That's assuming the dates on the EU/DE/FR pages are accurate though. Neither the NA or JP pages mention the voting period at all. There's actually quite a bit different between the JP/NA and the EU/DE/FR versions of the page, like they used two different templates and just changed the language accordingly. The EU has some pretty strange laws when it comes to contests and online content so the differences might be attributed to that.

The fact that the JP page doesn't give any mention of the voting period is a big red flag to me that the EU pages might simply be wrong.

This isn't twitter where people can make multiple accounts to vote for themselves and offer free games to voters, so I doubt people will be able to buy votes for this.

That race to the finish twitter contest was a disaster. People who didn't even play FFXIV joined it..

Girl, your Au Ra is probably the most beautiful character I've seen since I joined this forum/game. Really. The color combination, eyes, scales, everything, it looks AWESOME.

It could be a number of things - maybe there were a lot more entries than anticipated, or after the backlash about the stolen entries they're trying to be more thorough before publishing them.

Also, most contests they've done in the past didn't have an audience poll, so they could have run into some unexpected errors while getting that portion figured out. I've managed similar contests before, and one of the biggest challenges I've faced is finding a good poll system that can display more than 10 entries (among other things - such as displaying all the images in a good size, and tracking the number of votes per IP address to make sure nobody is cheating).

Winners of the transition art contest were announced today, so hopefully that means they'll be shifting more focus to the hairstyle contest. :)

The thing is they're not using a poll system. They're using the likes button as their judgement so people can vote on all the hairs if they so choose.

Man how do they just give a date and say "we'll do it then" and not be ready. They're so late whats the point in giving a date to vote if you'e 4 days late on doing it. Why not be ready first and then give a date.

Would have been nice if they'd atleast notify us of what's happening and when to instead expect to start voting. We're completely left in the dark now :(

Not many favored options. Besides, this is my preferred hairstyle for all MMO since runescape (they all have this hairstyle for some raisin)

I thought the NA version of the Contest didn't have a date? I think people are just going off the other contests which could be at different times completely. Unless I missed somthing... ;-;;

i'm not impressed of these hairstyles...-.-... its all similar to the ingame hairstyles... i thought there are more creative and fantasy examples... but....

Totally had a dream I was a finalist last night.

Woke up to find that not only am I not, but the choices are pretty disappointing. I wouldn't have been so meh if the ideas that beat me were good.

seriously? Nr3 of the Male styles look like a loveless Pricture from somebody who dosn't want to join this contest from the beginning ... No collor? No view from behind? I didn't want to engage somebody but was it from a daughter of some ppl from the SE team?

Would be totaly ok if thay say that they did need more time or give tham self some more space from the beginning. Dependent at the attendance they expect but not if thay just stay silently :(

My Black power hair afro ignored i disapointed SE, only anime hairstyles included

I am utterly dissapointed..
not because i am not it, but more because the female 1# and 14# were the same, i mean there couldve been someone entirely different with an awesome hairstyle in it..

-also i think the male hairstyles were dissapoiting aswell.
i thought there should only be original ones in it? but instead i saw the warrior of light from FF1.

Everyone should really follow suit on this. It would be great to see the counts of votes, and positive feedback, between a community sponsored thread and the official one. Not to mention all the amazing work that people did but wont be recognized for it. I for one am far more excited to see the "Could have been"s rather than the results of the current contest listings.

I'm so unimpressed and disappointed with all the design selections. None of them scream "I want to wear this on my character!". The above entry however, I would have worn, and they didn't even make the cut... :(
