wear endlevel gears on lowlevel classes?
+1 for this
changing class requirements on gears back to favourite classes (give you not all the stats if you wear it on the wrong class) will be better.
No way no how and to black rose nice pictures of the good old days in which I do and don't want to remember like no pf/df you had to spend hours in ulduh shouting to get an pt to clear oh the lol
The problem about the OP suggestion is that he don't want just removing the class requiremts for glamour on all gears (even on gears bounded to job lore like AF), but also the level requirements. And all this for cash.
cash is a bit stupid.since this feature exists since 1.0
but the development has already shown that the new developers don't want cross-equipment or high level equipment on low level characters during the later 1.xx patches, so i'm not expecting this to come back.
not because it would look strange, but probably it defeat some other purpose, whatever that is.
players are glamouring all over the servers, i've seen tanks in the most ridicolous equipment sets ever.but i really don't mind with 2.0.i actually only pay attention to equipment in towns.
ain't nobody got time to watch other peoples equipment while fighting ravana or whatever.need to zoom out anyways XD
That is just it. There is no reason whatsoever a Tank can't wear a robe and a Healer can't wear plate if it doesn't offer them any stat bonuses or anything. Its not like it restricts them for lore reasons - as in we see tanks in some robes and healers in a little plate now. It just seems cut-off and unfinished.
While the idea is good, the title is why I don't like it for the most part. I can only speak for myself, but I already pay for the game per month and I pay extra on top of that just to have storage (Retainers). I'm a craft/gather so I end up holding onto a lot of mats to level myself up - this causes storage issues.
I honestly feel that with the introduction of 3.0 and three new jobs that some sort of extra inventory space should have been included with the expansion - which they did. Now players can have up to 8 retainers, but only the first two is still free the next six still cost 2$ per month every month. Personally I am fine with the up to 8 retainers, and I am fine with paying for extra (kinda...), but I honestly believe that they should have raised it to the first 3 free and 2$ after that.
I know I am not the only one who feels this way, and what you are suggesting would not only cost more $ if people wish to do it but could also cause more inventory space issues - which means even more money every month for players to buy more retainers etc... so as you see it would just add up to more and more money per month that SE would get out of my pocket to play a Pay to Play game.
If this were free to play I would have no issues - but I (personally) am not a fan of a cash shop for in game items when I already pay for this game ever month to have access to it and then pay more to have enough space to be able to do what I enjoy within the game, which unfortunately is a necessary evil at this time.
So as I said - the idea is not a bad one. I have even asked on the forums many many many times for SE to make glamours per CLASS not per GEAR so i could glamour my WAR/PLD and SMN/BLM to look unique. Not have one that looks great and another that looks like a hot mess because I can't glamour it due to the other side already being glamoured (especially when they are PLD only, BLM only etc pieces but my WAR or SMN wears the same gear >.<)
That has nothing to do with PLD's looking like mages or mages wearing heavy gear etc which they think might 'confuse' people, and yet they will not even do that much for glamours. Is it so bad that I want my BLM to look like a BLM and my SMN to look like a SMN?
So while it is a nice idea, and I can understand the reasoning behind it, if it involves real money, more possible inventory issues and the face they won't even split up glamours for PLD/WAR and SMN/BLM - I will have to politely disagree with the idea.
Is it two? I thought it might be and that was my mistake. I couldn't remember if I paid for two extra or one extra since I pay everything 6 months in big chunks. So that was an honest mistake and I shall fix it, thank you. :)
I know I have 3 retainers at the moment and I am having inventory issues - and I was hoping with 3.0 they would make another free so I could afford to get another and have more room because with all the new gear for new jobs plus my craft/garther stuff I'm just always full constantly. >.<
I want to just have separate lists of which classes/jobs can equip a piece of gear from which classes/jobs can glamour that piece of gear. AF could still stay job exclusive. Most other pieces would expand to similar jobs (particularly any that have gear of their own that's just a pallet-swap away from being visually the same thing). A lot of boots, hats, gloves, and pants could be "all classes" for glamour purposes; some shirts as well. Even if you think a caster class in full plate armour is out of place, why not let them wear cloth shirts? As a Bard, I glamour a Velveteen Shirt, and see no real reason why DoM classes/jobs shouldn't be able to do the same. It's only the stats and not the appearance that make such pieces DoW exclusive.
SE can keep their no-plate-armour-mages rule if they want. The clearly full plate pieces aren't really the ones I want to cross job boundaries anyway. It's the fact that there are a lot of other pieces which would look perfectly appropriate on a wide range of jobs, but can't be worn on more than one or two of them.
The OP clearly doesn't understand the difference between F2P and P2P games. The notion of paying extra for this in a P2P game is ludicrous. But apart from that detail, I agree with the issue he's trying to solve. I'd solve it a little differently, but his glamour converter item idea would work too (except for how to get it — it would have to be available in-game).
No.
Enough with microtransaction, and for non-plate to wear plate and vice versa that would look silly and ridiculous.
And in FFXIV, the excuse doesn't really make sense especially in regards to PvP...
Good heavens, I'm so glad people can't "cross-glamour" their gear, otherwise I'd never know which class/job these people were:

(As for people in your own team, you have the icons to go by. Or, as mentioned, weapons and what skills/spells they use.)
That said, I don't approve of even suggesting to take RL money for something like this. It's something they should honestly just fix in the coding. Keep Job-specific gear still Job-specific, because it's supposed to be iconic for your job. Keep the item level restrictions if you must, even if it sucks for crafters and gatherers (whose gear is consistently lower ilvl than the rest). But for the love of Holy, just loosen the restrictions already >.< As has been mentioned over and over again in these forums, 'tanks dressing like mages' already happens. Sure, by using pre-50 gear (when crafted/bought mage gear is "all classes" instead of "DoM"), but still.

Dark Knight in cloth. :I
no please do not add something like this to the cash shop
this I wouldn't mind
overall I don't see anything wrong with the idea except putting it in the cash shop....
I don't see a real reason to keep a restriction like this since they keep ignoring lore anyway
For people that dont want mages in plate or warriors in robes theres a simple solution.
A glamour toggle option in settings.
